Lago di Braies, (aka Pragser Wildsee in German and Lake Braies in English) is part of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies nature park, in a side valley next to the Val Pusteria.
At an altitude of 1,496 m (4,908 ft), the 77-acre lake makes for a wonderful half-day trip while traveling through the Prags Dolomites.
On the West side of the lake, there is a small chapel that was built in 1904. The location has a curious bit of history related to World War II, as has the hotel.
It’s truly a beautiful lake, but has gained a lot of fame through Instagram and during the summer it can be filled with tourists.
Choose wisely when to go (it is beautiful also in winter when frozen) and reserve online the parking of you are going by car or motorbike.

Lago di Braies (also known as Pragser Wildsee) is one of the most famous lakes in the Dolomite region of Northern Italy. When I visited this lake, I actually drove into Northern Italy from Austria because I was hiking in that region. The drive was very manageable and extremely scenic. This region is Europe is absolutely stunning and I recommend visiting in Fall. The colours of the leaves on the trees makes you feel like you're in a fantasy as you drive past them.
To enjoy this lake to yourself (or with the least amount of people), please arrive as early as you can! Because it is such a picturesque location, this means many people are going to want to come here to take pictures. But only the most serious photographers will come before the sunrises. Also the reflection of the mountains on the lake looks more vivid! If you do want to take pictures, make sure you use a tripod and a remote to help you get the sharpest picture possible!
If you're looking to stay near the lake, I recommend staying at Majestic Hotel & Spa. It has great value for money and the spa is wonderful! I hope you enjoy your time there as much as I did!

The view of Lake Braies from above is the most standard angle, with the surrounding mountains and blue-green lake in the same frame, it is simply a twin of Lake Louise under the Rocky Mountains.
The view of Lake Braies from above is the most standard angle, with the surrounding mountains and blue-green lake in the same frame, it is simply a twin of Lake Louise under the Rocky Mountains. Lake Braies is also a color-changing lake. On cloudy days, the lake is closer to green, green with blue. If it is a cloudless blue sky, the lake presents a beautiful sapphire blue, like a piece of jade embedded in the mountains.
As the terrain continues to rise, the full view of Lake Braies gradually appears before my eyes, but there are always trees blocking the way, trying to disturb my sight. Lake Braies is a typical glacial lake with an average depth of more than 10 meters. It is one of the deepest lakes in the Dolomites. As the depth in the center of the lake deepens, the lake surface gradually changes from the emerald green in the corner to blue-green. Under the influence of wind and cruise ships, the lake surface is constantly rippling.

Visit to Price Lake
Visiting Price Lake was a captivating experience. The turquoise waters surrounded by towering mountains create a picturesque and artistic landscape.
The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, making it enjoyable to stroll around the lake. Walking along the surrounding paths revealed new scenery at every turn.
I also stopped by a nearby café to enjoy some delicious local cuisine.
I highly recommend everyone to visit Price Lake to appreciate the natural beauty and explore the area. It's an unforgettable destination! 🌊🏞️

🇮🇹 A crystal blue lake-Lago di Braies
When Lago di Braies under the sunlight-a crystal blue lake. There is a wooden boathouse in the lake, which you can take an ancient wooden boat tour on the lake, is very romantic 💕 and providing a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape.
Here making it one of the most picturesque and frequently photographed lakes in the Alps.
Who is hiking lover, there’s a popular 3.5 km trail that circles the lake, offering various viewpoints. The hike is relatively easy and suitable for all skill levels.
I think the lake is beautiful year-round, but the best times to visit are late spring to early autumn (May to September) for hiking and boating.
In winter, the area is often snow-covered, offering a completely different but equally enchanting experience.
Lago di Braies is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling through the Dolomites, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and tranquility. #italy #dolomiti #lagodibraies

Beautiful Lake in between Italy and Austria. The Lake of Braise is a wonderful place where you can be one with nature. Even the road taken to go to the lake is breathtaking. The whole lake can be walked in 1 hour but personally I think you should take your time and enjoy every moment of it

This lake is as amazing as Lake Louise in Canada. I recommend taking a boat ride on the lake, although it is a little expensive. I visited there in the afternoon and the view at dusk was amazing. But make sure to bring warm clothes. It gets a little cold at night.
At sunrise, Lago do Braies feels like it lives inside my laptop wallpaper.
The perfect turquoise blue water reflecting all the details of the surrounding mountains.
From this little wooden boat, I realized that I love the mountains on the beach.
(Well, if only I could get to them without having to climb too far.
I love the beach too. But I prefer the energy and peace and tranquility of the mountains.
So, which team are you on? Team Beach or Team Mountain?
