A tower full of love story 🗼❤️
#freehotelstay
Leifeng Pagoda is a 5 storey tall tower that located on the south bank of the Westlake in Hangzhou. Originally, it was built in AD 975 using brick and wood to celebrate the birth of a king’s son and once been named as Huangfei Pagoda (named after the concubine of the King).
After it collapsed in the year of 1924, it was then rebuilt in a modern way where there is a elevator to go to the tower and a lift to go up to the top to ease the tourists who visit here.
In fact, the tower is so famous because of a love story. A white snake turns into a young woman after thousand years of cultivating, met a young man, Xu Xian in Hangzhou and eventually fell in love with each other. A monk with magic power called Fa Hai then imprisoned the white snake under the Pagoda until she rescued by her son after many years.
Visiting to the inner tower, the entrance fee is quite expensive costs at RMB 40 per person. Personally, nothing special inside the tower for me but at the top of it, you will be able to enjoy the scenic west lake view. Worth it or not, it varies for everyone but i prefer to take the picture of the tower from a far distance.

A trip to Hangzhou, finally understood the West Lake in Su Shi's writing
📍The most beautiful corner of Gushan Road
The sunrise here in the morning makes the lake look particularly beautiful, with layers of orange shimmering on the water. Because of the morning fog, you can take these ink painting-like pictures of Leifeng Pagoda as you walk along the West Lake.
📍Suilu
After shooting Quyuan Fenghe, you can go to the intersection of Beishan Street and Yanggong Causeway on the opposite side. There is a staircase that can go up the mountain to Suilu to shoot the Leifeng Pagoda at a long distance. You need a telephoto lens to shoot here. I used 70-200 to crop the picture when I came back. The camera I used was Sony r4a with over 60 million pixels, which is very useful after retouching.
📍Sudi Stele
I took these pictures around 7 o'clock in the morning. There were no cars and people. These two pictures are the road in front and the road behind. I just snapped them together.
📍Quyuan Fenghe
Find the round door hole 'Liaoting', a classic shooting spot. Go to the opposite side of the lake, there are red maples on the left and right of the pavilion, with the reflection of the lake, which is also very photogenic. You can see this stone bridge as you go along, and the sunrise in the morning is also very photogenic.
📍Changqiao Park
There are several places where you can shoot standing on the bridge, and you can also shoot on the shore. I took pictures in several directions in the original picture, just share one, friends who go can look at more angles.

The iconic pagoda on West Lake
#bucketlistreboot
Leifeng Pagoda is a five story tall tower with eight sides, located on Sunset Hill south of the West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. Originally constructed in the year AD 975, it collapsed in 1924 but was rebuilt in 2002.
Leifeng Pagoda is the oldest colorful bronze pagoda in China. Climb to to the top of the pagoda and you can enjoy the stunning view of the West Lake, especially when the sunset glows over the pagoda. It is also a good place for photography.
The pagoda became a household name in Chinese culture thanks to the popular folk tale, "The Legend of the White Snake", a touching love story about a girl who changed into a snake and a young man. The story has been repeatedly adapted for traditional operas and also for modern movies and TV series. In the story, the couple are separated by an evil old monk with magical powers, who had the snake girl imprisoned under the Leifeng Pagoda for years. She is finally rescued by her son who caused the collapse of the pagoda.

Leifeng Pagoda in Hangzhou
Location: Leifeng Pagoda, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China
Entrance fee: 40¥
Date: October 2, 2021
Leifeng Pagoda is a five-storey tall tower with eight sides, located on south of the West Lake. Originally constructed in the year AD 975, the pagoda was named Huang Fei Pagoda after the old king's favorite concubine, who gave him a son.
It collapsed in 1924 but was rebuilt in 2002. The new pagoda opened on 25 October 2002.
Since then, it has become a popular tourist attraction.
At the entrance of the pagoda, there are two autonomous escalators to carry visitors to the base of the pagoda. You can also see the remnants of the old pagoda inside Leifeng pagoda. Each floor has a different view of surrounding area as well as interesting sculptures inside the building. On the highest floor, you can enjoy a stunning view of the West Lake and beautiful nature.
As this pagoda is the most famous place in Hangzhou, so it’s always crowded, especially during holidays. If you want to go upstairs, you need to stay in long and crowded lines to get to the elevator or just use the stairs. Anyway I think using the stairs will be more comfortable and faster, than waiting for the elevator.

Leifeng Tower - Hangzhou
Leifeng Tower in Hangzhou is very famous! It is also one of the must see places when you visit Hangzhou. I was surprised they have an escalator going up the pagoda! When you reach the top, you will see the amazing view of the West Lake and all of its surroundings! When you travel there during winter, just prepare yourself because its really very very cold when you are on top specially when the wind blows.

Free West Lake Tour: Ride a Red Bike (with Route Guide).
After visiting West Lake countless times, my friend from Hangzhou finally found the most comfortable way to visit: cycling.
How can you not ride a bike when you come to Hangzhou? This way, you can avoid the crowds and enjoy the tranquil beauty of West Lake. I have developed a large and small cycling loop around West Lake, and you can choose according to your mood.
This recommendation is suitable for tourists who don't mind cycling and is also great for workers to relax after work. Cycling to West Lake at sunset and night will give you a different feeling!
[Large Loop]
Cycling time: 1 hour
Route: Huanglong Sports Center - Yang Gong Causeway - Maojiabu - Wuguitan - Huagang Park - Prince Bay Park - Leifeng Pagoda - Jingci Temple - Zhejiang Art Museum - Hubin Yintai (for food)
Start from Huanglong Sports Center, ride into Yang Gong Causeway, and you don't need to worry about the route anymore. Just keep turning left counterclockwise. In less than an hour, return the bike at Hubin Yintai, have some snacks at Zhiweiguan, or something else, and go shopping for milk tea and bread before going home.
[Small Loop]
Cycling time: 25 minutes
Route: Internet-famous Road - Xiling Seal Society - Louwailou - Zhongshan Park - Autumn Moon over the Calm Lake (return the bike) - Broken Bridge
The advantage of cycling along Beishan Street is that you can ride on Gushan Road, where cars are not allowed, and you can stop and walk around at any time, saving a lot of energy.
[Bike]
Low-cost cycling means riding a shared bike. I highly recommend Hangzhou's city bike, the Red Bike! The only downside is that you need to return it to a designated spot, but there are many spots, so you don't have to worry about returning the bike. The first hour is free, and then it's CNY 1 per hour, with a daily cap of CNY 5. It's much better and newer than shared bikes. Just scan the QR code with your phone to use it.
This activity is so simple that you only need to start and execute it to complete it. You can enjoy the high-energy happiness brought by exercise, nature, and culture along the way. Even if you get tired or are attracted by the scenery, you can stop at any time, and it's okay to give up. It's a completely stress-free way to visit. I love West Lake more because of cycling and often explore every corner of West Lake!

✅ During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1522–1566), the pagoda was burned down due to suspicions of an ambush during the Japanese invasion of Hangzhou.
✅ After its collapse in 1924, it was rebuilt in 2002, retaining the style of the Song Dynasty pagoda.

Autumn Bliss at West Lake: A Stroll Through Hangzhou’s Timeless Beauty
#goingplaces
Visiting West Lake in autumn is like stepping into a living painting. The cool breeze, golden leaves, and calm waters create a peaceful, dreamlike atmosphere. Strolling along the tree-lined paths, I was surrounded by maples and ginkgo trees turning brilliant shades of red and yellow.
One of my favorite moments was watching the sunset over the lake from Leifeng Pagoda. The soft, golden light shimmering on the water, with mountains in the background, felt magical. I also enjoyed a quiet boat ride, drifting past small islands and bridges, each reflecting the elegance of traditional Chinese landscape art.
West Lake in autumn is serene and picturesque, capturing the season’s beauty and Hangzhou’s timeless charm. It’s a place to pause, reflect, and appreciate nature’s artistry.

"The beautiful scenery of West Lake in March" vividly depicts the charming scenery of West Lake in March.
In March, the West Lake, the spring breeze is blowing, and the willows are swaying. The willow trees by the lake hang down tender green branches, swaying gently in the breeze, as if they were elegant dancers, dancing the melody of spring. The lake is clear and sparkling. Under the sunlight, it sparkles with silver light. The distant mountains are undulating, reflecting the lake, forming a beautiful landscape painting.
At this time, West Lake is full of flowers, vying for beauty. Peach blossoms, cherry blossoms, apricot blossoms and other flowers are blooming, red like fire, pink like rosy clouds, white like snow, making West Lake picturesque. Walking by the West Lake, the fragrance of flowers is overflowing, intoxicating.

Hangzhou | A romantic date with paradise.
| A romantic date with paradise. 🌿The West Lake is a beauty that never ends. The lake sparkles under the sun, like a giant mirror. Walking along the lake, the breeze gently brushes your face, carrying the moist scent of the lake. The Su Causeway and Bai Causeway are like two green ribbons embedded in the West Lake. Here, whether you are admiring the simplicity of the Leifeng Pagoda or the chic of the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, it is refreshing. At that moment, it feels like all the troubles have been thrown away, as if you are one with this natural beauty.
🛕Lingyin Temple has a quiet and solemn atmosphere. Stepping into the temple gate, the scent of incense is overwhelming. The temple building is antique, and the eaves and arches show the precipitation of history. Here, listening to the chanting, watching the devout prayers of the believers, my heart becomes extraordinarily calm. It seems to have found a pure land of the soul in this bustling world.
🏞️Jiuxi Yanshu is simply a natural oxygen bar. Walking along the stream, the sound of gurgling water is endless. The trees are shaded, and the sun shines through the gaps in the leaves, forming patches of light. The air here is exceptionally fresh, take a deep breath, full of the taste of nature. Playing by the stream, feeling the coolness of the stream, it seems to be back to the carefree childhood.
🌟Faxi Temple gave me a unique feeling. Stepping into Faxi Temple, the yellow walls and black tiles are particularly eye-catching against the green trees. The buildings in the temple are stacked, with a strong sense of hierarchy. Every detail reveals exquisiteness and simplicity. Here, people pray quietly, or pray for marriage, or pray for peace. I also made my wish with a devout heart. The shelf full of prayer cards carries countless people's expectations and hopes, giving people a strong sense of humanistic feelings. Moreover, the architectural style of Faxi Temple is very suitable for taking pictures. A casual shot is a big picture, which allows people to feel the religious atmosphere and leave beautiful visual memories.
💕The trip to Hangzhou is like a dream. It has both the gentleness of the Jiangnan water town and the heaviness of history and culture. Here, every scene can touch the soul, and every corner is full of stories. I think this is the charm of Hangzhou, which makes people don't want to leave when they come, and they still miss it after they leave.

West Lake in Hangzhou
Whether it's the scenery or the emotions, it makes me nostalgic.
West Lake is vast and beautiful. If it's a sunny day in summer, I recommend starting your visit after 3 PM. When the clouds cover the sun, it's the best time for photos!
You can choose to take a boat tour of West Lake or walk around it. For me, walking is quite tiring; I couldn't walk any further after covering more than half of West Lake. But by walking and stopping along the way, I could visit the Zhejiang Museum, Ge Garden, Solitary Hill, and other places, and take beautiful photos.
I happened to meet the elderly man and his partner who became famous for singing Jay Chou's songs. I listened to two songs. The singing floated through the willow branches, gently touching my heart.
There were also uncles and aunts dancing gracefully in the pavilion, a beautiful scene next to the Broken Bridge.
West Lake vinegar fish and iron plate bass are delicious.

There is an elevator, with escalators before reaching the tower, and a direct elevator to the top, so no need to climb stairs.
Very friendly for those who have difficulty climbing stairs.
There is a queue for the direct elevator to Leifeng Pagoda, you can choose based on your personal situation, taking the stairs is not very tiring either.
From the top, you can overlook West Lake, the scenery is very nice.
It is recommended to walk down the tower, as each floor has different content, including exquisite carvings, murals, etc.
Overall, you can spend about 2 hours here, take more photos, and the tower is very cool.

A 'Haunted Ancient Legendary Tower'
Leifeng Pagoda, located by the West Lake in Hangzhou, is one of the most iconic landmarks of the area. Originally built during the Song Dynasty, this ancient pagoda has been destroyed and rebuilt several times, yet it remains a crucial part of the West Lake scenery. It is said that the pagoda houses Buddhist relics and is shrouded in many thrilling stories, adding a layer of mystery to it. Visitors can climb to the top of the pagoda to overlook the beautiful West Lake or explore the historical traces of this ancient structure at its base. Whether for the scenic views or the legendary 'haunted' tales, a visit to Leifeng Pagoda is an unforgettable experience.

Incredible Views of West Lake from Leifeng Pagoda 🇨🇳
Leifeng Pagoda is located on the South bank of the West Lake in Hangzhou, China. It was originally built in 977 AD but collapsed in 1924. In 1999 it was decided to rebuild on top of the ruins. Today you can view the ruins underneath and the artefacts that were found.
In the new pagoda which opened in 2002, there are five storeys with elevators and escalators to improve accessibility to guests. Leifeng pagoda has become a very popular tourist attraction, many people come here to get incredible views of the West Lake. I recommend coming here at sunset for even more beautiful view and amazing photo opportunity!

The Best Place to Enjoy the Scenery of West Lake
Hangzhou Leifeng Pagoda
The current Leifeng Pagoda is a new structure built on the site of the original pagoda. Upon entering the pagoda, you can see the remains of the old pagoda on the first and second floors. To go up the pagoda, you need to take an elevator, and to reach the top floor, you have to climb stairs after getting off the elevator. As it is a popular tourist spot, there are always many people, and the waiting line can be long.
The view of West Lake from here is truly beautiful, so it is highly recommended to visit.
