#2024mapped Kamedayama Tea Room The coffee shop is located in Kounkan, a Meiji-era Western-style building not far from Matsue Castle. The atmosphere is cute and retro, with a hint of the Meiji era. I ordered an autumnal grape tart. I was impressed by how delicious it was. The almond cream part was thick and the tart was firm and crispy, right in the middle of my favorite! The grapes were juicy and too delicious😍😍 The shortcake was so photogenic that I had to take a picture of my friend. You will be given a plastic bag, which you can put your shoes in and take with you when you enter. In 1877, the former Matsue domain founded Rakuzan Shrine, with Matsudaira Naomasa as its deity. In 1898, Toshogu Shrine and Rakuzan Shrine were enshrined together. In 1899, it was moved to its current location and renamed Matsue Shrine. In 1931, Horio Yoshiharu and Matsudaira Harusato were enshrined together. So, tracing the history of the shrine, we see quite a few faces❗️ While most tourists head to Matsue Castle🏯, I was surprised to see a few people stopping by Matsue Shrine⛩🙌 It is a quiet shrine, but Matsue Shrine was the catalyst for Matsue Castle becoming a national treasure. It was here that a prayer tablet with the year the castle was built was discovered✨ What's more, the city had offered a 5 million yen reward for this missing prayer tablet😳 It's good that it was found. I hope you don't miss out on Matsue Shrine and make a visit. Matsue Castle, designated as a national treasure Built before the Edo period and still retaining its appearance... One of the remaining castle towers. (12 castles nationwide) It's not flashy, but it is the second largest, third tallest, and fifth oldest of all remaining castle towers. To increase durability, the planks are painted with black lacquer and persimmon tannins to prevent them from rotting in the wind and rain. For this reason, there are few white walls, and it is known for being mostly black overall. The view from the top is also outstanding. The stone walls are impressive.
