One of the secret attractions which you need to visit when you are in Guangzhou is Liupianshan. Located at north east part of the city and not close to downtown, it take some time to arrive there.
Closest metro station is Dongping Station and from there you can take car to drive you in front of the entrance. Prepare water and snacks because climbing is a bit hard and take around 30 minutes.
When you come to the top view is amazing. There will be a lot of people trying to make good pictures so you need to wait for your turn. Also I didn't try but I saw some people swimming in the lake, so that can be also one option for you if it's not forbidden 😁
Entrance fee is free so if you have time you should definitely visit this place.

The hidden gem of Liupian Mountain, hailed as the "teardrop of Guangzhou", is an unexploited primitive forest. There are two ways up this hill. You can either take a steep mountain road on the left, or a gentle slope on the right. In about 40 minutes, you can get to the top. The reservoir at the foot of the mountain is known by locals as the "heavenly lake". In its beautiful jade-green depths, you can often see people going for a dip.
Lavi..
Direct access by subway, walk for half an hour to reach the super beautiful Blue Tears Tianchi.
The whole route is relatively relaxing.
This mountain is mainly wild, but there are no more scenic rest platforms for safety.
There are many characteristic rest sheds built with a few small steep slopes.
There are also wide forest roads.
The exposed red mud road and the small gullies washed by rainwater are crisscrossed with dense vegetation and dense jungle.
In the jungle, you are small, but your eyes are a big green world.
Standing on the high stone and looking at the mysterious Tianchi is very open.
This is a place to heal your body and mind.
If you like to walk into nature, don't miss it!

Guangzhou Liupieshan | Weekend travel guide with kids recommended
Now the weather in Guangzhou is really getting hot🌞
A full day's hiking route in the hot weather is really tiring
This time we're taking a leisurely and relaxed route【Liupieshan】⛰️
🚇Transport: Baiyun Dongping Metro B exit
🚗Self-driving: Navigate to Liupieshan gate, you can drive directly to the mountain foot starting point
📷Photo spots: The lawn at the foot of the mountain, the best position on the mountain top for aerial shots
The overall route will be relatively easy, after walking up from the mountain foot there is a lawn where you can camp with kids and pets, there is a snack bar in front for water, snacks, etc. replenishment【You can also order takeout to be delivered here—locate Liupieshan off-road base】
We chose the route of going up the mountain by the stairs on the left and down the mountain by the road on the right
Going up the mountain is estimated to take 20-30min, going down about 30min
The stairs are relatively easier to walk when going up, just hard on the knees, going down is relatively easier but uneven roads require attention to safety.
⚠️Travel tips:
1⃣️No matter how short the route, pay attention to travel safety, choose a time with good weather
2⃣️There are many mosquitoes and insects in the mountains, pay attention to insect and mosquito protection
3⃣️Travel essentials: sun hat, sun protection clothing, more than 500ml of water, power bank, tissues
Pay attention to safety when taking photos and checking in during the trip, the railings on the mountain top can't protect well from below, personal safety is the most important when taking photos.

Guangzhou Baiyun Blue Tears Check-in Guide
Today I climbed six mountains and checked in at the popular stone. If you also want to come, you can try this easiest and nearest mountain climbing route.
📍 Navigate to the entrance of Liupian Mountain
You can drive to the reservoir side, and parking costs 15 yuan.
✅ Climb up the mountain from the right side of the reservoir, there are signs all the way, just follow the cement road.
This route is relatively easy to walk, and doesn't involve much climbing.
The signs indicate the direction to the popular stone. It takes about 20 minutes to reach.
⚠️ The popular stone is on the edge of a cliff, with a wire fence nearby, but it's still very dangerous if you are afraid of heights, so be sure to pay attention to safety.
⚠️ The photos only look good when the weather is nice.
There are simple stalls selling tofu pudding and the like near the location of the popular stone, and quite a few people camp here.
⚠️ Swimming in the wild is not recommended
Tickets🎫: None
There is a mountain bike shop at the entrance for those who like mountain biking. Liupian Mountain

Guangzhou's Blue Tears, it's super worth it to spend half a day checking in at Liupianshan
🔥This mountain is really a treasure and has been popular for many years!
😊I've always wanted to climb Liupianshan~ It's so worth the visit
💙Guangzhou's free Blue Tears, the photos are really beautiful!
It used to be a rough mountain road, quite rugged and difficult to walk
💃🏻Now it's a well-repaired red brick staircase that's easy to walk on!!
We dawdled and took photos along the way, and it only took 30 minutes to reach the top
😋After descending, you can walk to nearby places to eat delicious roast chicken
📸Photo check-in
When you come here for a hike, of course, you can't miss taking photos!
🔺The big rock on the mountain top is a must-check-in spot, overlooking the sinkhole, it looks like a super large blue-green gem💎, really too beautiful~ (For photos, it's suggested to use a bit of wide-angle for a better view) Be sure to pay attention to safety!
🔺Mid-mountain check-in spot, there's a big rock where you can also see the pond, you can rest halfway and take photos. (Picture four)
🔺At the bottom of the mountain by the pond (Picture two), the water is very green! The color is super beautiful, with the tall mines in the background forming a strong contrast, any casual shot looks good.
‼️Be sure to protect yourself from the sun and mosquitoes, there are many mosquitoes on the mountain!
‼️Bring your own mineral water, go to the WC before climbing the mountain, there are restrooms at the foot of the mountain, but none on the mountain.
📍Liupianshan, Baiyun District
🚇Take the subway to Baiyun Dongping Station, then take a taxi to the entrance of Liupianshan, it's just a few minutes away.

Guangdong Guangzhou Liupianshan|The weather in Guangzhou is really comfortable for climbing mountains now
|The weather in Guangzhou is really comfortable for climbing mountains now.
Liupianshan is a small mountain range in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, originally named Liupiantian, named after the mountains stretch from Yongtai Village to Taihe Town, resembling six fields.
Here the air is fresh, the scenery is beautiful, the birds are singing and the flowers are fragrant, it is a paradise for hiking in Guangzhou.
The most attractive place is its sky pool, which is formed by the accumulation of water in the abandoned quarry. The pool water presents an emerald green color, like a gem embedded in nature.
Standing by the sky pool, you can overlook the scenery of the mountainside, feel the brisk mountain wind, and listen to the crisp sound of water.
Take advantage of the weekend to check in at Liupianshan, the whole journey can be completed in 4h, easy and stress-free, you can also see the sparkling lake and city scenery, it's really worth it~

👚Outfit sharing:
Decathlon three-in-one assault suit
🔹It has a fashionable tooling feel and multiple pocket design, it's really great for taking pictures, I really really really like it~
🔹It is tear-resistant fabric, enhanced wear resistance, even if you encounter a difficult to climb small forest mountain road, you are not afraid of tree branches scratching~
🔹The outer jacket has a water resistance index of 5000mm, it's not afraid of rain, the high collar design can also effectively prevent wind~
🔹The outer jacket is matched with a detachable down inner liner, one garment can be worn in multiple ways, it's also very warm in winter~
🧗Climbing route:
Liupianshan Gate→Big Banyan Tree at the foot of the mountain→Walk the flat mountain climbing road on the right→First Sky Pool Check-in Point→ Second Sky Pool Check-in Point→Return the same way
1️⃣After taking a taxi to the gate of Liupianshan, there is a large lawn on the right inside where you can picnic, it's very suitable for bringing children to play,
2️⃣Go further ahead and you will reach the big banyan tree We chose the right side of the big banyan tree to climb for 50 minutes, which is relatively flat; the left side of the big banyan tree can reach the top in 20 minutes, but it's quite steep
3️⃣Keep going up to about halfway up the mountain, you can see the first sky pool check-in point , and there is a very nice city view You can stop here to take pictures and enjoy
4️⃣Then continue to go forward, you will reach the final destination, the second sky pool check-in point, there are a bit more people here, so you need to queue up to take pictures, but it's really quite photogenic
5️⃣After taking the pictures, you can enjoy the scenery at the top of the mountain, watch the sunset, and then return the same way, the scenery down the mountain is also very beautiful, and you can see many little friends riding motorcycles on the way.

Regret knowing it late! The 'Blue Tears' of Yangcheng is not only in Shiyading Tiankeng, but also
Liupianshan, known as the blue tears of Guangzhou!
The reservoir under the mountain, under the sunshine
Will present a very nice blue-green color
The water in the reservoir is very clear
Walking along the reservoir at the foot of the mountain
You can clearly see the rocks under the water!
The road to the mountain is a mountain road
Compared to the stairs, it is relatively steep
At the same time, the sand is easy to slip
It is recommended to wear climbing shoes or sports shoes when climbing
Some shoes with not so smooth soles!
The overall difficulty of climbing the mountain is not high
There will be ropes to pull up the mountain
You can climb the mountain by holding the rope
It takes about half an hour to climb to the top of the mountain
Compared to Baiyun Mountain
There is a bit more of the original feeling of climbing!
The wind on the mountain is very strong
There are many small rocks to sit and rest
At the position where the national flag stands
There is a popular shooting angle
Overlooking people and the reservoir
Can produce very good photos!

Guangzhou Liupianshan | The first tear of Guangzhou
Liupianshan in Guangzhou is a branch of Baiyun Mountain,
Below is a blue lake known as "Tear of Guangzhou" or "Blue Tear". On sunny days, the sunlight shines on it and it appears blue-green, very beautiful and healing
Ticket: Free
Difficulty of climbing: Suitable for beginners
Climbing for oxygen
Subway Baiyunping East Station Exit B
Transfer to Bus 799→ Get off at Yongxing Village Entrance

📝Note tips:
1️⃣ At present, Liupianshan is still under construction. The scenic area is free, some management is not perfect, there are some risks in the wilderness, it is better to go out in groups.
2️⃣ There are no shops along the way, only at the Blue Tear of Tianchi
3️⃣ Check the weather forecast before going out, the ground is easy to get wet and slippery on rainy days, not suitable for climbing
4️⃣ Go to the toilet before you go, there are no toilets
5️⃣ Pay attention to safety when taking pictures, especially when taking pictures at the popular stone place
6️⃣ Because there are almost no people maintaining sanitation, there are few trash cans, almost invisible, so the trash you bring must be taken down the mountain by yourself, otherwise it will become a mountain of trash
7️⃣ There are many mosquitoes on the outdoor route, bring mosquito repellent
8️⃣ The left side is steep and it takes 20 minutes to reach the top of the mountain, the right side is flat and it takes 40 minutes to reach, but it is not easy to walk on rainy days

teardrop of Guangzhou
There’s more to Guangzhou than its skyscrapers, with mountains and scenic trails. 六片山 is very close to the city, situated in Baiyun district. It can be accessed via public transport, a bus, or even metro. But for ease, getting a didi to this place is quick and convenient. Once you’re there, the trail is easy and accessible. within 30minute of hiking, you’ll reach the top which you can see the famous ‘teardrop’. There are hammocks near the top for you to rest and chill out after hiking. as well as that, you can buy some water near the top. Once you’ve finished hiking, there are several shops near the bottom where you can enjoy a nice icream or beer.
