In Lijiang, visiting Blue Moon Lake Valley was one of the highlights of my trip.. The lake was part of the Jade Snow Mountain tour which we booked a day in advance 🤩 The whole lake area is stunning, the crystal clear lake and water falls with the back drop view of the Snow Mountain is what made the trip memorable. The tour costed 650 rmb for the whole day.. The walk around the lake was beautiful as there are many areas where you can take stunning pictures on top of which you can wear the traditional yunnan costume and have pictures taken 🤩 You can take the motor vehicle from one place to another and the ticket costs 60 rmb, but it takes you towards the 3 tourist spots where the views are magnificent 🤩🤩 📍Blue Moon Lake Valley 🕰 08:00 - 18:00 💰 650 rmb for the whole package & 60 rmb for the car #passionpassport #staycation #summervacation

To visit Blue Moon Valley from Shuhe Ancient Village, Lijiang you can easily arrange a driver through your accommodation. The drive is around 45 minutes. Once you arrive you buy a ticket for 20rmb for the tourist bus that takes you to the scenic area. There is also a 100rmb park entrance fee. Blue Moon Valley is located at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Yunnan province, the Blue Moon Valley has four lakes. The turquoise blue water gets its colours from minerals. You can happily spend two hours walking seeing the different lakes and small waterfalls. I went in the afternoon and it was very busy. The Blue Moon Lagoon is just amazing, right under the Yulong Snow Mountain, consist of a few crystal clear lakes that come down fresh from the mountain, there is so many paths and good places to take photos and 3100ft up so you can breathe the fresh mountain air. We absolutely loved exploring it and took about 4 hours to see everything ontop of that you can pay for a cable car to hike up the mountain to see the snow, but you should book that in advance because it sells out fast! There's lots of food and snacks you can buy so don't worry about being hungry and there's lots of people so recommended to go midmorning then you don't feel rushed and have a proper time exploring ! #urbanexplorer#nationalpark#lakes

if you end up taking a tour like we did Inside the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic area, you can take a cable car to the top of the mountain to see the glaciers, visit the Yak or Spruce Meadow and then reach the Blue Moon Valley by bus. The scenery is unreal with the melting glacier water giving the lake this special colour. it’s just so beautiful.

Getting There - is easy to get with a DiDi there that cost around 80 rmb Attractions - entrance to the park cost 100 rmb plus 20 rmb of the internal bus to get to the valley, if you want you could also go the top of the mountain (~4600m) the ticket cost 170 rmb we did not have to use them but taking some oxygen tubes in case is recommended since lots of people suffer the high attitude Hotels - we stayed in Shunhe ancient town in a very nice hotel called Mansui Snow Mountain Hotel, is located around 40 minutes to the valley Food & Restaurants - the park has several small fast food and hot pot restaurants on the base Shopping - it is possible to buy small souvenirs almost in all bus stops #naturalwonders #lijiangtravel #yunnantravel #waterfall#themepark#nationalpark#lakes

Left our hotel at Shuhe ancient town at 730am to catch a sight of the sunrise en-route to the snow mountain. Headed up the glacier park cable car at 9am and it was a nice fulfilling challenge going up the stairs to reach the peak viewing platform at the high altitude. Headed down in the late morning for the blue moon valley and had a budget lunch buffet at the Snow Kitchen, before rushing off for the 250pm Impression Lijiang show. Found a good for value package on trip.com for the package above (excluding transport from ancient town). Between Ganhaizi and Yak Valley on Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, there is a river formed by the melting glacier water of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The water is clear and dark green, which is said to be because the snow mountain contains copper sulfate, which turns blue when it meets water. The valley is crescent-shaped, and from a distance, it looks like a blue moon embedded at the foot of the snow mountain, hence the name Blue Moon Valley. Blue Moon Valley is divided into four small lakes: Yuye Lake, Jingtan Lake, Lanyue Lake, and Tingtao Lake. They are not on the same level, and the height difference forms waterfalls and streams of various sizes.

Such a pretty place to go if you’re in Lijiang. Stunning views of the mountains and water is really blue haha! Even got to catch a lovely sunset on the way back to town, would really recommend coming here to enjoy the vibes and take some pictures

It’s a great sunny day at Blue Moon Lake with Yulong Snow Mountain as backdrop. Nice weather, good for families and couples to take picturesque photos for a long time to remember. Need to wake up early to get here and enjoy best views but totally worth the effort. Recommend all to try coming here once at least, this is near Lijiang in Yunnan. Let’s go and have the fun here! There are four lakes divided by small waterfalls and large rocks: Jade-Like Lake, Mirror Pond, Blue Moon Lake, and Wave-Listening Lake, each with its own unique beauty and atmosphere. You can take a bus from the main stop to get to the lake, but it is not recommended to take an electric car, which costs an additional 50 RMB, as it is more convenient to walk from the bus stop. The surroundings are full of pristine nature, and the sound of flowing water is very calming. Be prepared for some uphill walking, as it is located at a high altitude, but the beauty of the lake and the mountains will definitely make you feel the effort!
