There seem to be only a few non-resort hotels in Guangzhou that don't offer a tower view, such as Chimelong, Mandarin Oriental, and W, which naturally puts them at a competitive disadvantage. Mandarin Oriental, with its cramped public areas that mirror the congested streets, bizarre room layouts, and even ghostly occurrences, and W, which has become even more rampant after its scandalous hotel cleanup, make Chimelong the easy MVP winner. Chimelong is neighbored by the luxurious Ritz-Carlton, unfortunately obscured by Guangzhou's tallest building from the view of the Canton Tower, but the river view overlooking the Liede Bridge from above the 50th floor is still impressive. The hotel entrance uses a considerable amount of greenery to create a secluded and refreshing atmosphere, the public areas showcase Chimelong's classic ostentatious style, while the guest rooms are quite elegant and serene with a scholarly vibe (duplex suites are not recommended). Although it lacks the design continuity of the high-altitude Lingnan mansions that Ritz-Carlton offers, the overall experience is still more interesting than Mandarin Oriental. Chimelong's spa introduces the Middle Eastern specialty of Turkish baths, the indoor pool is somewhat underwhelming (the outdoor pool was not open), and Chimelong's restaurants are a weak point, so as usual, I went to Guangyu Xuan for dinner and Yubao Xuan for morning tea. ||For the last stop of the National Day holiday, I chose Chu Mei Ya between Mandarin Oriental and Chu Mei Ya, adding another top choice for my stays in Guangzhou. As someone who studied hotel management in university and worked at The Ritz-Carlton and Park Hyatt, although I've changed careers for many years, I still unconsciously retain some professional habits when staying at hotels. I'm used to calling Chu Mei Ya 'Jumeirah', which might be unfamiliar to most, but for us in the hotel management department, it's legendary, like the seven-star sail-shaped hotel in Dubai from the same hotel group. Before checking in, I was worried that my high expectations might lead to disappointment, but the actual experience far exceeded my expectations, and I was truly wowed. 1. Low-key. The entrance is a bit hidden, blocked by a pedestrian overpass, and the eaves and pillars are covered with green plants, making it hard to see the hotel's logo. 2. Luxurious. The lobby is decorated in dark tones, with two strands of orange Clivia hanging from the ceiling like waterfalls, full of artistic sense. There's no need to queue for check-in, the room cards are made of wood, special and tactile, and the hotel is very quiet and comfortable. The rooms are Chinese-style, with marble and solid wood, giving a sense of luxury and weight. 3. Clean. I didn't see any water marks or fingerprints on the cups in the room under the light, and there's no dust in places that can be touched by hand. After taking my child swimming, I found that the soles of the hotel slippers were very clean. 4. Details. The sanitary ware is by Duravit, the hairdryer is by Dyson, and the tea bags are by Twinings. 5. Warmth. Sweet soup, fruits, and cake were delivered to the room. 6. Surprise. I was upgraded to a better room for free, and although I haven't celebrated my birthday for many years, the hotel arranged for red wine to be sent to my room on my birthday, and also gave a cute camel plushie to my child, which made him very happy. In summary: Each hotel has its own style of decoration, but service is the core competitive strength of a hotel. It's only an 8-minute walk to the Canton Tower, and it's super convenient to visit Chimelong, Tianhe City, and Grandview Mall! The large floor-to-ceiling windows offer a view over the Pearl River, and it's also convenient to stroll around. Right outside is the Dim Do restaurant, and the area is full of delicious snacks! There are so many tasty shops downstairs, really amazing spicy chicken silk noodles and grilled skewers! . 2⃣Great value for money The sunken sofa with design sense, creates a perfect atmosphere~ The sofa area is large and next to the window, it's so romantic to eat, chat, and enjoy the night view! The cream-colored ins-style design is warm and inviting, beautiful and comfortable to stay in! They also thoughtfully provide a video collection service, and watching dramas on a big screen is really cool! . 3⃣Fully equipped rooms Smart door locks, so you don't have to worry about forgetting to bring keys or cards. The quality of the giant screen projection is very good, not at all inferior to a movie theater. There are also washing machines, refrigerators, etc., it feels just like coming home. Coming back and watching dramas with your boyfriend on the high-definition giant screen while eating is so cozy.

I booked a deluxe twin room at the Guangzhou Chateau Star River Hotel through trip.com this time. The journey was very comfortable, and the front desk staff were very patient👍🏻. You can sit down to check-in, which is truly worthy of a 5-star hotel🌟. The room was very spacious, and the dyson hairdryer was very satisfying to use. The bathtub and bose sound system were also impressive. Not long after checking into the room, the staff knocked on the door to deliver welcome fruit. After resting for a while, I went to the hotel's gym and swimming pool, which were well-equipped, and there were water and towels provided. The biggest surprise was that in the evening, the hotel staff even brought dessert (chrysanthemum tea) in a thermos, which was very thoughtful. The next day, I enjoyed breakfast at the hotel restaurant with live harp music, which was very relaxing. Breakfast was in a semi-buffet style, and I chose pancakes, which were moderately sweet and very good. The buffet part had delicacies from various countries, including dim sum, croissants, cheese, and even Middle Eastern dishes, all readily available. The most satisfying part of the entire trip was probably this breakfast, which truly exceeded my expectations👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.
