🏡Wat Kaew Jam Fa or Wat Kaew Fa Lang (Wat Kaew Fa Bon is Wat Kaew Fa Chulamanee) was originally located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, at the mouth of Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem, in a Chinese and Mon community. It is an ancient temple with no evidence of its construction date. 🏠During the reign of King Rama IV, foreigners densely populated the area around the temple and complained to the Ministry of Urban Affairs about the unbearable smell of cremations. Thus, Wat Kaew Jam Fa was relocated to a new site, and the old site was used for commercial purposes in 1907 on Si Phraya Road, which was just cut in 1905. The original site of the temple became the Hong Kong-Shanghai Bank, which is now the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel.
