Suspended in the clouds at over 2,000 meters above sea level, this magical ecosystem is one of the most surreal and otherworldly places we’ve ever visited. What Is the Mossy Forest? The Mossy Forest is a natural cloud forest located near to the summit of Mount Brinchang, one of the highest peaks in the region. Constantly shrouded in mist, the forest is cool, damp, and teeming with moss-covered trees, twisting vines, rare orchids, ferns, and exotic insects. It’s like walking into a living, breathing jungle straight out of a dream. Getting There You can reach the forest by car or guided tour from Tanah Rata or Brinchang. Also you can take a local bus to the turnoff to the forest and hike up for 6 km. It's a tough walk for those who like hiking like us. The road passes through iconic tea plantations. The final stretch to the forest entrance is a steep, narrow mountain road. What to Expect There’s a wooden boardwalk trail that winds through the forest, making it accessible even if you’re not a hardcore hiker. As you walk, you'll feel like you're floating through the trees — sometimes you literally are! The moss hangs from every branch, and the cool air feels like a refreshing contrast to the lowlands. Don’t forget to look out for: Pitcher plants (some of which are carnivorous!) Wild orchids Tiny critters and colorful fungi Best Time to Visit Try to go in the morning when the sky is clearer and crowds are smaller. Rain is common, so pack a light raincoat and wear non-slip shoes — the boardwalk can get slippery. Travel Tips Wear layers: It’s chilly up there! Make sure to have good hiking shoes Combine your visit with a trip to BOH Tea Plantation, just nearby. 🗓 Day 1 – Garden Vibes & Night Market Fun After arriving in the afternoon, we started with a visit to one of the colorful flower gardens — bright blooms, fresh air, and cute spots to take photos. In the evening, we went to the Cameron Night Market (Golden Hills). It was lively and full of local snacks, souvenirs, and cozy street vibes. A nice way to end the day! --- 🗓 Day 2 – Tea Views & Chill Exploring This day was all about tea! We visited BOH Tea Plantation and Cameron Valley Tea Farm — both offered stunning views of the green hills and peaceful surroundings. Just walking through the plantations and enjoying the cool wind felt refreshing. We also dropped by small shops and scenic points along the way. It was slow, relaxing, and beautiful. --- 🗓 Day 3 – Morning Market & Heading Home Before leaving, we visited a morning market — lots of fresh vegetables, flowers, and local snacks. The vibe was calm and local. After that, it was time to drive back — but the whole trip felt longer (in a good way) because of how peaceful everything was. --- Cameron Highlands is perfect if you just want to breathe fresh air, enjoy nature, and take it slow. The bathroom, with its separate wet and dry areas, exudes freshness and cleanliness. We brought our own fruits and snacks for the stay, and one night simply wasn't enough. We've already decided to return for another visit. For breakfast, we drove to the Cameron Valley Tea Plantation, which is also the source of the tea bags provided in the hotel rooms. The drive takes less than 10 minutes. Heading downhill from the hotel, you'll soon reach the bustling town center, complete with gift shops and a Starbucks. This place offers just the right amount of tranquility, allowing you to escape the fast pace of city life, slow down, and immerse yourself in the misty clouds.

Next, we explored Cactus Point, a wonderland for plant enthusiasts! From colorful flowers to quirky cactus varieties, it was such a fun and relaxing spot for the whole family. We even brought home some cute little plants to remind us of this trip.
 🍃 BOH Tea Garden:
Our final stop of the day was the iconic BOH Tea Garden. Surrounded by breathtaking green tea plantations, we soaked in the cool air and enjoyed a serene hilltop tea session. Watching the sunset over the lush greenery was the perfect way to wrap up Day 1. 🌅

This place is truly beautiful, not only with its stunning architecture but also with a strawberry farm (likely for viewing only, not picking) and a garden filled with colorful flowers. The cool breeze adds to the comfort of the experience. There's also a hidden café at the highest point, where the cakes and drinks are quite delicious. The entrance fee for adults is RM40. The uphill path is quite steep, but you can also take the stairs, which have many forks along the way for photo opportunities. The newly opened Cameron Santorini is not very large, but it's not too small either. It requires a short climb up a slope and some stairs. 🎫 The entrance fee is RM40 for adults (Florapark might be more worthwhile). 💙🤍 The place features blue and white buildings, reminiscent of Agro Market, and is quite photogenic with flowers and greenery, as well as structures. 📸 Everywhere you go, you can take beautiful photos. Tips: It's easier to take good photos when there are fewer people around! This ia a rather new 5 star hotel and we are truly fond of its design, facade and amenities. The lobby is huge, room is also very spaciousand it comes with a bath tub for a spa at night. All room packages comes with breakfast and they have lots of choices on their food. The view is also very nice to be seen from the balcony. There are also an outdoor swimming pool with warm water for guest who wants to swim. We love this boutique hotel and will come here again one day.

#weekendgetaways During one of the weekends, I had the chance to scale the cold Cameron Highlands in Pahang. Wow, I love the weather and environment up here. The tourists fill up the place since morning. Of course Cameron is popular with the abundance of tea plantation around the place. Strawberry is also popular here. We had a two hour tour up there and enjoyed visiting the vegetable farm as well.

Entrance fees for the flora park is RM25 for adult and RM10 for children can see flowers, birds, cat, rabbit and also mock up of mini Santorini. Also a few cute cafes inside the park. Both market and park open from 8.30am

Visiting Cameron Highland won’t be complete without having a steamboat and grill. Cameron Highland Cheese and Grill is another great option for you to enjoy hot steamboat on a freezing night. We love seafood here, especially prawns 🦐. Satay beef and chicken are also great. While adults are enjoying eating, kids can also play at the provided areas such game machines and kid’s cars.
