[Nagano Prefecture] If you go to Zenkoji Temple, you must also see Kitamuki Kannon Hall!
Kitamuki Kannon-do in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture

The principal image is the Thousand-Armed Kannon.
The Thousand-Armed Kannon, which is built facing north, is for praying for benefits in this life, while the Amida Nyorai of Zenkoji Temple, which is built facing south, is for praying for rebirth in the afterlife in the future.
For this reason, worshiping only one of the present or future is considered a one-sided visit, and it is said that it is better to worship both.
The grounds have many attractions, including the main hall, Aizen-do, Onsen Yakushi Ruri-den, Fudasho Kannon-do, and Goma-do (Fudo-do)!
Bessho Onsen in this area was designated a Japan Heritage Site in 2020, and we also saw a foot bath along the way.
