Mount Kaimon
#getgoing2025
Located at the southern tip of the Satsuma Peninsula, Mt. Kaimon is an active volcano at an altitude of 924 metres. It is also called "Satsuma Fuji" because of its beautiful triangular cone shape, and it is known as a representative scenic spot in Kagoshima. There are various climbing courses that can be enjoyed by beginners and experienced people, and from the top of the mountain, you can overlook the majestic scenery of Kinko Bay, the East China Sea, and the Satsuma Peninsula. In addition, Ibusuki Onsen, located at the foot of Mt. Kaimon, is famous for its sand mushi hot springs, and it is a good idea to enjoy the hot springs while looking at Mt. Kaimon. Mt. Kaimon and the sunset seen from the Nagasakihana Coast are also very beautiful.
