Every spring, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, many visitors come here to enjoy them. In addition to cherry blossoms, there are also peonies, azaleas, plum blossoms, camellias, and other flowers that bloom in different seasons, making it a beautiful place at any time of the year.

While most of the cherry blossom forecast predicted March 16/17 to be the date for first bloom in Fukuoka, when I visited Maizuru Park on March6, at least 50% of the Sakura were already in full bloom. The Sakura trees are just under the castle ruin wall so it is quite pretty and great for taking photo. At sunset, the view is particularly beautiful and you can catch the right shot with Sakura and the orange sky.
