LAWSON Kawaguchiko Station Front Store has become one of the most famous photo spots in Kawaguchiko in recent years. During my visit, I was lucky to have clear weather. The neat and square building with its blue and white signboard gleamed under the sunlight, creating a stunning picture with Mount Fuji in the background.
Last year, due to the surge in tourists, LAWSON had to use a 'black curtain' to block the photo angles. When I visited in November, the curtain had been removed. Unfortunately, there were still many tourists, making it difficult to capture a photo without people in it.

A Convenience Store with a Million-Dollar View: Lawson and Mount Fuji
#japantrip #thingstodo #mountfuji #conveniencestore #lawson #tokyo #travel #japan #daytrip
Imagine grabbing a coffee or onigiri from a Lawson convenience store while gazing at the towering beauty of Mount Fuji—sounds unreal, right? But in Fujiyoshida, there’s a Lawson that has become an attraction in itself thanks to its unbeatable backdrop of Japan’s most iconic mountain. When I visited, I was amazed at how perfectly Fuji loomed over the store, making even a simple snack break feel special. It’s a fantastic photo spot, especially in the early morning when the sky is clear. Easily accessible by bus or train from Kawaguchiko Station, this Lawson isn’t just a convenience store—it’s an experience!

Convenience Meets Beauty: Lawson with Mt. Fuji as the Perfect Backdrop
In the heart of my Japanese road trip, I pulled over to a Lawson convenience store, not expecting much beyond a quick snack or drink. But as I stepped out, there it was—Mt. Fuji, standing majestically in the background, framed perfectly by the store’s glass doors. The contrast between the familiar, modern convenience of Lawson and the timeless beauty of Japan’s most iconic mountain felt almost surreal.
As I sipped my drink and grabbed a quick bite, I couldn’t help but pause and appreciate the moment. It was a snapshot of everyday life juxtaposed with nature’s grandeur—reminding me how Japan blends the ordinary and extraordinary. The scene felt like a perfect metaphor for travel: sometimes, the most surprising moments come when you least expect them, even in the most mundane places.
