[2024 Manchester Stay] Travel Guide for Manchester City (Piccadilly) (Updated Dec)
One Day in Manchester 🏴🇬🇧
If you happen to find yourself in Manchester and you only have one day then no worries, you will still have a good fun walking around the city center or probably pub hopping too if that is what you are keen in doing.
What to see?
1. Piccadilly Gardens - it is a green space with benches where people hang about and just enjoy the sun. There are also kids playing around so it is a perfect place for families to just have a short rest while walking around piccadilly. It is surrounded by a lot of establishments and commercial buildings such as restaurants, shops, bakeries and cafes.
2. Bar hopping- we went to Sawyer arms and also The Circus Tavern which is apparently one of the smallest bars in the country.
3. St. Peter Square - this is a walking distance from piccadilly gardens and this place has libraries and surrounded by beautiful architecture .
Have fun!

Manchester Piccadilly
Manchester has an important position in the history of railways. The Liverpool-Manchester Railway, which opened in 1830, was the birthplace of railway passenger transport. In the past 50 years, the city center has been surrounded by a large number of train stations, but now there are only two main railway stations in the city centre - Victoria Railway Station and Piccadilly Railway Station, connecting Manchester and most parts of the UK. There are also several small stations in the city centre: Oxford Road Station, Dianskiy Railway Station and Schalfort Central Station. Although there is no underground railway system in Manchester, there is still a light rail system in the city that connects the city's districts and surrounds Manchester's city centre.

#traveldiaries #manchester
Manchester City Centre is a vibrant and dynamic hub, known for its rich history, cutting-edge culture, and modern development. It seamlessly blends historic landmarks, such as the Manchester Town Hall and the Manchester Cathedral, with contemporary architecture, including the towering Beetham Tower and innovative spaces like Spinningfields.
The city center is a shopper’s paradise, home to high-end stores in areas like King Street and department stores like Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, as well as quirky independent boutiques in the Northern Quarter. The Northern Quarter is also famous for its street art, vintage shops, and buzzing nightlife, offering an eclectic mix of bars, cafes, and music venues.
Cultural attractions abound, including the Manchester Art Gallery, the Science and Industry Museum, and the Royal Exchange Theatre. Football fans will appreciate the proximity to Old Trafford and the Etihad Stadium.
Transport links are excellent, with Manchester Piccadilly Station providing easy access to the rest of the UK. The city's tram system also makes it easy to get around the center and beyond. Overall, Manchester City Centre is a lively, diverse area that offers something for everyone, whether you're visiting for shopping, dining, culture, or nightlife.

Manchester is a very lovely scenic walk, especially next to the canal, it was lovely to see everyone out at about after a concert all happy. I will definitely be coming to Manchester City again to go on more walks and see more of the beautiful city that Manchester is. I recommend going to see a concert at the coop live as it is a very stunning arena and perfect for concerts

smooth sailing, had a hitch free and very nice travel via the train, it was so calming and comfortable seating and getting to the destination was like so fast. another interesting thing is that, every stop was announced, so you couldn't miss your stop. had so much fun. always have your rail card with you because it's going to be checked. Manchester City was full of nice place and people.
