This is an ancient village - Longtan Village, also called Longtanli, located in Xiling Township, Pingnan County, Ningde City, Fujian Province. It is about 50 kilometers away from Pingnan County.
The village is surrounded by mountains, with a stream running through it. Ancient buildings are scattered along both sides of the stream, with rammed earth and yellow mud walls, solid wooden structures, black and gray tiles, and old wooden doors that have withstood the wind and rain. , leaving mottled traces.

Longtan Ancient Village is located in the northeast of Tangquan Township, Taihu County, Anqing City, bordering Qianshan County to the east and Yueshi Mountain and Water to the north, hidden in a small corner of the Dabie Mountains. In various online texts, it is classified as a Huizhou-style residential category, but if you take a closer look or take a few walks in the village, you will notice many differences.
1️⃣First, in terms of site selection, Longtan Ancient Village is not large in scale and is located on a slope surrounded by mountains on all sides. Both the cultivated land and the residential area are problematic. Unlike the independent houses in Huizhou villages, the houses here have a stronger sense of adhesion, and the separated alleys are hidden in them, which is difficult to detect. The main skeleton of the village's transportation is two river walkways, mostly paved with bluestone strips or bluestone slabs. Although some sections of the road have lost their ancient charm after being renovated in recent years, the river channel is more prominent as a result.
2️⃣Second, the water potential is an important factor, and some of the public construction of the village is carried out around this. We stayed at Zhou Zhou's homestay, where the landlady was particularly hospitable. The homestay had a large public area, and they provided us with a fixed tea table for our tea time. The beauty of the village was reflected in its winding paths. The night was quiet, and when it rained, we enjoyed the tea, chatted, and listened to music, which was very cozy. The food and lodging in the ancient town are quite cheap, and it's generally not necessary to book online unless some rooms are indeed scarce, but they are also very elegant and chic. The next day we went to Siping Village, which is even smaller than Longtan, with a different kind of beauty. It's just a five or six-minute drive away. The village is full of persimmon trees, and it would be a unique scene to visit in autumn. The prices at Siping Coffee are even cheaper than in Longtan, and the stalls in the long wooden corridor at the entrance of the village are unattended, with purchases made by scanning QR codes. Located in Pingnan County, Ningde City, set your GPS for Longtan Ancient Town. It's a one-hour drive from Pingnan County, two hours from Fuzhou, and four and a half hours from Xiamen.
This place is known as the 'Fujian version of a place with wind'
The village is at the foot of a mountain, and after getting off the highway, you need to drive on a mountain road for about ten to twenty minutes to enter the village. The mountain road is easy to drive and not steep, and there is a unified parking lot in the village.
It was drizzling on the day I went, with clouds and mist winding around the mountain tops, creating a unique atmosphere.
A stream flows down from the mountains, and houses with wooden architecture are built along the stream, giving a sense of Jiangnan landscape. There are art galleries, coffee shops, and research bases here, making it a village with a touch of artistic flair and commercialization.
The local customs are simple, and there are self-service unmanned stalls by the stream selling various local products, even including big cabbages, which is quite interesting.
For food, there are farm restaurants, snacks, fruit tea, milk tea, and roasted milk coffee.
There are many homestays for accommodation, and the prices are not high.
But the village is actually quite small, and you can finish walking around it very quickly.
If there's no traffic jam, the net driving time from Xiamen is four and a half hours, which is too far. The high-speed train also takes four hours and requires a transfer. I don't think it's worth driving so far from Xiamen, especially since there are so many places you can go within four to five hours.
If you are from Ningde, Fuzhou, or nearby areas and it's a one to two-hour drive to stroll around, walk the kids, daydream for half a day, or stay for one night, it's not bad. There are many homestays for accommodation, and the prices are not high.

Longtan is not far from Siping, just about a 10-minute drive. After visiting Siping on the same route, we head straight to Longtan,
Parking🅿️: Longtan has two parking lots, both close to the scenic area. It is recommended to choose the parking lot to avoid fines for illegal parking.
Although the architectural style here is largely similar, Longtan is still a worthwhile place to visit.
Although Longtan doesn't have as many persimmons as Siping, the scenery is even more charming.
The scale of the ancient village is not large, making it a relaxing and enjoyable place to stroll around. Everywhere you look, there are exquisite views, and there are also studios, guesthouses, taverns, and coffee shops...
This is an ancient village with a strong artistic atmosphere. Personally, I think it is a relatively mature tourist area, but not highly commercialized, and the prices are relatively affordable.

Longtan Ancient Town! A great place for a spring outing! Do you believe it?
There are many stilted buildings in the ancient town, as well as a large number of Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings. A small stream runs through the ancient town, and the stone slab street in the town is three kilometers long, showing its simplicity and vicissitudes. There are many cultural and creative shops in the village, which have preserved the old appearance and undergone internal transformation, such as coffee houses, small bars, libraries, tea rooms, and art galleries.
Accommodation: There are many characteristic homestays. During the chat, I learned that one of the homestays was opened by a Hong Kong person because he liked the environment here and opened a homestay.
Food: It is said that many homestay owners will cook by themselves. If you don't have accommodation, there are many restaurants in the village.
First day itinerary brief version: Drive to Longtan at 13:00, arrive at 15:00, visit the upper reaches of Longtan for check-in and photo taking, and you can check in for meals "Mi Shao Rabbit", the "Beef Noodles" and "Meat Vegetable Noodles" of the small alley people's home, and there are cats to tease! It's cold at night, wear more clothes, take a photo and go back to sleep!

Among them, the dining and accommodation in Longtan Ancient Town are the most convenient, followed by Siping Village, and then Qiantou Village. If Longtan Ancient Town is the center, Siping Village is 4 kilometers away, and Qiantou Village is 1.5 kilometers away.
Secondly, there are more persimmons in Qiantou Village and Siping Village than in Longtan Ancient Town, but each scenic spot has different scenery. The persimmon trees in Siping Village are relatively high, and the large scenery is particularly beautiful; the persimmons in Qiantou Village are good for backgrounds, and it is highly recommended for portraits; there are relatively few persimmons in Longtan Ancient Town, but the scenery is also good.

The peaches in Longlongtan Ancient Town are extremely sweet in July! The owner of the B&B is also very nice and gave us a lot🍑. You can also buy gadgets to catch fish! The water in the creek is very clear and there are many small fish that can be caught. There are many ancient houses along the creek, and the trees bear a lot of fruits. You can also hear the chirping of birds. In short, it is very interesting. hapiness! Very happy! I want to go a second time!
