Jincheng Gaoping Lianghu | Visit the Shilang Mansion.
| Visit the Shilang Mansion. Lianghu Village in Gaoping, Shanxi Province is a living fossil of ancient Chinese villages. Legend has it that the Guo and Tian families once lived here, and it was known as "Lianghu" (Two Families).
It is located in the hilly and gully area in the west of Gaoping City, surrounded by mountains on three sides and water on one side. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south, high in the west and low in the east, resembling a phoenix spreading its wings. Ancient villagers chose this land to build a village, and generations of people built a group of ancient buildings with a well-preserved layout, clear context, and continuous landscape.
The 700-year-old Lianghu Ancient Village has a clear and complete layout. The village is centered on Guanyin Hall and Zushi Temple, with Hou Street, West Street, East Street, Taiping Street, and Panlong Ancient Village. The ancient streets are mostly paved with sandstone, with a well-preserved layout, clear context, continuous landscape, and a simple and heavy style.
Lianghu Ancient Village is not only a treasure trove of architectural art, but also an important birthplace of Jin merchants. Jin merchants are known for their diligence, wisdom, and integrity, and have had a profound impact on Chinese business culture.
