Rating: The local characteristic sea village of Hui people is about 30 minutes away from the ship terminal of Phang Nga Bay in Thailand. There are many homestays and sea restaurants here. The buildings are mainly wooden houses, full of many characteristic decorations of Hui people.
It was raining quite a bit when we just left the port and walked along the mangrove river from the ship dock. As the ship travels longer, it gets closer to the estuary. The rain has stopped! The clouds are gone! The weather cleared up too!
The sun shines on the sea, and magnificent mountains stand on the endless sea level. It makes people feel relaxed and happy as if it had not rained just now.
Soon we arrived at the Haishang Hui Village. What caught our eyes was a whole row of high-rise wooden buildings. Below the wooden stairs was a ship dock that looked like a fish raft. It is hard to imagine how the Hui Muslim ancestors who came here hundreds of years ago established this tribe on the sea.
Although with the injection of capital from modernization and tourism industries, it is no longer what it used to be. But we are also thankful that today’s residents are better equipped to defend themselves against the ever-changing dangers on the sea.
Our group had a set meal of eight dishes and one soup, which included Tom Yum Goong soup and a total of five seafood dishes, with free refills of rice. Next is a bottle of Coke and ice cubes. This amount of food is not to mention for a table of 10 people. I think even 15 people with small appetites may still be full.
As for the taste of the dishes, except for the curry crab meat egg and curry fried squid, which are a bit salty, the other seafood dishes are lightly seasoned.
The steamed fish and crabs are very fresh and taste sweet. The fried shrimps are huge. The fried chicken tasted hard and dry.
The best thing to taste is the Tom Yum Goong soup, which uses generous ingredients and has more ingredients than soup. If you don’t have enough, you can refill the soup.
Coke ice cubes can also be refilled. In Thailand, you have to pay for ice cubes, but here they are free to refill, which is very considerate.
2000 Thai baht, eight dishes, one soup, rice, cola and as much ice as you want. Not only are the portions here generous, but the prices are also very attractive.
