#springwander In Kasama City, azalea flowers are indispensable as a feature of spring. Kasama Azalea Park is a park that was born from the "Azalea One Stock Movement", an activity in which citizens brought and planted azaleas in order to increase the number of tourist attractions in the town. Currently, about 8,500 plants are planted in the garden at an altitude of 147m and 7ha, and from mid-April to mid-May, various varieties of azaleas bloom beautifully and delight people's eyes.

The shrine has a paid parking lot right next to it and another one about 5 minutes away. The omikuji (fortune slips) have numbers written on sticks. You draw from a case with the corresponding number. They also sell ofuda (talismans) and omamori (charms). I visited on a Saturday in mid-January, so it was moderately crowded, allowing for a leisurely visit. The torii gate is along the road and can be hard to see while walking, but it's easy to spot once you get closer. To take a photo of the torii gate, you need to do so from the opposite side of the road, which can be difficult when it's crowded.

We went to Kasama as a family of four 🚗 I found a great lunch, so I'd like to introduce it to you. "Kuresontei" 20 minutes by car from Kasama Inari Shrine It's a little far from the tourist spots on the approach to the shrine, but if you drive a little along the nature-filled National Route 355, you'll see a magnificent log house. The interior of the restaurant has a warm, woody atmosphere, and the thoughtfulness of the staff is heartwarming. And above all, the taste is superb! #thingstodo Huge green landscaped park on a hill with mature trees. The grounds contain the Ibaraki Ceramic Art Museum, a college and cafe. The paths are sloped and suitable for wheelchairs. Seasonal event: the center of the park hosts the annual Kasama Ceramics Festival in Golden Week with hundreds of stalls by artists, as well as a food court.

#thingstodo Very nice park, we went there over the Golden week, because of the pottery show in the other park. We had very good time, plenty of space for picnic outdoor and indoor if there is suprise rain. Also lot of space for running for children, small play ground and also one long slide. All in all perfect for families, couples or even a single person coming for casual walk.
