Global Travel | "A Lazy Holiday at Mai Khao Marriott"
For this trip to Phuket, I chose a more "laid-back" way to unwind.
🏝 We stayed at the Mai Khao Marriott Resort & Spa, which is much quieter compared to bustling Patong—it felt like jumping straight from the city into a natural soundscape.
We booked a first-floor pool family room where stepping out from the balcony led directly into the water, allowing us to "dive into joy" right from the bedside. I could soak my feet while daydreaming, perfectly embodying the ideal lazy vacation mode.
The room was incredibly spacious, featuring subtle Southeast Asian design elements and soft lighting. Lying in bed listening to the ocean waves outside, I couldn’t bear to wear earplugs before sleep.
The public areas were thoughtfully designed. 🌿 Lush greenery and an enormous pool made lounging in the water while watching swaying coconut trees feel like a classic scene from a vacation movie.
📍 The dining area deserves special praise—breakfast was incredibly diverse, with Southeast Asian flavors, Western-style light meals, and Chinese dim sum rotating daily. The Thai rice noodle soup, in particular, was a refreshing morning delight.
🌊 The beach is just steps away from the hotel, with fine sand and the ocean's "whooshing" greeting just a two-minute walk away. The sea breeze felt like a soothing SPA for the nerves.
Evenings spent listening to the waves while snacking on fruit by the shore, free from the pressure of must-visit check-ins or noisy crowds, made this holiday truly relaxing.
The hotel is relatively new, having opened about six months ago, so it’s still under the radar with fewer guests. This made the stay exceptionally peaceful—perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle.
