Juan Hiang Dim Sum, a famous restaurant in Phuket
There are 2 branches
Address: Branch 1, Talat Yai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phuket
Branch 2, Talat Nuea Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phuket
I went to Branch 2 because there were quite a lot of people at Branch 1 and there was not much parking space. However, Branch 2 has parking space and there was not much queue.
Atmosphere/Location - Jun Hiang is an old and famous dim sum restaurant in Phuket. Locals and tourists are quite interested in this restaurant. It is also famous on social media. I came to Branch 2. It is like a building, 2 shophouses, open only on the ground floor.
The restaurant has a queue for you to wait to be called, but the wait is not long. There are quite a lot of tables in the restaurant. The system of the restaurant is that after getting a queue, you can walk to choose dim sum from the refrigerator. It will be fried dim sum and finally steamed dim sum. If it is both refrigerated and steamed, you can choose the staff, put it on a tray, and steam it. Tell the staff at each table. After it is done, they will deliver it to your table. You can sit and wait at your table. As for the fried ones, they will bring it to you. The menu I ordered was pork dumplings, pork wrapped in seaweed, shrimp dumplings, crab dumplings, har gow, red pork ribs soup, fried taro. Everything was delicious, with the dipping sauce on the table. You can season it or not, it's delicious. There's also hot tea. The shrimp dumplings have big shrimps. The highlight is the fried buns stuffed with red pork. It's very delicious, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.
Another thing I'd like to recommend is the red pork ribs soup. It comes with 2 pieces of firm pork ribs and sweet red soup.
In addition to dim sum, the shop also has other menus to choose from, such as bak kut teh, rice soup, mee sua, crab curry noodles, etc.
There are also many hot and cold drinks to choose from.
Anyone who comes to Phuket shouldn't miss this shop. I recommend coming in the morning so there won't be many people. There's parking.
Average price per person - Dim sum starts at 12 baht
The shop opens every day from 6:00-11:45 a.m.
