Hello, everyone! Our journey in Yunnan is coming to an end, and our last stop was Lijiang. We stayed in a lovely hotel called Lux, boasting an excellent location with a spectacular view of the Yulong Snow Mountain 🏔️. However, we have to admit, despite Lijiang’s stunning natural beauty and rich historical and cultural background, it has become too “touristy.” The streets are filled with shops and tourists, making it hard for us to find that authentic local experience 🤔. I remember being filled with anticipation for Lijiang before embarking on the journey. But now, we find ourselves pondering: In pursuing the growth of the tourism industry, have we lost something precious? Should we be prioritizing the protection of native, undeveloped places more? Although this leg of the journey was somewhat disappointing, it has made us appreciate the undiscovered hidden corners even more. We are eager to know your thoughts. I took a trip to Lijiang, Yunnan in April, and I must say, it's quite nice to visit Yunnan at this time of the year. It's when the flowers are blooming, and there aren't too many tourists. Initially, I chose the InterContinental Hotel next door, but sometimes I thought such hotels could be a bit boring, so I switched to Lishi. Pros: If you book a suite, it can be said to be a low-end version of Aman (close to the ancient town, local minimalist construction, a variety of activities, delicious coffee, and you can even take a bath). Cons: Because it really is just a courtyard, it feels like returning to the village of my childhood. If someone passes by and talks loudly downstairs, you can hear it upstairs. So, people with light sleep probably won't sleep very well
