A French steakhouse with a unique style, excellent steak but low value for money
This French steak house was recommended by my sister. She has even tried all three branches and thinks the one in Central is the best. Although I personally think that eating a steak at the price of a buffet is not cheap, I still have some money left in my coupons, so I might as well splurge.
📍Location: Near Exit C of Hong Kong Station, go up the slope to the alley in Mid-Levels, about ten minutes.
🏠Environment: The facade is burgundy, the interior is quite large, the atrium is a bar, the walls are covered with watercolor paintings, there are red leather hairdressing chairs with red checkered tablecloths, and not much lighting, creating a French-style tavern, but the tables are quite close together☹️, you can hear the conversation of the guests next door completely, and sometimes you can't even hear your own voice😠.
🤵🏻Service: Orders are placed manually and a surcharge is charged, but some staff are a bit partial😒, for example, no one gave me water after I sat for a while😕, but foreigners were automatically provided with water😫.
🍽️Lunch: $398 set meal includes salad, steak, and fries. If you make a reservation through OpenRice, you can get a free dessert.
🧈Butter French Bread🥖
My sister really likes the butter he provides 🧈, it is indeed more fragrant than usual, 🥖 the French bread is just average.
🥗Organic walnut salad
The ingredients are mainly lettuce and walnuts, with a little vinaigrette, which is fresh and refreshing, but nothing special.
🥩Signature USDA Prime 10oz Ribeye Steak with French Fries🍟
This is the only main course in the restaurant. The staff first brought an iron plate with a small candle underneath to keep the temperature, and then two pieces of cut steaks, one rare and one medium, with three sauces (ketchup, mayonnaise and vanilla sauce). The medium-rare steak is softer 😉, while medium-rare will be a little tougher. Both beef have a little tendon and are soft and chewy. The taste is the same. The best part of the 👍steak🥩 is the charcoal-grilled aroma☺️, and the fries🍟 are not inferior. I think they taste the same as McDonald's fries🍟🤣, but my appetite is limited and I can't eat much.
🍋Lemon Meringue Tart🥧 $128 (original price)
The staff will push a wooden dessert cart and introduce each item one by one. There are 🍫Black Forest Cake🍰 (my sister said this one is unpalatable), Napoleon, 🍓Strawberry Cake🍰, 🌰Crisp Seed Cake🍰, etc. We chose 🍋Lemon Meringue Tart. The sweet fragrance of the meringue and the slightly sour lemon tart are just right😚. I personally think the quality is good😙, not as bad as imagined, but the original price is not worth it😅!
