Khamchanod Forest or Wat Sirisuttho is located in Ban Dung District, Udon Thani Province. It is like a floating island full of "chanod trees" that look like palm trees and coconut trees combined. According to local legends, this place is the gateway to the underworld, the home of the Naga, ruled by the Naga King Pu Srisuttho and Mother Sripathumma Naga Ratchadevi. The entrance to Khamchanod Forest is a concrete walkway with a wall on the left and right with a statue of the Naga's torso. Everyone must take off their shoes and walk in. Inside Khamchanod Island, there is the shrine of Pu Srisuttho and a sacred well. It is a sacred place where locals come to pay homage. When entering, there will be a point for chanting prayers, praying for blessings, and placing flowers, offerings, and a bridge for walking around. Inside the forest, the air is cool and the trees are abundant.
🏖️ Environment/Facilities: There is a parking lot, toilets, restaurants, and souvenirs. Before entering, everyone must pick up a queue card and drop it in the box at the entrance to Kham Chanod Forest.
