Among them, Otsu City, Kusatsu City and Hikone City are relatively close to Kyoto. JR Railway has frequent trains. This time I chose Hikone Castle, a town far away from Kyoto. Depart from Gate 2 of Kyoto Station, take the Maihara Line and get off at Hikone Station. The journey takes about 50 minutes. Hikone Castle is a quiet town, without the bustle and activity of Kyoto, where you can take a breath and experience the slow pace of life. There is a first-class river in the town - Inukami River. Walking along the river, looking at the cherry blossom trees and feeling the cool spring breath, gradually, the open Lake Biwa appears in front of you.
