[Kitakyushu Trip] Kokura Castle Garden
During a trip to Kitakyushu, I went to Kokura Castle Garden, which is a reproduction of a feudal lord's residence from the Edo period, located on the east side of Kokura Castle. In the "pond-walking" garden, which inherits Japanese traditions, you can walk around the pond and enjoy the various landscapes of the four seasons. At this time of year, the autumn leaves were beautiful. There is also a museum, with a permanent exhibition on the history of etiquette, A variety of special exhibitions related to traditional Japanese culture are held.
Samurai meals were on display, and I imagined them to be more modest, but I was surprised at how delicious they looked.
Until December 15th, a special exhibition by five contemporary artists from Kitakyushu City, "Takatsugu Ishibashi," "Miki Oba," "Toru Kajioka," "Shin Kamikawa," and "Koho Kurihara," is also being held.
I visited on a weekday, but there were many tourists from overseas, and it was bustling.
It was a wonderful place where you can feel the atmosphere of Kokura in the Edo period.
