Hello everyone, today we will share a #travel to Laos trip by ourselves for 5 days and 4 nights, along with travel methods from airplanes to sleeping in a bus for 10 hours (the first time in my life) to be a guide for those who want to go by themselves like us. Let's start. 🛵💨 ——— Day 1: Thailand - Laos 📌 Starting from Don Mueang Airport (DMK) > Ubon Airport (UBP) at a price of around 1,000 *If you book in advance, it will be even cheaper* You can bring luggage on the plane no more than 7 kg. 📌 Continue with Shutter Buss > Ubon Bus Terminal by walking out of the front of the airport and turning right. The fare is 20 baht. When we arrive at the bus terminal, we book a van to get off at Chong Mek border for 100 baht. *Note* The travel time is quite long + the car is not very clean. It is recommended to prepare headphones and wear a mask. And if anyone is hungry, you can eat here while waiting for the car to leave. 📌 Continue with a motorcycle taxi to the front of Chong Mek border. There will be both motorcycle taxis and locals. The price is 30 baht. When you arrive at the border, you can withdraw cash via ATM (Kasikorn), which will be the last ATM in Thailand. And bring cash to exchange with the locals in that area, along with buying a SIM card *Note* You must compare the currency exchange rate in each period well. Exchange moderately (when we went, the rate was 1 baht = 638 kip) 📑 The process of clearing the country is very easy. The first checkpoint is to check the passport, scan the face, and walk from the Chong Mek checkpoint > Wang Tao checkpoint to stamp the passport with the Lao official. There is a fee of 100 baht, and that's it. We can take a van from the checkpoint > Pakse to various areas. We chose to go straight to the hotel by paying 200 baht (Thai baht) 🏨 Pakse Hotel, Family Room, 3 beds, the disadvantage is that there is no window. The advantage of this place is that it is clean, safe, and breakfast is provided for every room. And there is a motorcycle rental service 📍Book a Sleeper Bus ticket with Chitprasong Company (Chitprasong Bus) at 320,000 kip or about 500 baht/person (cheaper than online). Travel time is from 8:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. or about 10-11 hours. *Note* Hurry to buy before the travel date because there are many people. Afraid of running out 📍Have dinner at Pho Lankham, the atmosphere along the Mekong River. The owner is very kind and lovely. The difference is the peanut sauce, which is a bit strange. After that, go to the accommodation. ——— Day 2: Zipline Tad Fane Waterfall 📍We woke up early, checked out of the hotel, left our bags at the reception, and traveled by motorcycle for about 40-50 minutes to our destination. There is an entrance fee to the waterfall and parking fee. 🏞️ Playing Zipline means the weight must not exceed 100 kg. We played normally for 1,690 baht, including video/photo shooting. The feeling while playing was very exciting because it was quite high. If you want it to be good, you should come to play during the rainy season. There will be more fog and greenness than this period. 📍After playing for about 30 minutes, we went to eat at Tad gneuang and walked around to enjoy nature. I must say that it was very beautiful. You can take pictures from many angles if you are not tired first. After returning from the waterfall, we walked around the city and took souvenir photos. #Rent a motorcycle to travel Southern Laos trip 2 days 1 night We traveled by renting a motorcycle from Pakse city. The main plan was to go ziplining at Tad Fane waterfall. DAY1 - We got a motorcycle from a rental shop in Pakse city. So we set the map to Pho Lankham restaurant to recharge before going out. After lunch, it was time to go. - From Pakse city, the next destination before going to the accommodation was Laos Coffee Bachieng restaurant. Stopped to get some caffeine before traveling. From Pakse city, it took about 25-30 minutes. - From Laos Coffee Bachieng restaurant, we went straight to the accommodation ‘Sabaidee Valley’. It took about 20-30 minutes. - We arrived at the accommodation at around 3 pm. We checked in, packed our stuff, and then went to Tad Fane. From the accommodation to Tad Fane, it took about 10-15 minutes. - Let’s go ziplining and enjoy the beautiful waterfall view. Then go back to have dinner at the accommodation's restaurant, which is delicious and very good price. After eating, it's time to rest and gather strength to continue on the 2nd day. DAY2 - Have breakfast at the accommodation before going to Tad Yuang. From the accommodation to Tad Yuang, it takes about 15-20 minutes, which is not far from Tad Fan. - When you arrive at Tad Yuang, stop to take pictures and see the beautiful waterfall view and the strong water flow. Things to know before going to Bolaven ☺️ #Sunee edition - Bolaven Forest is located in the south of Laos. - It is 1,200 meters above sea level. - You must have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months. - Lao PDR does not require a visa. - Suitable for adventurers because there are many activities. - Not suitable for beginners in hiking because the way down to the waterfall is very steep. If you do not exercise before going, it is quite brutal. - There are porters here (1,000 baht) / porter / trip. - Hiking starts from June onwards. - You have to walk through rivers and streams. I rode a Wave motorcycle following Phuri's trail to Pakse. I visited a cafe that used to be an old power plant during the war in 1971, back when the French ruled Laos. The walls are covered with bullet holes, bomb damage, remnants of fighter planes, and weapons from the war era displayed as decorations. It's super cool.

"Take the train to Laos" is the starting point of our trip to southern Laos with friends. 'Pakse' may not be the destination of this trip, but this is another interesting place. Both the houses and the food that I want everyone to try. Transportation ▪️ Walking There are not many cars, easy to walk. ▪️ Motorcycles There are many shops for renting cars. Or you can ask the accommodation. ▪️ Songthaew Convenient and fast If anyone wants to use the service, you can ask the accommodation as well. Because most accommodations have a songthaew number. As for the price, it is agreed (It is recommended to discuss the price before getting on the car.) Advice: Driving in Laos requires a little caution. Because driving is on the opposite side of Thailand. Driving at first may be a bit confusing. How to go ▪️ Bangkok > Ubon Sleeper train tickets can be booked on the website of the State Railway of Thailand (Don't forget to print the booking form on the day of travel). Get on the train at Krungthep Aphiwat Station. The staff will arrange a place for us to sleep and will come to collect the bed in the morning (adjust it to be a sitting position). And at the end of every train, there is a bathroom for use. For those who are afraid of being hungry at night There are also food carriages in the train, but if you are too lazy to walk, you can order food from the staff who will take the order. Advice: For those who like to travel as a female-only group, I recommend booking a female carriage because at night, they will lock it and prevent anyone from entering or leaving. There will also be a female staff member guarding the front of the carriage. The only disadvantage of the female carriage is that it is quite a long walk, both from walking to the train and walking to the food carriage. ▪️Ubon > Pakse We bought tickets to Pakse at Ubon Transport. We did not book in advance (I really could not find any information about booking in advance). We went in the morning because we wanted to arrive in Pakse in the afternoon. There are songthaews from Ubon Train Station to the transport station that leave in turns and taxis that are both fixed-rate and metered. Before getting on the bus, ask the driver carefully. After we have been on the bus for a while, he will let us get off the bus to submit documents to pass the border. Just follow the signs and you will cross to the Lao side. *Important* If you are going to stay overnight, do not forget your passport. After completing the border crossing, walk to get on the same bus to continue your journey into Pakse city. Advice: If traveling on Saturday-Sunday, there will be a 5 baht charge for overtime for the staff. And don't forget to bring 500 baht in cash for the round-trip border crossing fee. #Nature attractions It was the longest drive, but when we saw the waterfall, we were delighted. There were 3 waterfalls we visited: Tad Fane Waterfall, Tad Yueng Waterfall, and Tad Khu Waterfall, all 3 of which were beautiful. Tad Fane Waterfall had a ride called Zipline. The ride fee is cheaper in Thai baht than Lao baht. If I remember correctly, it was around 1,000 baht. The ride time was a bit scary, but very beautiful. When you cross to the other side, you will be asked to zipline for about 3-4 more lines and walk up a little bit (it takes quite a while to get back to the original point). On the first day of this trip, we changed lanes. It was a bit confusing, but it gave me a headache. Southern Laos, Pakse for the first time, we chose to book a hotel for 1 night in advance. To be sure that we would definitely have a place to sleep, we chose Pakse Hotel. We took a skylab car from the bus stop. He dropped us off in front of the hotel. We checked in in the afternoon and were able to enter the room. We stayed on the 5th floor. The hotel has an elevator. The receptionist was polite and lovely. When we arrived at the room, it was okay, clean and tidy. Following the general hotel standards, clean towels. The bathroom and bed were tidy and there were many plugs. The TV could watch many Thai channels, but in the room we stayed in, the air conditioner was at the end of the room. The bed was hidden from the air conditioner.
