[2025 Kashima Attraction] Travel Guide for Kashima Jingu Shrine (Updated Apr)

🕰️Business Hours: 8:30-16:30 There are bus from Tokyo station every 20minutes, and it takes about 2hours to get there. I visited on mid-summer but i felt the temperature was cooler when i entered the shrine because of the shade of the trees and the breeze. I walk in to pray in the first shrine and going more further until going to the Mitarai pond. The water is clear blue, it was mystical with the torii and tree that grew sideways which is so unique. It was a refreshing day trip from Tokyo.

We went to Kashima Shrine! Kashima Shrine is famous in Ibaraki. I visited here while touring the three major shrines in the eastern part of Japan. Within the shrine grounds, historic giant trees and famous trees stand tall, creating a divine aura that makes you feel as if you've wandered into the world of Ghibli. Its beauty makes it easy to see why it is called the most powerful power spot in the Kanto region. Takemikazuchi-no-Okami is enshrined at Kashima Shrine. I visited Kashima Shrine. It was very open and magnificent! When I visited, the main hall was still under restoration, but I think the restoration has now been completed. There are also pebbles. There are also deer. They were eating their food with great effort (lol) If you go to the back, it makes a good walking course! There is a keystone at the back. When you worship at the shrine, you really feel refreshed! Souvenir shops and restaurants are lined up along the approach to the shrine. I went on a weekday evening, so it was quiet, but I imagine it gets bustling on weekends. There is also a parking lot.
