Culture in Structures
We went to this place at night time. We got lost, turned to the wrong street but in the end it was worth to see such amazingly detailed structure! It was a bit crowded with tourists but people were very respectful and the tourists made sure not to bother the locals who came there to pray. This place is near #raohenightmarket #taipei #taiwan #temple

Longshan/Lungshan Temple in Taipei
Longshan Temple is one of the most religious places in Taipei. It became a major spiritual and community centre for settlers from mainland China since it was built in 1730. Nowdays you can still see lots of visitors and locals worshiping. Most people worship Guanshiyin Budda and other divine spirits. Today, it is also one of the most significant religious landmarks in Taipei. The Temple features ornate and colourful details. Lots of incenses are burnt and art work is displayed in the interior. It is closed until 10:00 PM but if you are a visitor you must leave the place at 5:00pm. The recommended time for this site would be between 1 hour to 2 hours.

Temples in Taipei
I went here during the rainy season so it was difficult to tour around the city. Taiwan was very popular during this time so it was full of tourists which made it difficult for me to take good photos. Temples are free to visit but expect a high volume of visitors especially in the afternoon.

The Longshan Temple was built in the Qing Dynasty for three years and has always had a lofty social status. Different from the clear attributes of other temples, the main hall of Longshan Temple is the Guanyin Bodhisattva, but it also enshrines the Taoist gods Mazu and Guandijun. It is said that this is because Taipei has immigrants from all over the country, in order to balance the beliefs of each region. Here are the gods.
In addition to praying for the world and making good friends, the most noteworthy thing about Longshan Temple is its exquisite temple architecture. Longshan Temple follows the traditional architectural style of southern China. The flying horns, the carved beams and the faades are stacked, especially the algae wells and chic stone carvings of the front hall and the main hall structure, which makes people instantly pass through the distant Qing Dynasty.
When the first light is on, it is the most beautiful moment of Longshan Temple. The dragon symbolizing good luck is like a flying dragonfly. The beautiful and gorgeous patterns and carvings fill the whole beam. The moon's charming and charming Longshan Temple is also dwarfed. .

Longshan Temple in Taipei is a must-visit.
✨Longshan Temple✨ is another landmark of Taipei. If you come, you should visit it at least once. This ancient temple in Taipei is easy to reach and convenient to travel to. Recently, Thai people have been renting various types of amulets from the temple. The temple itself features traditional Chinese architecture and is not very large in size. It is close to the subway, and there is also a famous Thai pork leg rice shop next to the temple.
♥️Recommended to visit and pray for blessings♥️

Longshan Temple is a revered site in Taiwan, attracting both locals and tourists. It is one of the most famous temples in Taiwan, where people come to pray and purchase amulets.
Getting there is very easy. Simply take the subway to Longshan Temple Station. Once you exit the station, you will see the temple right away.
At the temple, besides taking photos of the temple and its sacred objects, there is also a waterfall area perfect for photography.
The amulets are available near the exit gate. You can scan the QR code to view the catalog and prices. Then, write the number of the amulet on a piece of paper and hand it to the staff, pay (cash, card, etc.), and wait to receive the amulet. Finally, activate it at the large incense burner in the courtyard.

Longshan Temple
No matter if you're traveling domestically or internationally, you always have to visit temples to pray for good fortune. Longshan Temple is one of the ancient temples in Taiwan that you must visit. It's always so crowded!
It's a famous place for praying for a partner. Whatever type of partner you wish for, just pray for it. And there are also many amulets...
FYI:
- The Old Moon God is at pot number 7. The sign is where many people are praying...
- When making a wish, don't forget to specify details about yourself and importantly, your preferences.
- Don't forget to pray for a red thread from the deity.
- Toss the red half-moon shaped wood, one side up and one side down, three times to receive the red thread.
- Pick up one red thread and walk around the incense pot three times.
- Pray again (deja vu) in front of the shrine, then put the red thread in your wallet, and you're done.
** Just in case, it's recommended to buy a love amulet to carry with you **
I felt the magical combination of traditional culture and modern civilization
📝 Taiwan Travelogue part4: Longshan Temple in Mengjia 📝
🎞🎞🎞🎞
Originally built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, it has been damaged and repaired multiple times. The existing buildings were mostly reconstructed between 1920-1926 and expanded from 1953-1965. It is a temple that showcases a combination of the Qing Dynasty, the Japanese occupation period, and the post-liberation era. The carved beams and painted rafters are quite characteristic of the Minnan style, and the temple is very popular with worshippers.
🖼🖼🖼🖼
The most unique feature is the temple's queuing system for window services, which made me feel as if I was at a bank rather than a temple 😂. Here, for adding incense oil or making donations, you need to take a number, experiencing the magical combination of traditional culture and modern civilization.
📷📷📷📷
I was also very happy that I could take photos here. None of the temples I have visited in Taiwan had signs prohibiting photography, and no one would come out to say that taking photos is disrespectful to the deities, which is something I really like about Taiwan.

Longshan Temple in Taipei - Lantern Festival during the Spring Festival
Every year during the Spring Festival, various cities in Taiwan hold a variety of lantern festivals, with a wide range of styles and a lively atmosphere. Let's take a look at this year's Dragon Year Lantern Festival at the Longshan Temple in Bangka, Taipei.
This year, the Longshan Temple Lantern Festival coincides with the arrival of the Year of the Dragon in 2024. The lanterns shaped like the Dragon Kings of the Four Seas are placed right in front of the mountain gate. After entering the temple, there are two main lanterns on the left and right sides for praying for blessings and peace. Passing under the main lanterns signifies that you will receive peace and happiness for the year.
The temple also features a variety of auspicious animals in the form of dragons and tigers, and the lanterns of various bodhisattvas and immortals, such as Guanyin, the Old Man Under the Moon, and Wenchang Dijun, are also placed within the temple, dazzling visitors and full of the New Year spirit.
Next time you visit Taipei during the New Year, don't forget to come to Longshan Temple to see the lanterns and enjoy the fun of the Chinese Lantern Festival.

Witness the Taiwanese religious scene
Headed to Taipei in late October and had the opportunity to witness the vibrant religious scene at Longshan Temple in Wanhua District.
People clad in costumes of Chinese dieties and roving along the streets, with loud drums and music to add some excitement to the event.
Don’t forget to snap some photographs of these events, they don’t happen very frequently! #Taipei #Religion #遶境

Due to the increasing rain in the afternoon, I sought shelter at Longshan Temple and coincidentally arrived during the time for evening chanting. With a devout heart, I listened to the Buddha's name and purified my soul, while also taking the opportunity to visit the exquisitely carved ancient architecture.

Lungshan Temple of worship
No. 211, Guangzhou St, Wanhua District, Taipei City, Taiwan 10853
The lungshan Temple is located one train station away from the famous ximending street. The temple is very crowded on weekends in the afternoon. The temple has a booth within where they are selling lucky charms for you to put on your mobile phones.
There are also lots of people praying for their health, wealth, and prosperity. I love the small waterfall in the temple. It somehow makes you feel calm and peaceful. Be sure not to talk too loud inside the temple as we must respect the people there. Outside of the temple are many stalls selling vegetarian dishes.

A Glimpse of Taiwan’s Vigorous Folk Faith🎋
Also known as Longshan Temple, it’s one of those places that you can’t miss in Taipei! The temple is one of the oldest in Taiwan. It’s also one of the top religious sites in the city dedicated to the Chinese Buddha of compassion, Guanyin. The temple was built in 1783 by Han immigrants from Fujian who used it as a place for gathering and worshipping.
Longshan Temple has a unique architecture and is also home to other divinities. It was jam packed when I arrived. I was instantly greeted by the crowd at the entrance as people were busy buying offerings. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but thank God a local friend was there to brief me about each divinity and their religious purpose. Near the exit, there’s a shop selling souvenirs and tokens which you can purchase as symbols of good luck, good fortune…etc My friend bought one for me and wished me a life filled with good luck and happiness 🙏✨(See second pic) There’s no entrance fee to access the temple.
How to go ➡️ Going there by MRT is super convenient as the temple is next to the station. Get off at Longshan Temple 🚇 station.

Located in Wanhua District, Lungshan Temple is a very accessible temple to visit when you are in Taiwan. I was planning to dine to Huaxi Night Market, so I just dropped Lungshan Temple on the way. It was only in walling distance. So, I suggest you visit Lungshan as well when you go to Huaxi. Lungshan Temple serves as the place for worship for the Chinese folks living in Taipei.
