Who says Johor Bahru is just filled with local traditional food and the cheap shopping?
There are several ancient museums and temples located around johor bahru just that you have to find it. There is one called the Kuil Kuno Johor, an ancient temple located at Lot 653, Jalan trust, Bandar Johor Bahru which has said to be built before the 1900s before all these skyscrapers around the temple were built.
This place is popular among Malaysians as you will generally see tour buses coming here with people paying respect to the deities. This temple is also said to he one of the oldest structures and becoming a symbol of the different ethnic groups like teochew, cantonese, hakka and hainan people. Johor Bahru: A Romantic Getaway for Couples
In this fast-paced world, slowing down and exploring a charming city with your loved one is undoubtedly a romantic thing to do. This time, my partner and I chose Johor Bahru, Malaysia, as our destination for a spontaneous trip.
First Impressions of Johor Bahru: Experiencing Exoticism
As soon as we set foot in Johor Bahru, we were captivated by its unique exoticism. The streets are lined with various buildings, from modern skyscrapers to historic buildings. Walking down these streets, we felt like we were traveling through time and space, with every step filled with novelty and surprise.
Shopping Paradise: A Shopping Feast for Couples
Johor Bahru is a shopper's paradise! We made a special trip to Johor Bahru City Square, which is home to many internationally renowned brands, offering everything from fashion to exquisite accessories. We held hands as we wandered through the dazzling array of goods, enjoying the fun of shopping. Every time we found something we liked, we would exchange a smile, and the tacit understanding and sweetness made the air around us filled with the scent of love.
Culinary Exploration: A Romantic Journey for the Taste Buds
What's a trip without the company of food? In Johor Bahru, we tasted many authentic Malaysian dishes. From the fragrant satay to the delicious nasi lemak, every dish left us raving. Especially the seafood feast we enjoyed at the Sea Dragon King Seafood Restaurant that night, with fresh ingredients and the chef's meticulous cooking, it was a feast for the taste buds. We ate and chatted, enjoying this romantic time for two.
Cultural Immersion: Feeling the Weight of History
In addition to shopping and food, we also made time to experience the history and culture of Johor Bahru. We visited the Johor Bahru Old Chinese Temple, a century-old temple with exquisite architecture and rich cultural heritage. At the moment we made a wish in front of the temple, we seemed to feel the passage of time and the accumulation of history. Afterwards, we strolled along Jalan Tan Hiok Nee, admiring the historic buildings and murals, and feeling the unique charm of the city.

📅Travel Recommendations
Day1: Arrive at Johor Bahru Airport, head to Super Fruit Farm
Day2: Johor Football Club - Mount Austin
Day3: Johor Bahru Old Town City walk
-
📷Trip Highlights
1⃣️Super Fruit Farm: A destination very suitable for family and group gatherings. You can have BBQ on the grass, bonfires, fireworks, concerts... and camp overnight in the farm. There are also experiences like picking tropical fruits such as guava, and off-road vehicle rides are also a great experience.
2⃣️Johor Football Club: Going inside the stadium to understand the various preparations and rest spaces of athletes before the game is a very rare experience. At the club, you can also experience one of the only twelve super-long Hummer limousines in the world.
3⃣️Mount Austin: Suitable for a 2D1N travel destination, the area has a golf course, a water park, and Nanyang Street which gathers various Southeast Asian cuisines. If you like slow-paced travel, you can stay in Mount Austin for a few days, and the Austin Park Hotel inside the park is highly recommended.
4⃣️Johor Bahru Old Town: In Johor Bahru, you can take a trishaw ride around the old town, which is also suitable for a one-day City walk. The old town is so similar to Penang, with Indian temples, Johor ancient temples, mosques...
-
🎒Other Activities: Johor Bahru faces Singapore across the sea, connected by a bridge. From here, you can travel to Singapore by land. If you have a long Southeast Asia travel plan, you can play all the way from North Malaysia to Johor Bahru, and it is a great choice to take a car to Singapore from here.

🦞Food Recommendations
1⃣️Johor Bahru Fisherman Seafood Restaurant: A very exquisite seafood restaurant, the dishes are well-prepared, and the taste is amazing.
2⃣️Sea Dragon King Seafood Restaurant: Authentic Cantonese seafood, the taste is very authentic, and it has a high cost-performance ratio.
3⃣️Mount Austin - Big Head Clam Pot: The most recommended restaurant on this Johor Bahru trip, with queues of over an hour, it's really popular.
4⃣️Mount Austin - A9 Coffee: The retro Nanyang style coffee shop is too suitable for taking pictures. Not only does it have characteristic Malaysian coffee, but also very authentic local snacks for breakfast, don't miss it.
-
🏨Accommodation Recommendations:
1⃣️Amari Johor Bahru: Located in the center of Johor Bahru city, the quality, service, and facilities are all very good, recommended for those with a higher budget.
2⃣️Ramada by Wyndham Johor Bahru: Under the Wyndham Hotels, suitable for long stays, the price is not high, the room is equipped with complete kitchenware, and the restaurant and swimming pool are also very good.

Johor Ancient Temple
#malaysiatrip
Great space to pay respects. Surprisingly, a little small and not many deities to pray to. It didn't have signs to where you should pray in sequence and you'll just have the uncles and aunties screaming at you in Mandarin where you should go instead. Noticed we were not the only one because they did that to anyone new who came to pay respects......
