Longhua Temple is the most authentic temple complex in Shanghai. Most of the temples are reconstructed and newly built but the complex itself dates back to the 12th century. Outside the Longhua Temple complex, there is a Longhua Pagoda, it is under the protection of Shanghai and unfortunately you can go inside the pagoda, but you can still admire it from the outside. I have been to the Longhua Temple multiple times because I just like to visit it whenever I am in Shanghai. I prefer it over Jingan Temple for sure. The vegetarian noodles at Longhua Zen Food are delicious, and the other snacks, especially the Arhat Cake, are my favorite. The three-in-one bracelet is also very popular this year. You can get one if you like, but you may have to wait in line. 🎟️Tickets: Longhua Temple no longer charges admission. It's very tourist-friendly. 💗Other tips: There are a lot of people visiting Longhua Temple recently. I recommend going on a weekday when there are fewer people. This is called 条头糕，but isn't it 桂花年糕 with red beans inside? 🤭 Anyway, it's something I unexpectedly got from visiting Longhua Temple in Shanghai. I didn't think before going that the highlight of going there would be enjoying 素面 and temple snacks~ They even had 茶馆~！The overall atmosphere was different from typical temples, but still very natural and special yet ordinary. Their food hall was beautiful and serene. Interestingly, they didn't directly collect payment for our noodles. Instead, they placed the QR code on each table, trusting everyone to pay responsibly on their own. This created a wonderfully trustful environment. Absolutely love it here~
