Longhua Temple is the most authentic temple complex in Shanghai. Most of the temples are reconstructed and newly built but the complex itself dates back to the 12th century. Outside the Longhua Temple complex, there is a Longhua Pagoda, it is under the protection of Shanghai and unfortunately you can go inside the pagoda, but you can still admire it from the outside. I have been to the Longhua Temple multiple times because I just like to visit it whenever I am in Shanghai. I prefer it over Jingan Temple for sure.
