#weekendgetaways bring me to Johor Bahru for weekend shopping at Johor Bahru City Center. During weekends, there are many stalls set up here to sell clothes, food and handicrafts. This is a popular shopping mall for many Singaporeans during weekends. It is near the immigration checkpoint and has walkway shelter linking the immigration building to the shopping center. There is also a hotel above the shopping center. It is safe and easy access for shoppers and if you have luggage, it is also easy to use the lifts and escalator too. Don’t forget to bargain for some discounts when you are shopping at the weekend market.

It is open daily from 1000-2200, and just beside City Square Shopping Mall. Komtar JBCC successfully turned into a stunning and lovely shopping mall after a renovation. It is a three storey shopping mall that consists of a total of around 150 stores and services, featuring cafes, restaurants, hair salons and many more for you to discover.

As I was staying in Holiday Inn JBCC which was just on top of the komtar mall, I came down to the mall's 3rd floor where Thai Odyssey has a huge branch. I approached the staff to select my usual and quickly set an appointment because I understand that it gets super crowded during weekends.

Don’t miss out this unique and oversize dreamcatcher game right outside JBCC. The exact location is in between the ground level entrance of Citysquare and JBCC. They are open until 31 Aug and you get 2 chances to win and catch a drumstick per person. All you have to do is to share their videos and hashtag correctly to exchange for tokens. They also have a photospot to take photos too. The dreamcatcher is housed inside a KFC chicken bucket and when the door is open, the dreamcatcher comes out and you can start playing. It's our first time dining over here. The atmosphere was good and the prime location was also ideal. Staff was very attentive and greeted you with a warm smile. #johorjaya There are a few new eateries at Komtar Shopping Centre. Manzanita caught my attention as there was a crowd everytime I walked past the area. There are two parts to the eatery. Besides an area for diners to dine in, there is also a bakery side. As it is my first time dining there, I decided to order Chicken Shakshuka and Fried Calamari. For drinks, I ordered Berry Fizz and Caramel Macchiato. Besides mains, they also serve desserts too!

The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, ensuring both the guests and cats were comfortable. #malaysiatrip Just a few minutes away from the checkpoint, I visited the Komtar Shopping Mall at Johor Bahru. Yes I know we can find this eatery in Singapore but hey, it is cheaper in Johor so why not. I ordered the Fish with lime sauce, Green Curry Chicken Set, Prawn Egg Omelette Rice Set and Mango Salad. If you are eating at this outlet, please be patient as service is not as fast and when dining there, there were some flies flying around. Feedback to the cashier and I hope they do something about it! Hopefully the next visit will better!

#familytrips2024 Reached early to Johor but shops are not open yet? You can choose to have an early breakfast at McDonald's Komtar JBCC branch. This is not a very big outlet, thus seats are limited. Order can be through the self service kiosk or through the McDonald's Malaysia mobile order. The breakfast selections at McDonald's include Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng, which is not available in the Singapore menu. There are also other usual McDonald's breakfast selections such as McMuffin, Big Breakfast and Hotcakes.

Have visited tons of times whenever in Malaysia but still loving their soup bases as well as fresh ingredients with basket of mushrooms/veg serve up as a set. Super value pricepoint at Ard RM 40 onwards a set with yet comparable food quality with other big names that's double/triple the price. Definitely recommended 120% if you've not yet try this hotpot place pls go!

#weekendgetaways bring me to Johor Bahru for weekend excitement at Johor Bahru City Center for staycation. The kids like this place because there are kiddy rides for them just next to Holiday Inn JCC hotel ground floor lobby. The older children can take self-driving rides and the younger children can take the stationary rides. This month the theme is dinosaur, and the boys will like it better. There is a staff there facilitating the rides and you can pay him cash. Sometimes when there are no children in the queue, you can get to ride a bit longer. The area to ride these kiddy rides is pretty big too. You can walk over to JB city square too.

Similar to the atrium at the city Square, there will be sales at the atrium of the komtar JBCC shopping mall. Compared to the city Square mall which is just beside the komtar JBCC, there isn't much of a crowd when I was there on a Friday afternoon. The ongoing sales booths at the atrium are selling pillow casing and bolsters. You can visit there often to check out the various sales available. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers

Ground Floor Lot GF 78 & 79 Paradigm Mall Jalan Skudai Johor 81200 Malaysia The Tomaz is a local brand that sells leather shoes. The shop has more than 18 outlets in the entire Malaysia. As seen from the images, the ambiance and design of the shop gives a very luxurious feel. It portraits the branded goods aura. A look at the shop makes me want to walk in and make multiple purchases. Apart from their famous leather shoes, they also retail other items too. This includes gaming chairs and luxury watches and shirts. The luxury watch cost 1000 MYR to at least 8000my. Their shirts are also on a higher end pricing. With a tee shirt costing 250 MYR and above. However they do have sales from time to time. Sometimes even have a 50% discount. KOMTAR JBCC, City Centre, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia The komtar JBCC is located beside the city Square mall. From the Malaysian Johor immigration customs, you will need to walk 15 to 20 minutes to reach here. There are a few hotels opposite the mall. They include the trove hotel, amari hotel, and the five stones hotel. The komtar JBCC seems to be a quieter and lesser crowd compared to the city Square shopping mall when I went there. The mall includes lots of restaurants and two big apparel brands including FOS and the brand's outlet. Both offer cheap and good quality clothing with a wide range of choice. Do you know the road opposite JBCC is the MBJB walk way, located at Amari Hotel JB area. Yes, come over and visit this lovely recreation place. So far, it is safe and there are no suspicious people hanging around. There is also a traffic light pedestrian walkway to cross over. Please ensure all cars come to a stop before crossing. There are still a few drivers who continue driving despite it being a red light for them to stop. Here at the recreation place, you can find a lovely long river stream with fish swimming, a small playground and artistic benches. There is also a water fountain.
