[2025 Xiaojin Attraction] Travel Guide for Majiagou Scenic Area (Updated Feb)

Sharing a lesser-known spot I visited with March last autumn. I was amazed at the time and am planning to go again this year! 📍Navigation: Majiagou, check out the guide below⬇️ 🟠Depart from Chengdu and head to Maerkang first, then drive for another hour to Majiagou in Xiaojin County. The road conditions are good along the way, with few cars and beautiful scenery. It is recommended to stay in Maerkang❗️The accommodation conditions near Majiagou are not very good, and it will be very cold without air conditioning! 🟠Arrive at the Majiagou Visitor Center at 8:30 in the morning to buy tickets. The ticket and sightseeing car cost 60 in total. After buying the ticket, go directly to the ticket check and take the sightseeing car. It takes 15 minutes to reach the starting point of the hike. Then you can hike the entire 3.2 km and see the beautiful scenery, which is great for taking photos! Of course, you can also continue to walk 2 km after the end of the plank road to reach the end point, Moon Lake. The round trip takes a total of four and a half hours. If you want to go to the end point, it may take about 6 hours, depending on your physical strength. 🟠Majiagou begins to enter the golden scenery in mid-October. Friends who want to see yellow leaves, snow-capped mountains, and lakes can go! And it's pet-friendly! The altitude of the scenic area is not very high, just over 3,000. It is still very cold in the morning and evening, so be sure to wear a thick down jacket! 🟠Overall, I think Majiagou is a good place with few people and beautiful scenery. The autumn scenery is really good. Mid-October to early November is just right. If it's a bit later, there may be more snow~ The aerial view is even better!

Pet-friendly homestay in Western Sichuan - Majia Valley|||❤️ Homestay🏠: Xiaojin Chaohong Yizhan, Double Room, CNY 300+/night, available on Trip.com. 📍Address: 333 km from Chengdu, 4-5 hours one way. 📆Date: December 7, 2024 ❄Temperature: -10°C at night, wear warm clothes, hats, gloves, etc. 🚗Road conditions: Suitable for sedans, some shady roads may have black ice, drive slowly on shady roads. 🏠Homestay: Equipped with air conditioning, oxygen generator, electric blanket, and hot water. 🍴Food and drink: Breakfast included, breakfast includes eggs, corn cakes, porridge, and pickles. For dinner, we ordered yak meat hot pot for CNY 50/person, you can add vegetables for free, but you need to pay extra for yak meat. 🐶Pet-friendliness: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ First time giving 6 stars, no pet cleaning fee or deposit, even provides dog beds, dog bath, and blow dryer. The staff even fed the dog Xiaojin apples and local corn cakes, my dog was very happy. There are many guests with pets, so keep your dog on a leash. ❗About altitude: The homestay is located at an altitude of about 3,200 meters, and the highest point of the scenic area is estimated to be 3,800 meters. You need to bring a portable oxygen tank to the scenic area, and you can take altitude sickness medicine in advance (Rhodiola, Gaoyuanan). ❗Essentials: Warm clothes, oxygen tank, and non-slip shoes! ❗Emergency medicine recommendations: Iodine cotton balls, antipyretics, band-aids, stomach medicine, oral rehydration salts, montmorillonite powder, and apply Vaseline to the dog's paws in advance to prevent cracking. ❗About the scenic area: Majia Valley is highly recommended, and you can also play in the snow at Changlie Temple and Mengbi Mountain nearby. - Remember to look up at the Milky Way 🌌 at night in places with little light. - You need to take a shuttle bus to enter Majia Valley, and then get off and walk. After 3 pm, there is a bus every 30 minutes to leave the scenic area. Before 3 pm, you can call the driver to pick you up. There are boardwalks and motorcycle paths to walk on. The motorcycle path has no steps, but it is slippery and not convenient for playing in the snow. It is more recommended to walk on the boardwalk, the steps are not dense, and you can carry dogs with spinal and joint problems in places with the most steps. ♻We need to protect the environment together - take away the trash and leave no trace. There are not many truly pet-friendly homestays. In order to take your dog to more places, pet owners should unite to keep the room clean. I hope more and more hotels and homestays will be pet-friendly in the future.

Where is the most worthwhile niche destination in western Sichuan this autumn? Of course, it's Majia Valley! You can enjoy the colorful forest, climb snow-capped mountains, and go on a light hike in Majia Valley. We deliberately chose to go on a weekday, and there were only a few people in the entire scenic area! So, it proves that if you want to have a better travel experience, you have to travel off-peak! 🚗 Itinerary: Depart from Chengdu after work on Friday, stay overnight in Barkam - go to Majia Valley directly on Saturday morning, spend most of the day in the scenic area, go to Miyaluo in the evening, stay overnight in Erguxi - play in Miyaluo on Sunday morning, and return to Chengdu in the afternoon. 🎫 Tickets: The scenic area opens at 9 am, and you must take a sightseeing bus (round-trip CNY 35), and the ticket is CNY 60. ⛰️ Altitude: The starting point of the hike is about 3,700 m, and the altitude rises all the way. The second-to-last lake (Qumei Lake) is 3,900 m, and the Moon Lake at the top is 4,300 m. Be aware of altitude sickness. 🍁 We went in mid-October, and the trees in the valley were not particularly golden at that time, but these days should be the most beautiful time in the valley, with colorful forests all over the mountains. 🍁 The scenic area is pet-friendly, and dogs can enter the boardwalk and sightseeing bus freely. However, I hope everyone can protect the environment and keep your dog on a leash! 🍁 Except for the last section of the road to Moon Lake, which is a dirt road, the rest are well-built boardwalks, and there are several restrooms along the way, and trash cans every few hundred meters, which is very convenient for light hiking. 🍁 There are no supply points in the scenic area, so remember to bring your own food and water.

We come to this world not to be a beast of burden, nor to always be serious about gains and losses. After our trip to Mount Siguniang, we originally planned to go to Daping Animal Husbandry Village in Xiaojin County. As a result, the road that must be passed is blocked and cannot be entered. We can only change the route the day before at Siguniang Mountain ⛰️, a couple who met by chance recommended a super beautiful autumn viewing spot. As a result, as soon as I walked in and took two steps, I discovered, So beautiful too! The water is very clear and the 360-degree views are perfect for taking pictures everywhere! 2️⃣ Magya Yuncuo The circular lake surface looks yellow-green under the light, and is surrounded by colorful forests. You can see the shape of the entire lake when taking a bird's-eye view from a high place~ 3️⃣ Qiong Ruo Tsomu To reach this attraction, you need to climb hundreds of steps, which is very difficult! But after that, it was basically on the same level. The best location for panoramic views. From a high position, you can see snow-capped mountains🏔️, wetlands, and yaks~ 4️⃣ Qumeituo Surrounded by cedar forests and very close to the snow-capped mountains, the swing here is a perfect place to check in and take photos with a cinematic feel. 5️⃣ Tai Chi Lotus You need to go up the mountain from the other side to see the sea between the two mountains. The climb will be more difficult, but the scenery is beautiful. - ⚠️"Not very convenient place in the scenic area" 1️⃣ No signal📶 2️⃣ Few toilets But the staff will clear up the last tourist, which makes you feel very safe.

In the mysterious and enchanting Western Sichuan, there is a place that exists like a secret realm—Maga Ditch. The scenery here is beautiful with few people, making it an extremely ideal travel destination choice. It takes about 6 hours to drive from Chengdu to reach the entrance of the Maga Ditch scenic area. The whole trek is about 10 kilometers, and it takes approximately 2 hours to reach the beautiful Moon Lake. During this trekking process, you might as well slow down and immerse your body and mind in the scenery along the way. The highest altitude here reaches up to 4200 meters. Although I usually exercise, I still suffer quite severely from altitude sickness. Make sure to keep warm, and be sure to bring a down jacket. In terms of food, there are many delicious Sichuan dishes to choose from along the way, which are tasty and affordably priced. Friends who like spicy food can freely walk into a restaurant and enjoy the feast of delicious food. As for accommodation, you can choose to stay in Maerkang or in the homes of local residents in Maga Ditch, where the accommodation conditions in Maerkang are relatively better. Maga Ditch is a relatively niche attraction in the Western Sichuan region. Even during the holiday season, there won't be too many crowds. However, it has all the stunning scenery of Western Sichuan, which can be described as all-encompassing. Remember to bring an umbrella when trekking, in case you encounter rainy weather and feel cold, and also bring some snacks and fruits, such as oranges, bananas, etc. We walked slowly, and I only had a slight case of altitude sickness, so be sure to drink plenty of hot water! The last Moon Lake requires about 1.8km of mountain hiking to reach (high altitude hiking is recommended to prepare hiking equipment and dry food supplies), which takes about 2 hours one way. We haven't specifically visited the scenic spots in western Sichuan for a long time. In addition to some scenic spots having restrictions on pets, we prefer less crowded niche spots in western Sichuan and the beautiful scenery encountered along the way, free and surprising.
