There are a lot to see and eat in Lyon. I encountered racist acts unfortunately and that made the trip less enjoyable. Despite the unpleasant experience, I do find the city itself looks beautiful.

Rich Culture and History

#hiddengems Lyon offers such a rich package of History, culture, stunning cuisine, architecture and a lot less tourists. This can be a wonderful alternative to Paris or say if you're done with the most important things in Paris. Lyon should be the better place to head to. There is a museum for arts, culture, archeology, textile etc. All this reflects on the theme of Lyon. With cinema aficionados, Lyon is also famous for Lumiere brothers. What I love and especially after having to deal with crowds and tourist traps in Paris, The initimate atmosphere that Lyon offers. It's so peaceful. And seeing different things or visiting places doesn't require as much effort. It's an experience you must have to understand what is so wonderful about it. #hiddengems #france #lyon

Getting There - very easy by plane or train Attractions - cute streets, lovely plazas and rly beautiful river walks Hotels - many for all price points around the city, college hotel recommended though Food & Restaurants - must try traditional Bouchon food! Particularly near st Paul station Shopping - all the usual French stores to keep u happy

Love of Lyon

Lyon is one of the best cities to visit in France. The food people and architecture will inspire you. although generally safer than Paris you should still be mindful of your surroundings. Just walking down the old streets, having some food, or smoking a cigarette will make you feel like a local. Definitely try to go to some old catholic churches, but if not don’t worry too much. #lyon
