Charming gem in Luang Prabang
Kuang Si Waterfalls are located in Luang Prabang, Laos. The waterfalls are absolutely stunning, with multiple levels of water flowing into many pools. I was amazed by the largest waterfall, it was incredibly beautiful.
There are different ways to reach the waterfalls. In my case, I rented a motorbike, which allowed me to stop anywhere I wanted to take photos. You can also go by van or tuk-tuk.
The hike to the waterfalls is very easy and suitable for everyone. At the beginning of the trail, there is a bear sanctuary where you can see many bears relaxing in their habitat.
I recommend this activity to anyone visiting Luang Prabang!

Kuang Si Waterfall is indeed a stunning natural wonder in Laos, about 45 mins away by car from Luang Prabang.
It is popular for its multi-tiered cascades of turquoise blue water, surrounded by lush green jungle.
The beauty of the falls, combined with the serene environment, makes it a popular spot for both relaxation and exploration.
The sound of strong cascading water is so calming and meditative, so no one should miss visiting this beautiful spot ok !

[🇱🇦Laos] The must-visit spot in Luang Prabang❣️No.1 spot╱Kuang Si Falls🩵
A must-visit place for everyone traveling to Laos❣️
Let me introduce you to Kuang Si Falls🤭
First of all, in one word, this is a place that is truly like heaven! 👼
Just watching the waterfall with its crystal clear emerald green water cascading down in multiple tiers is soothing.
If you visit on a hot day, the cool mist feels great.
And above all, swimming in the pool of the waterfall.
The moment you jump into the clear water is like a scene from a movie. If you get tired of swimming, you can relax while looking at the surrounding nature. 🌿
Access🛵
A hidden place in the mountains about an hour from Luang Prabang
Can be accessed from the city by shared van, chartered tuk-tuk, motorbike🛵, etc.🙆🏻♀️⭕️
A shared van is the cheapest way to get there, costing around 600 yen💸💗
⚠️Most departures are before noon, so it's likely to be crowded
We chartered a tuk-tuk (around 3,500 yen per car) to stay there before the morning tour crowds arrived☺️
By the time we left, there were a lot of people on the premises, so I guess it was worth chartering a tuk-tuk💗☝️
You can make reservations at the tour desk in town, at your accommodation, etc.😊
There is a walking path on the premises, and you can walk around it in 30 minutes♥️☺️
Forest bathing while soaking up negative ions is the best! 📍 : Laos🇱🇦 Less than an hour from Luang Prabang
Kuang Si Waterfall
💸: Entrance fee 20,000 kip (approximately 140 yen)

The Kuang Si Falls
The Kuang Si Falls is probably the most famous and visited place in the city of Luang Prabang. It is not near so I will take you about an hour’s drive from the city center. The waterfalls are gorgeous so no wonder why is so popular among tourists. It is totally safe to swim, even for children as it consists of several shallow pools. The water has such a beautiful light bluish-greenish shade, I though the pics about this place were photoshopped but in person you will see those true beautiful colours.

Magical looking waterfall in the Land of Laos
Kuang Si Waterfall: If you only have time for one activity in Laos, then this is the place you MUST visit.
Located nearest to the city of Luang Prabang in Laos, it is about 45mins drive away from the centre of town. Depending on your budget, there are several ways transport options like shared/private tuktuk, van, motorbike etc. I will recommend to get some help from your hotel to arrange a tuktuk for you.
Like the usual attraction, get there early if you prefer less crowd!
Swimming are allowed at certain parts of the waterfall, so bring along your swimming gears if you are up for an adventure swim! And respect the “no swimming” zone.
And like the photos shown, the water are turquoise in color, and together with the whole foresty background setting, the whole place just looks really magical!
This will be a trip you will never forget!

Best thing to do in Luang Prabang!
Visiting the Kuang Si waterfalls is the best thing I’ve done in Luang Prabang, Laos. The turquoise waters cascading into the these tiered pools made of limestone makes it really Insta-worthy!
The best part is that you can also take a dip in the turquoise waters at certain allocated areas! But please take note of the signs that says no swimming in certain areas as some of the pools are considered sacred to the locals. There are toilets at the lower levels of the waterfall for you to change. You can also bring some snacks and drinks to picnic at one of the tables there after your swim. Remember to bring along some mosquito repellent though!
Opening Hours: Daily from 8am to 5.30pm
Entrance fee: 20,000 kip
Hike from bottom to top: Takes around 15-20 mins and it’s a easy hike.

It is a a short drive away from Luang Prabang and makes an excellent day trip either via a package tour or book your own transport to get there.
The waterfall is three tiered and the path a well paved and makes it an easy and safe trek up for most people.
There is also a viewing deck to take photos and admire the waterfall up and it’s turquoise blue water up close.
It is really a must go if you are in Luang Prabang!

I Loved stopping at this place to see the Laos forest, the falls and the sun bears. I would have loved to have gone for a swim in the pools, but the crowds were intense ( and this was in February 2020 before COVID changed everything). Go early and take your time at the sun bear sanctuary...fantastic. great outing , as always loved the lush green and foliage growing on the way to the waterfalls . Great day with a bit of cloudness and cool weather . Then hot again but as we got there the kids jumped in . Water still cold .
We love it the small quietness during this time not a lot of people .
Good for family and kids

Kuang Si falls must be the original Garden of Eden ?? Just a magical day. Irridescant blue waters cascade down the hills with multiple drops and pools. Swimming is allowed in several areas so take your swimmers !! Great meal options at the Park gates. Only slight disappointment was having to walk through the bear sanctuary on path to the falls, I'm not a fan of wildlife tourism but they looked happy and healthy. A MUST SEE when in Luang Prabang.

The Gwangsai Waterfall consists of a large waterfall and several small waterfalls under the mountain. The total height of the waterfall is 100 meters. It falls from the limestone peaks and forms a pool under the mountain. It is a fairy-like blue-blue, dreamlike.
Just because of the infinite pool naturally formed at the top of the waterfall near the height of 100 meters, the Gwangsai Waterfall has two titles at the same time. It is the world's three "devil pools" and the world's top ten natural worlds. The swimming pool has become a favorite among many tourists.
Qishan, jungle, waterfall, the most uneasy wind, disturbing the dream of the pool, blowing the summer aroma, and giving the world a cool world.
樱殇之恋.
The Gwangju Waterfall in Luang Prabang is one of the city's most famous tourist attractions. It has plenty of water and humid air and is a natural oxygen bar. Although the waterfalls in the scenic area are not the most spectacular, you can swim under the waterfall.
Due to calcification, the pool that flows down from the Gwangsi Waterfall shows milk green. Therefore, there is a Jiuzhaigou called the mini version. Of course, it cannot be compared with the real Jiuzhaigou, but in Laos. In the landlocked country that does not rely on the sea, the Qishan Xiushui here is more beautiful than the seascape.

The Emerald Kuang Si Falls in Laos.
Kuang Si Falls located in Luang Prabang, Laos.
The multi-tiered emerald green waterfalls create a magical scenery 😮💚
It looks beautiful in photos, but it's even more stunning in person.
You can take a dip in the natural pools of emerald green water, which are very clear, though a bit chilly.
Around the falls, there are nature trails and a bear rescue center 🐻
In the city center, there are many temples, cafes, and massage parlors, allowing you to enjoy the local atmosphere and have a fulfilling sightseeing experience.

The most beautiful waterfall in Luang Prabang.
𝐊𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐢 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 Kuang Si Waterfall is the highlight of Luang Prabang that never loses its beauty no matter how many times you visit. This emerald-colored waterfall has all the perfect elements, including the height of the limestone mountains cascading down four levels, with a total height of nearly 80 meters. The rocks are a gradient of brown and white, blending with the soft, silky water that flows and hits the rock surface, creating a misty spray like a dream scene. The pool below turns turquoise, indicating its richness in minerals, forming a breathtaking frame. Anyone visiting for the first time will surely be left in awe.

Kuang Si Waterfall, known as the "Huanglong" and "Jiuzhaigou" of Laos.
On November 2, 2024, the 6th day of our trip, we visited Kuang Si Waterfall, known as the "Huanglong" and "Jiuzhaigou" of Laos. Due to its karst landform, the spring water is as blue as the sea, and there is a waterfall over 200 meters high, which is quite spectacular. You can put on a swimsuit and enjoy this paradise with foreign friends, experiencing the fun of high diving and forest swimming pools. There is also a "bear show," where a black bear leisurely watches tourists pass by to see the water and waterfall.

A super healing coffee shop with a huge rice field and few people.
One of the must-visit rice field coffee shops in Luang Prabang
On the way to and from Kuang Si Waterfall
I found a hotel with few people
And a high level of privacy
First of all, the afternoon tea looks and tastes great 👍
Whether you're with kids, daydreaming, or taking photos, this is an ideal place to visit ⛱️
On a sunny afternoon
I caught the tail end of the rice fragrance 🌾
The scenery in front of me was like a painting
Being in the painting, this is the vacation I was looking forward to
📍Pullman Luang Prabang
🚗 The hotel offers a free shuttle bus
🅿️ Free parking
⚠️
Many stores in Luang Prabang have poor environments
It is recommended to visit the physical store first before making a choice
