And with 18 ski areas within an hour’s drive and big names like Heavenly and Squaw, its as clear as the western sky and the brilliant waters why skiers should put Lake Tahoe on their must ski radar. Lake Tahoe’s ski resorts are where its at in winter, with celebrities and pro skiers and riders alike congregating for sun, snow and a social scene not to be missed. In fact, Lake Tahoe is campaigning to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, like Squaw Valley did in 1960.

#fallingforfall Visiting South Lake Tahoe during autumn season is such a beautiful experience. While the place is better known for its winter sports and summer outdoor recreations, going here during the fall offers unique exposures and activities, but with the advantage of having less crowds as well as off season and lower lodging rate offers. While visiting, my husband, siblings and I had such a relaxing and enjoyable time going around South Lake Tahoe and checking out it’s lovely foliage during the fall season. From some outdoor activities, to enjoying the quaint local boutiques and restaurants, enjoying the beautiful lake view and hiking, this place surely have lots to offer! 😊🍂

While staying at Lake Tahoe we drove early one morning to Emerald Bay. Lucky we went early as we got the last carpark spot so best to make it a early start The views from the road are stunning, it is a nice walk down to the water/ beach on a good surface track. It is steep so as the sign says if you maybe can’t walk back up don’t walk down. Summer is the peak season, if possible avoid weekend which is slightly less crowded. At the little beach area, you can hire kayaks/ boats there which looked very popular, by the time we left there were a lot of boats out. The little island just out from the beach area must be one of the most photographed places in the country.

Personally, I think the highlight of the itinerary is that the water in Kayak Lake is incredibly clear. There are different places, such as the Jelly Sea in the north and the Jelly Lake in the north. We need to sign an agreement in advance to meet at Clear Tahoe in the Incline Village of North Lake Tahoe. We will take a dry bag with our life jackets and charter together to Sand Harbor XAdult/Adult Double (ages 18+) 218. We booked a total of quiet minutes, starting at 10am.
