I climbed Mount Batur in Bali!
I climbed Mount Batur, which is about 1000 meters high and located in the northern part of Bali. The view from the summit was spectacular, allowing me to enjoy the natural scenery of nearby mountains and the mountains on the neighboring island.
I joined a tour that started in the evening, watched the sunset, had dinner, stargazed, watched the sunrise, had breakfast, and then descended the mountain. It took about an hour and a half to climb the mountain, and the scenery visible during the climb was beautiful, making the hike enjoyable throughout.
The summit was windy and cold, so I recommend bringing a jacket when climbing. The starry sky was also incredibly beautiful, so camping overnight would be a great way to fully enjoy the experience.

6-Day Bali Bliss: From Sunrise Hikes to Underwater Adventures 🏞️🐟 (Part 2)
#hikingtime
Day 4:
Our day began with an exhilarating snorkelling trip, booked through *Ocean Rider Snorkeling*. We explored the vibrant underwater world of Bali's stunning coastline, swam alongside schools of colourful fish and manta ray. The crystal-clear waters and diverse marine life made for an unforgettable experience.
After working up an appetite, we headed to *Warung Be Sanur* for lunch. This local eatery is known for its fresh and flavourful offerings. We enjoyed their signature dish—fried snapper with sambal. The crispy, tender snapper paired perfectly with the spicy sambal withe rice. The simplicity of the setting added to the charm, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely and satisfying meal.
Dinner was at Warung SS, known for its sambal and authentic Javanese dishes. We opted for the grilled chicken with sambal terasi, a spicy yet rewarding local favourite.
Day 5:
After a few action-packed days, we decided to take it easy. Our day began with a visit to *Fore Coffee*, where we indulged in their signature cold brew. The minimalist decor and cosy ambience made it an ideal spot to unwind.
Lunch was a simple yet delicious affair at a roadside warung (food stall). We enjoyed a traditional nasi campur, a mixed rice dish with various side dishes, offering a taste of Bali's everyday cuisine.
In the afternoon, we treated ourselves to dessert at *Gaya Gelato*, where the rich, creamy flavours of their artisanal gelato were a delightful treat. The pistachio and strawberry flavours were our favourites.
For dinner, we chose *Warung Happygen*, a beachfront seafood restaurant. The setting was perfect for a relaxing evening, with the sound of the waves and a stunning view of the ocean. We enjoyed a feast of freshly grilled seafood, including prawns and fish, paired with a tangy sambal that added a delicious kick to our meal.
Day 6
We embarked on a thrilling hike to Mount Batur, starting our day at 12:30 a.m. with a 2.5-hour drive to Kintamani. The hike began at 3:30 a.m., and as we ascended, the anticipation of reaching the summit kept us going. The reward was a breathtaking sunrise, casting a golden glow over the landscape. We enjoyed a simple breakfast of Indomie (instant noodles) at the summit, a humble but comforting meal in the cool mountain air.
After our descent, we stopped by *Okuta* in Kintamani for lunch. It is a charming cafe nestled in the heart of Kintamani, known for its inviting ambiance and cozy atmosphere. The cafe’s design features a blend of traditional and modern elements, with wooden furnishings and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. It was a perfect spot to relax and recharge after our morning adventure.
In the afternoon, we pampered ourselves with a relaxing massage at *Piramid Spa*, where the soothing ambiance and skilled therapists helped us unwind. Dinner that evening was a delicious bebek goreng (fried duck) from a roadside stall, followed by a sweet treat of martabak from *Martabak Pecenongan*.

📍 Sunrise at Mount Batur in Bali, Indonesia-Mt.Batur
Speaking of Indonesia’s special geographical landscape,
I have to mention the volcano!
From Java Island all the way to Bali and Lombok, etc.
There are many well-known volcanoes such as Mount Merapi, Mount Bromo and Mount Yizhen.
Arriving in Bali,
Of course, you don’t want to miss the close contact with an active volcano!
Back to this holiday island again,
This time the focus is on "surfing, massage, and mountain climbing".
There are more than four cone-shaped volcanoes on the Indonesian island of Bali.
The largest volcano is Gunung Agung
At an altitude of 3142 meters, it is the highest volcano on the island.
He is called the father of Bali by the locals.
Gunung Batur is the second highest volcano in Bali.
With an altitude of 1,717 meters, it is also called the mother. Both volcanoes are still active.
This volcano last erupted in 2000 and is a concentric crater volcano of Mount Agung.
Among them, Gunung Agung
Due to frequent and violent volcanic eruptions,
It erupted again just a few days ago.
Therefore, the park is not open for entry.
But I have always wanted to climb a volcano to watch the beautiful sunrise.
Regarding Mt.Batur, there is not much information on the Chinese website.
But there are very detailed introductions on foreign websites.
In addition to shopping, surfing, massage, and delicious food when coming to Bali,
If you have time, I highly recommend taking a trip to an active volcano.
This is a volcano that requires a mountaineering guide.
This means taking part in local hiking tours is a must.
There is a sunrise itinerary on the Chinese website.
But the cost is NT$2,000-3,000.
It is recommended to go to foreign websites.
Or go to a local travel agency to buy an itinerary and bargain, haha!
I live in Kuta district,
It takes two and a half hours to drive from Kuta to the volcano trailhead.
In order to catch the sunrise at 6:20,
It means we have to set off at one or two in the middle of the night.
At that time, I purchased my itinerary from a local travel agency.
The original asking price was US$75, equivalent to 1,000 thousand Indonesian rupiah.
I said I saw a 480,000 itinerary on the Internet.
Last 500 thousand sold👍
(So be sure to compare prices carefully!)
🌋The itinerary includes:
-Pick up and drop off at the hotel at 1:30 in the middle of the night
-Simple breakfast
-Mountain guide
-Return transfer
-All entrance tickets and fees
The road conditions to the mountains are not very good.
The road is also very narrow. After we got off the bus,
Two very young little girls and little boys came,
Give each of us a flashlight🔦
There is also a box of simple breakfast (two pieces of toast, banana, boiled eggs)
So we set off! ! ! !
BTW, the starry sky that night was so beautiful.
After leaving New Zealand, I never saw the Milky Way again!
About two and a half hours of climbing,
Along the narrow gravel road,
The volcanic ash terrain is not easy to walk on.
The second half is very steep.
Watching the sky gradually turn from black to dark blue, light blue, and purple,
The distant skyline gradually turns orange.
The stars are still hanging high, and Mount Agung is spewing smoke in the distance.
The sea of clouds seems to be stepping on my feet,
We sit together,
Sitting on a volcano,
Enjoy hot coffee together☕️
Looking at the sun rising slowly in front of me,
Sitting next to me were backpackers from different countries.
Everyone is working hard on their own way,
We have the destiny to gather together and celebrate together today,
Inject new energy into each other,
Then each embarks on his own journey.
-
On the way down the mountain, due to the relationship between volcanic ash and small rocks,
It's easy to slip, so everyone walks carefully
Therefore, there are often traffic jams on the downhill section.
But it also gave us the opportunity to appreciate the scenery in front of us.

Enjoying Sunrise at Pinggan Kintamani Villag
Mount Batur is an active volcano in Kintamani District, Bangli Regency, Bali, Indonesia. The southeastern side of the 10×13 km caldera contains mostly caldera lakes. Both the larger caldera, and the 7.5 km smaller caldera were formed by the collapse of the mountain's magma chamber, the first larger collapse occurred around 29,300 years ago, and the inner caldera collapsed a second time around 20,150 years ago.
Mount Agung is considered the embodiment of Purusha (male) and Mount Batur is considered as the embodiment of Pradhana (female). Between Purusha and Pradhana cannot be separated because they always synergize to give birth to fertility and create prosperity for the community. Mount Batur is one of the ancient mountains on the island of Bali. The right time to enjoy Surise It departs at 4 in the morning from Denpasar"

Another Place to Hunting Sunrise in Bali? you can come to Mount Batur, there are two options:
1. go Trekking to Mount Batur
2. take Jeep tour to Mount Batur
This time i choose join a private tour “Jeep Adventure”. Mount Batur Sunrise Jeep Adventure is great choice for people who extremely hard to get up too early and not Interested in hiking but keen to see sunrise from Mount batur.
After from Mount Batur the trip going to another & must visited place in this area, “Black Lava”. This was another excellent trip to Batur with it’s black lava sand. It rewarded the adventure riders with an amazing sunrise as they descended into the volcanic crater of Mount Batur at 6am. Clouds were hugging the crater rim and as a result reflecting the scarlet hue or the rising sun.
And Last place to visit is Coffee Plantation in Ubud, where you can try many kinds of coffee & tea in here!

Amazing Sunrise at Mount Batur
Last year, I had the opportunity to climb Mount Batur in Bali, and it was an absolute thrill! If you're looking for an unforgettable experience, make sure to add this to your Bali bucket list.
My journey began in the wee hours of the morning, as I joined my private hiking guide. With our torchlights illuminating the path, we slowly made our way up the mountain. The climb wasn't too strenuous (about 2 hours up), but it definitely got my heart pumping.
As we reached the summit, the sky started transforming into a canvas of vibrant colors. The first rays of the sun began to peek over the horizon, casting a golden glow on the stunning landscapes below. It was pure magic!
The view from the top was absolutely breathtaking. I could see the majestic Mount Agung in the distance, surrounded by lush greenery and serene lakes. It was a moment of pure serenity, and I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for being able to witness such beauty.
So, if you find yourself in Bali, don't miss the chance to climb Mount Batur for a mesmerizing sunrise. It's a remarkable experience that will leave you in awe of nature's wonders. Trust me, you won't regret it!

Visiting Cleanest Village In the World
Penglipuran is one of the traditional villages of Bangli Regency, Bali Province. This village is famous as one of the tourist destinations in Bali because of its people who still carry out and preserve traditional Balinese culture in their daily lives.
The architecture of the building and land management still follows the concept of Tri Hita Karana, the Balinese philosophy of the balance of the relationship between God, humans, and the environment.
Penglipuran Bali Village is one of 3 villages that has been named the cleanest village in the world.
Through the years, Penglipuran village has evolved into a community-based tourism destination. You’ll need to buy a ticket to enter the village and you’ll find that some villagers run shops inside their homes.
The village is a highlight on tours to the island’s eastern region, conveniently along the same course with the scenic rim of the Mount Batur crater and the village of Kintamani.

Trek Bali's most iconic volcano!
#balitrip #bali #hike #trek #volcano #mountain #batur
Mount Batur is a UNESCO heritage site and an active volcano. It’s one of the most popular sights in Bali and the most popular hike in Bali because it's a beginner-friendly climb, and you get to see amazing views (in good weather). Its elevation is 1717 meters. If you're relatively fit you can reach the summit within 2 hours.
It's worth it if you're looking for is some time out in nature, some exercise and an epic sunrise. However the mountain can get crowded, with up to 600 hikers a day. Everyone needs to go with a guide so the most popular way to trek this is to book a tour, so you’ll most likely be in a group along with many other groups of people, all trekking up at the same time.
If you’re doing the sunrise hike, you’ll have a very early morning start. Hotel pick-ups can be anywhere between midnight to 2am depending on where you are staying. If you are in Ubud, it's about an hour ride (especially in the middle of the night when there is very little traffic). You’ll then stop for some coffee and simple brekkie and then make your way with your group to the base of the mountain. Then you hike most of your way up in the dark with flashlights. It’s a volcanic mountain so the ground is black sand/dust and rocks, not lush greenery. Your shoes will get DIRTY.
Ideally you should dress warm as it gets chilly at the summit before sunrise. It is a great experience, hiking up in the dark and then seeing the beautiful sunrise with stunning views. Highly recommend!

Oculus Bali
The view was mesmerizing and the food was tasty but it was not the quality of a 100k+ meals. But if I take into account the location of this restaurant, it was understandably overpriced.
Another minus point.. it was so hard to get the servers attention to take our orders or ask for anything, they were so understaffed. We also waited 45 minutes for our food to be delivered cold.
Overall, nice meals and beverages, bad customer service.

Golden hour at Mount Batur
Golden hour at Mount Batur, absolutely awesome and breathtaking!! We woke up at 1:30am and the driver came to pick us up at 2:30am from our hotel, started our hike at around 3:40Am. The hike is definitely not the easier hike, cause we were hiking in complete darkness!! We were so thankful for the experienced tour guide to guide us!
The hike was about 2 hours, difficulty level maybe 6/10, mainly because it’s very dark and slippery. There are many tourist here as well, you can even go up in a Jeep if you’re lazy to hike! But we took up the challenge to hike 😆
The mountain was so cold once we were there, remember to bring a proper sweater! But the view made everything worth it, it’s really the most beautiful sunrise ever!
You can hike further up to see the steam from the volcano, can even warm your hand and body there! Really high recommend this place!!

Conquering an active volcano 🌋
When in Bali, never ever miss out on an unforgettable, unconvential experience. Beyond the islands, beaches, and nightlife, travel up north into the cultural heart of Bali and go on a sunrise trek up Mount Batur - one of Bali's active volcanoes!
Mount Batur stands at an imposing 1,717m high, and is still active! Its most recent eruption was in 2000. The sunrise trek begins at roughly 3.30am, and everything is provided: sticks, flash lights, refreshments and breakfast. Our guide was fantastic: he was encouraging, helpful, and funny. Your guide will also make breakfast for you at the summit, including hard-boiled eggs cooked in the steam from the volcano!
The beginner-level trek (1.5-2 hours) though at some parts challenging, is worth it. The sunrise is stunning at the summit - you can even see Lombok from there! It was a personal and emotional moment for many - I dare say it's a life-changing experience, so do not miss this when in Bali.
Tips to conquer Mt. Batur:
1. Have enough rest the day before
2. Bring a light jacket
3. Wear shoes with strong grip

VOLCANIC MOUNTAIN HIKE
Booked a last minute tour on to Mount Batur in Bali and was not disappointed at all!! The highlight of our trip was this hike. Skyline is amazing as you hike up trying to catch the sunrise, the stars in the sky embraces you and when you reach the peak, the sunrise on this volcanic mountain may be unmatched. Highly recommend and a must do when you’re in Bali. Also got lucky and took a dirt bike down instead of hiking #hike #mountbatur #bali

Volcanic field in Bali 🌋
If you’re in Bali with friends or family, this trip is a MUST! The tour company picked us up from our hotel and drove us to Mount Batur for a sunrise experience, followed by a visit to the lava fields down below. The trip was bumpy, however beautiful once you got to the site. The driver of our jeep was kind enough to take photos, mysterious and funny, to commemorate our journey! #hikingtrails #sunrise #mytripvlog #urbanexplorer #nationalpark #2023travelwish #bali #asiatrip

Sunrise jeep ride 🌄 Bali
I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone! There are plenty of options for hiking and taking a jeep tour to the top of the mountain for sunrise. From Ubud, we left our hotel at 3:30 am and were picked up by the guide company.
We then arrived at their home at 4 am where we were treated to a breakfast of banana pancakes. We arrived at the bottom of the mountain at around 5 am to begin our adventure to the top of the mountain in a jeep. When we got to the top of the mountain, it was a wait for the sunrise with beers we had brought with us. There was a shed toilet at the top (which you had to pay to use - being roilet roll).
There were so many cars and people already waiting at the top of the mountain and by the time we got there, there was only a few spots left. It was an amazing experience shared with so many people from so many different places and I would recommend this to anyone!
The tour lasted roughly 8 hours as we asked our tour company to drop us off at the Tirta Empul Temple on the way back to our hotel. It cost roughly £50 each. #temple #bali #passionpassport #campingglamping #mytripvlog #urbanexplorer #tripblazers #awesomepic #sunrise #hikingtrails

Batur sunrise trek
Booking our guide for the Mount Batur sunrise trek made the whole journey very smooth. He came to pick us up around 2am in the morning and drove us to the foot of the mountain. We got to catch the lovely sunrise from the top of the trek and drank some hot milo. Do bring a windbreaker as it gets quite chilly up there. Enjoy the gorgeous scenery and the hot spring at the other side of the trek too!

Mount Batur
Mount batur
Our tour guide picked us up at 2am, we started our journey and stopped at a small cafe for banana pancakes and tea and coffee. We then made our way to the start point of the trek at the bottom of mount batur.
We started the trek at about 3:45am. Our tour guide was really helpful, gave us torches and bottles of water. The start of the trek isn’t too bad, it’s fairly flat, and then you start to climb. The first half there is also a road so if you’re one who doesn’t want to do as long a trek you can get a lift to the half way point. At the halfway point the tel gets a lot harder. We were all beginners and it was a struggle for us to climb up this volcano and we only had nine trainers so not the best footwear but it was still achievable. The terrain gets very rocky and as it is a volcano some spots are quite slippery where it’s gravelly.
We made it to the top around 5:35, so had around 50 minutes till sunrise. Our tour guide went to get our second breakfast which was included in the tour, however this was a bit random; a boiled egg and banana sandwich’s. We started to decent around 6:45am, we took the easier route down but this although isn’t as rocky it is very slippery due to the volcanic rock. We had to get our driver to collect us at the halfway point so make sure you’ve got their contact details incase you can’t make it back to the bottom as this is a tough trek.
We finally made it back to our hotel which was in Ubud at 9am. It’s was a great Experience but I wouldn’t do it again and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who isn’t sturdy on their feet.

Romantic Bali.
In 2023, for the first time traveling abroad, I have compiled the latest and most comprehensive travel guide for Bali. If you plan to visit Bali, this article is all you need.
No.1 Nusa Penida Island State, Benida
Bendida Island is named after its English name, such as Bendida Island, Peinida Island, etc. It takes about an hour to get to Bendida Island by boat. There are two sightseeing routes on Bendida Island:
1. Western attractions: Borang Cliff, Elf Beach, Tian Shen Bath, Tian Xian Crevice.
2. East Route Attractions: Diamond Beach, Instagram Treehouse, Atuh Beach, Chocolate Hills, Thousand Islands Viewpoint
No.2 Lover's Cliff
Behind the Lover's Cliff lies a tragic love story. Legend has it that a young couple with improper backgrounds fell in love, but the girl's father was the village chief and their love received no blessings. In despair, they both jumped into the sea.
No.3 Monkey Forest, Saint Monkey Forest Park.
The Sacred Monkey Forest Park is about 20 kilometers from Denpasar, and the local Balinese macaques live in the forest. Balinese people believe that monkeys are the subordinates of the monkey god Hanuman and should be worshipped as gods.
No.4 Batuur Volcano
Around the Batuul volcano, crops such as citrus, bananas, coffee, and coconuts are planted. The customs of the villagers in this area are also different from those of ordinary Balinese people. They do not practice cremation or burial, but instead practice sky burial.
No.5 Melasti Beach
Melasti Beach is located in the southernmost part of Bali, also at the bottom of Bali. Here, there are towering cliffs, pristine white sand beaches, and calm waters that are perfect for snorkeling, swimming, and sunbathing. Above the cliffs is the famous international luxury hotel, BavanTree.
No.6 Tanah Lot Temple
Tanah Lot Temple is one of the most important seaside temples in Bali, dedicated to the sea god. The temple is located on a huge rock by the sea, and during high tide, the rock is surrounded by water, isolating the temple from the land. It is only connected to the land during low tide. There is a small pavilion on the opposite shore where visitors can enjoy the sunset view, making it a major attraction in Bali.
No.7 Pura Tirta Empul Temple
The Tirta Empul Temple is located in Tampak Siring, north of Ubud. The temple is built around a holy spring and is named after it. For over a thousand years, Balinese people have believed that this temple and the two bathing places here can provide health benefits, as the spring water is said to have healing properties. The architecture of the Tirta Empul Temple is grand and complete, and you can see the characteristics of all the temples in Bali here.
No.8 Ubud Palace
The palace is located in Ubud, a well-known art town in Bali. It was built in the 16th century and designed by famous artists. There are 60 rooms in total, and the entire palace is grand in scale, especially the entrance. The exquisite hand-carved decorations and luxurious gold leaf decorations inside the palace are breathtaking.
No.9 Internet celebrity swing
The viral swing and bird's nest are in Ubud, with a high shooting rate, so there are a lot of people and long queues are needed.

Catching the sunrise from Mt.Batur
I opted for 4x4 jeep tour (1,200,000 IDR for 2 pax) up to Mt. Batur instead of hiking. Woke up at 4am and taking the drive up the mountain was both thrilling and breathtaking. The early morning air is crisp and the sky is still dark, but the anticipation of the sunrise is palpable. As the sun begins to rise, the sky is illuminated with a beautiful orange and pink hue. The views of the surrounding countryside were simply stunning. I would highly recommend this adventure to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in Bali.
Looking forward to hiking up Mt. Batur next time!

The second highest peak in Bali, mount Batur
No visit to Bali is complete without a sunrise trek to Mount Batur. We climbed to the peak of this former volcano in an October visit. At over 1000m high, a good degree of fitness is required to climb.
Many tours will include pick up services at 2 or 3am from Ubud and Seminyak. Unfortunately we encountered lots of cloud cover on our trek, but it was still a great experience to meet new friends too!

Spectacular Views 😍 (Mt. Batur)
Getting There - Best to arrange with a guide as there are fees involved when climbing the mountain. It’s about a 2 hour trek for the average fitness level.
Attractions - There are radish fields on the way up and a ton of nature (obviously). At the peak there’ll be cracks that produce steam and volcanic sediments as well
For the nature lovers, this is something not to be missed when in Bali. The trek isn’t too difficult and can definitely be done even by the most novice hikers; you’d just have to start earlier to catch the sunrise.

Kintamani, Bali
Mountain side of Bali, Kintamani.
If you wanna escape from crowded places or warm weather, I recommend you to visit Kintamani. There is a lake surrounded by mountains, so the weather will be cooler and air is very clean. Also, because there is no annoying lights from the city center, you might be able to see beautiful stars at night.

Mt. Batur, Bali
Absolutely stunning views, and some really interesting facts about the mountain which took me by surprise.
Me and my partner did the sunrise hike, I would say that it is reasonably challenging as the conditions underfoot are unstable and a bit slippery but more than manageable if you are relatively fit.
The way up is steep, and as you ascend it does get pretty cold, so make sure to bring a jumper with you because when you stop at the top you will cool down. The views from the top are breath taking, and if you are lucky to get a cloud free sunrise it is beautiful. We hiked the long way round and back, checking out the hot steam coming out of the active volcano, saw the black lava flow and temple. I would recommend.

Waking up to ricefields & a volcano 😍
#newyearadventure
A new year means new adventures, new travel destinations, and new experiences. I'm glad I got to visit Mount Batur for the very first time! Despite having been to Bali many times, I'd never been to the active volcano. And wow, what a morning it was. This experience at Mount Batur has become my favourite moment ever in Bali.
Mount Batur is located in Kintamani (north of Ubud), and stands at 1,717m tall. It was formed nearly 30,000 years ago, and watches over the whole of Bali. The view from the surrounding rice fields was beautiful. If you have the time and energy, I highly suggest going for a hike up the volcano. The local guides are very friendly and helpful!
For the new year, let's experience many more first-times during our travels. The view of Mount Batur towering over the lush green ricefields somehow inspired me to always look forward to my future, and beyond all possible horizons... seize each moment that comes!
Tips for visiting Mount Batur:
1. If you're hiking up, get a local guide and wear warm clothing.
2. Wear good hiking shoes.
3. Bring insect repellant!

Sunrise tour to Bali Mount Batur.
Took the jeep tour up Mount Batur, no hiking involved. Worth every cent.
At the bottom of the Mountain where you are transferred to the jeep ride, it’s quite chilly before sunrise. There are shops renting windbreaker/ jacket. But trust me, it’s not necessarily. It gets warmer when the sun is up.
Road up is narrow and bumpy. But worth it once you reach the top.

Kintamani is well-known for its active volcano and beautiful Lake Mount Batur. It is located in Ubud, Bali. We took a day tour there to see the majestic Mount Batur Volcano. The package also included a buffet lunch and visiting the nearby traditional crafts village and Tegalalang Rice Terrace. There were quite a few restaurants there that offered a nice dining experience with a stunning view. Such a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.
