The Lofoten Islands in Norway are among the most beautiful natural places you can visit, featuring towering mountains, white sandy beaches, and a magically deep blue sea. The scenery here looks as if it were taken from a painting, especially during sunset or under the Northern Lights. 🏞️🌅
Small villages like Reine and Hamnøy add to the magical feel of the place with their colorful wooden houses overlooking the water and mountains. Walking through these villages, you can feel a sense of tranquility and peace, as if living in another world. 🏘️🌊
Activities in Lofoten range from hiking up mountains like Reinebringen for stunning panoramic views to kayaking in the calm seas between the islands. Every activity here offers you the chance to enjoy and immerse yourself in the amazing nature. 🚶♂️🛶
It is also an ideal place for fishing enthusiasts, where you can join traditional fishing trips or enjoy fresh seafood dishes at local restaurants. The fish here are considered some of the best in the world. 🎣🍽️

Norway | The end of the world, the Lofoten Islands
| The end of the world, the Lofoten Islands. 🇳🇴 Lofoten, a paradise within the Arctic Circle, is rated by National Geographic as the second most beautiful archipelago in the world and described by Lonely Planet as 'breathtakingly beautiful'. It is, along with Senja, one of the most beautiful and worthwhile places to visit in Norway in my opinion!
Who wouldn't yearn for those isolated colorful little houses🏠? Lofoten is just that, solitary and peaceful, with beautiful and gentle lakes and mountains. How should you play in Lofoten? I recommend renting a car🚖 to have the most fun touring the entire island!
📸 About the attractions
❶ Hamnoy
Google Maps location 'Fotospot Hamnoy', the cover of Lonely Planet, better wide-angle shooting effect on the east side of the bridge.
❷ Olenilsoya kystfort
Location 'Roastad Retro Rorbuer', a few red houses, walk up the mountain trail next to the houses for a better view, especially when the lights of the fishing village are on in the evening.
❸ Å town
The end of the Lofoten Islands, the town with the shortest name in the world, with distant mountains looming, giving a sense of extremity.
❹ Skagsanden beach
The desolate beach along the E10 highway.
❺ Yellow House
Location 'Anita’s Sjomat', the popular yellow house is right next to it, nothing special about the house itself, but the surrounding scenery is not bad, worth a walk.
❻ XHenningsvaer Stadium
The football field is at the end of Henningsvaer, with nice scenery along the way, a romantic journey.
🚘 Route suggestion: Lofoten + Senja Island + Tromsø
🌈 Travel Tips
It is suggested to visit these places together, each with its own charm, no need to worry about aesthetic fatigue😻
Tromsø needs no introduction, stroll through the colorful streets of houses🏠, the design-savvy Arctic Cathedral, take the cable car🚠 to overlook the fjord, both the live view and the photo angles are good
Senja Island, which is on the way from Tromsø to Lofoten, is a perfect stopover. The mountains🏞 on Senja are higher, the terrain is more varied, and there are more viewing platforms, offering a more visually impactful experience

I have tried for you the indescribable loneliness and romance from Northern Europe
Lofoten Islands in winter
It’s the existence that is enshrined in my heart
We were here last month
Warm cabin in glacier fjord
Spent the polar night, Christmas, and winter solstice
An indescribable feeling of loneliness and romance
🏔️>
Many people think of Lofoten Islands in Norway
Likened to a cold wonderland at the end of the world
This seemingly far away place
It’s not as hard to get there as you thought
After we fly to Tromso
No car rental, public transportation throughout the journey
You can also appreciate the soul-shaking beauty of Lofoten
🚢>
Arrive by polar cruise from Tromso
Svolvil in northern Lofoten Islands
Then take the bus to the area around the town of Reina
The classic scenery of Lofoten is mainly concentrated here
So we stayed here for four nights and chose two cabins respectively.
It can be said that there are no surprises, and I would like to come again next time
🏠>
Stayed here in Hamnoy for the first two nights
It can be said that I came to Lofoten specifically for this window.
This wooden house can accommodate four people and has two floors.
The floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room on the second floor face the snow-capped mountains
If the weather is good, you can see the Aurora from your room.
There is also a snow bath with a great view
Walking distance to the bridge
I took that classic shot of the red house in the snowy mountains
🏠>
The cabin we stayed in for the next two nights was closer to the town of Reina.
There is a small dock at the door of the room
Opposite is the "lonely cabin"
You can also hike the hillside behind
Overlooking the fjord town
Living here is more comfortable.
You can cook by yourself if you have a kitchen

Winter's ultimate scenery not to be missed: Norway's Lofoten Islands.
As a child born in the south, the world of ice and snow has always been a place I longed for, but I also maintain a sense of awe and distance from it, knowing full well that I cannot withstand extremely low temperatures. That's why I have visited so many countries, with destinations mostly in the southern parts of the earth or in Europe that are not too cold. However, when I thought about the rare opportunity to come to the Netherlands, it seemed a shame not to visit Norway, so I decided not to give up this opportunity that was right in front of me.
🚶🏻♂️Departing after New Year's Day, Norway is currently experiencing polar night, with less than five hours of daylight. If it snows or rains, it may be gloomy all day long. Be mentally prepared, because after 3 pm, the whole earth falls into darkness. Also, this period is not the peak tourist season on the island, and many indigenous people will leave. Therefore, once it gets dark, you may not see many people even if you drive for a long time.
🚗When coming to the Lofoten Islands, be sure to rent a car for self-driving. Especially in this season, there is almost no public transportation, and driving is the most convenient option. Also, be sure to choose a four-wheel drive car, equipped with snow tires, and get full insurance, which is related to life safety. I rented a car at Evenes airport, which is relatively close to the Lofoten Islands. I also have friends who rented a car from Tromsø and drove all the way, which can be more tiring.
📍My trip in Lofoten lasts for five nights and six days, which is relatively tight. I will stay in three popular destinations on the islands: Andøya, Henningsvær, and Reine, and then explore from these three points. This way, the driving distance each day won't be too long, and I can experience the local customs and culture to the fullest. Among the three places, my favorite is still Henningsvær, which has a iconic football field at the end of the world, snow-capped mountains, and a larger city half an hour's drive away where I can buy materials and find enough restaurants.
🦪During the winter season, many restaurants in Rovaniemi are closed due to the off-season for travel. In addition, the cost of traveling in northern Europe is already higher than in the south, and even ordinary restaurants have an average cost of around 200-300 RMB per person. Therefore, buying relatively cheap raw materials in supermarkets and cooking for oneself is a more worry-free and cost-effective way.
📸As long as it's a good day, the Isle of Rafton is really photogenic, with an extreme purity and coolness that will make you unable to stop your camera. Many times, you can take very beautiful photos with just your phone. My camera model is Canon R5, and I basically used the 24-105 lens throughout the journey.
Next winter, looking forward to the opportunity to say goodbye to the Nordic again!

What a beautiful beach - again. But it’s not Thailand my friends this time. In the next posts I will show you some impressions of my summer adventures last year on the Lofoten islands in Norway, which is the most northernmost point I’ve ever been. Those islands in the arctic circle, which means you can get really bad weather within minutes. In summer it looks like the Caribbean sometimes. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I first saw this 😍 Have you ever been to Norway?

Hammarskaftet Lofoten village, view of the mountain cap
Hammarskaftet Village, don't drive so much that you forget to stop by!!
Lofoten in Norway, an island full of fishing villages, with bright colors and the charm of Lofoten. And this point is the bridge corner with a sharp mountain backdrop that stands perpendicular to the bridge corner.... Photographers and photographers will never miss this point.
For this location, when driving past Hamnoy Village, drive a little further and you will find Skrisoy Village. Drive a little further and you will find this place. I guarantee that you will not find it because it is a thoroughfare that you cannot see at all. And there is almost no parking. There is a small shoulder where you can hide your car and run down to take pictures. You will see the bridge and look back at the road. You will get this picture. While walking down, I saw photographers dressed beautifully standing and taking pictures. We did not miss taking beautiful pictures in Lofoten.
Note: For this view, if there is snow, I think it will be very beautiful.

The Northern Lights in the Lofoten Islands
The Lofoten Islands in Norway 🇳🇴 are located within the Arctic Circle, attracting many tourists every winter to chase the Northern Lights. We traveled a long way to get here, and of course, we were no exception!
Since we didn't have much time to stay, we joined a local tour group to make the most of our time. The guides were very experienced and told us that we were very lucky because the Kp index was relatively high that night, increasing our chances of seeing the Northern Lights! We were all very excited! That night, the guide drove us to a sparsely populated area with less light pollution and a clear sky 🌌. After waiting for about 30 minutes, the sky was filled with magnificent Northern Lights, dancing across the sky. It was incredibly beautiful!

I spent my days hiking, kayaking, and just soaking in the breathtaking views. The iconic Reinebringen hike was a highlight, offering panoramic views of the fjords that are simply unforgettable. Even in summer, the weather can be unpredictable, so layering up is key. I loved wandering around the picturesque village of Reine and enjoying fresh seafood at local eateries. Don’t miss visiting the Lofotr Viking Museum, where you can dive into the Viking history of the area.
There’s no entrance fee for the islands themselves, but activities like kayaking or museum visits usually cost around 100-200 NOK. If you're up for it, you can also try your hand at fishing or take a boat tour to see the majestic sea eagles and puffins. The midnight sun in summer adds a surreal glow to the already mesmerizing landscapes—definitely an experience I'll never forget.
Lofoten is truly a destination where nature takes center stage. Whether you're there to hike, fish, or just relax, you'll leave feeling inspired. #trip #LofotenIslands #NorwayNature #MidnightSun #AdventureAwaits #ScenicBeauty

Moskenes: A Journey to Norway's Arctic Wonderland
Nestled within the stunning Lofoten Islands, Moskenes is a place where nature’s most breathtaking phenomena come to life. This small village, located in northern Norway, offers an extraordinary Arctic experience that is nothing short of magical.
One of the most captivating aspects of visiting Moskenes is witnessing the ethereal Northern Lights. The long, dark nights of the Arctic winter provide the perfect backdrop for the aurora borealis to dance across the sky in brilliant hues of green, purple, and pink. It’s a sight that will leave you spellbound, a memory etched in your heart forever.
During the polar night, when the sun never rises above the horizon, Moskenes takes on a mysterious and serene atmosphere. The absence of daylight only enhances the beauty of the snow-covered landscapes and the rugged coastline that defines the Lofoten Islands. Despite the darkness, the village is vibrant with life and culture, as the local community embraces the unique conditions with warmth and hospitality.
Exploring Moskenes and its surroundings in the Lofoten Islands offers a rare opportunity to experience the raw beauty of Norway’s Arctic regions. From the awe-inspiring Northern Lights to the tranquil allure of the polar night, a visit to Moskenes is a journey into one of the most enchanting corners of the world.

I have an awesome holiday with my wife in Lofoten island recently, stayed at Eliassen Rorbuer, a charming fisherman's cabin, and explored the picturesque village of Hamnoy. We also visited the Fish Museum, immersing ourselves in the rich maritime history of the region. The stunning natural beauty of Lofoten Island, combined with the unique cultural experiences, made for an unforgettable and enriching holiday experience!

The town with the shortest name in the world
Å is the town with the shortest name in the world. It is located at the southernmost tip of Lofoten Islands in Norway. It is a densely populated small fishing village. At the same time, this town is also located at the starting point of Europe's Route 10 Highway. Å ranks first among the 26 English letters, but it is the last syllable in Norwegian, so this name means ending and restarting, which is thought-provoking!
The town is mainly engaged in cod farming, has few residents and is very peaceful.
