A relaxing 1-day trip, a little sightseeing and then back to the hotel ✈️ 👉🏻 First, we started at AOAO Sapporo, an aquarium in the middle of the city. It's easy to get to, and the entrance fee is around 2,000 yen per person. Inside is a real lab. We saw staff in white uniforms working. That day, we were lucky enough to meet staff feeding penguins. They were so cute! 🐧 👉🏻 After seeing the penguins, we took the train for 2-3 stops and got off at Maruyama Park, a large park near Hokkaido Jingu Shrine and Maruyama Zoo. In early March, there was still a lot of snow, so it was beautiful to take pictures. The way to Hokkaido Jingu Shrine is also very beautiful. If you come here, you'll definitely get some great pictures to take back home. 👉🏻 When it was almost evening, we took the train back to Sapporo and got off at Susukino Station. There are two entrances to the Maruyama summit trail. I walked from Maruyama Park to the entrance of the Maruyama Hachijukka Daishido Hall. Because I visited 88 Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva statues along the way, it felt like a mini version of the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Although the top of the mountain is only 225 meters above sea level, you can overlook the city of Sapporo. It is a suburban mountain with low difficulty, but snow hiking has increased the difficulty. It took about 30 minutes to reach the top of the mountain, which is about 1 km. The first part of the mountain is steep, the icy road is very slippery and snowy, and I almost gave up and turned back. I walked very carefully throughout the whole process.
