Recommended Cafes in Gold Coast!
Here are three local favorite cafes in Gold Coast:
① Hazel Espresso
📍 Location: 9 Davenport St, Southport QLD 4215
An Australia × Southeast Asia fusion cafe where you can enjoy Vietnamese coffee. It's always hard to choose what to order 😅. The Sea Salt Cream Coffee was delicious 💓.
② Bam Bam Bake Cafe in Mermaid Beach
📍 Location: 2519 Gold Coast Hwy, Mermaid Beach QLD 4218
Highly recommended for their croissants! The almond croissants often sell out early 🥹. Personally, I love their Nasi Goreng 😋.
③ Paddock Bakery in Burleigh Heads
📍 Location: 20 Hibiscus Haven, Burleigh Heads QLD 4220
A charming cafe that feels like a garden 🌳. It's bustling from the morning‼︎ The pastries baked in-house all look incredibly tasty 🤤.
Be sure to check them out when you visit Gold Coast!

Burleigh
#australiatrip Burleigh Heads is a suburb on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. It's known for its beautiful beach, Burleigh Beach, popular with surfers, and its national park, Burleigh Head National Park, which offers scenic walking trails and views of the coastline. It's a popular destination for both locals and tourists due to its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities.

Beautiful Burleigh Heads
Getting There -
. By bus:
get the 700 or 777! It will drop you off in the middle of Burleigh.
Attractions -
it's a perfect destination for families or if you just want that chill vibe kinda day.
Burleigh had a beautiful hill where you can enjoy to read, maybe have a picnic, or just lay down on the grass and feel the breeze!
It also has a beautiful park that leads you to another beach: Tallebudgera Beach.
The walk is easy and takes about 10/15 minutes.
Hotels -
just right in front of the beach, you'll find Burleigh Hotel. It has beautiful rooms and it's also famous for the restaurant bar open for everyone.
They normally have a lot of promotions for lunch, and their parmigiana it's just perfect!
Food & Restaurants - this is for sure one of the best places on the Gold Coast to enjoy good food and good vibes!
My favourite place to eat there is Justin Lane. A Italian restaurant with rooftop bar. They have the BEST pizza, the best cocktails and the best vibe.
At night, if you don't enjoy crowded places, LockWood is your bar! Its a "hidden" bar, and you need to find a door on the alleyway. One of my favourite bars for sure!
Shopping - you'll find a lot of clothes stores at James Street. As well as a lot of beautiful coffe shops.
Last but not least, go to Burleigh in the morning, enjoy a beautiful beach and walk, then go to James street for a little shopping. Enjoy the restaurants and at night, go for a buzz!

Burleigh Heads
What a view of Surfers Paradise!
Situated at the southern end of the Gold Coast, Burleigh Heads is like the Noosa on the Sunshine Coast.
Gorgeous Beach, great places to eat and drink, great accommodation and generally a nice place to visit or live.
You can walk, cycle or skate along the beach side path for kms.
A short drive out to the highway giving you easy access to the rest of the Gold Coast or north up to Brisbane or south down to NSW, Covid lockdown permitting…..
I love taking the trip south down here, a laid back, friendly atmosphere for a Sunday lunch, drinks and stroll along the beach.
Thoroughly recommend a visit to anyone especially the Burleigh Pavilion.

Comfortable Stay with Great Amenities
I stayed in apartment number 2, a 2-bedroom unit featuring a courtyard. The apartment was spotless and offered many nice touches, like board games, tea, coffee, and a washing machine. The beds were comfy, and we loved the location. It was an easy walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. There was secure undercover parking. The pool appeared well-maintained, with tables and BBQs available for use nearby. It was a great stay, and I would gladly book again.

Ready for
Ready for jaw-dropping coastline? 🌊 Burleigh Heads on Australia’s Gold Coast is pure nature vibes, sunny beach days, and epic ocean views—seriously, you’ll want your camera ready for this one!
Must-See Place:
Burleigh Hill (Burleigh Heads QLD 4220, Australia): Start your adventure with a scenic walk up Burleigh Hill. There’s a footpath wrapping around the headland—take your time and soak up uninterrupted ocean panoramas, the scent of wild eucalyptus, and gentle breezes. It’s THE spot for sunrise, sunset, or a laid-back picnic under the trees. Tip: You can find shaded areas beneath big trees, perfect for chilling with snacks or catching a break from the Aussie sun. The beach at the base is stunning—turquoise waves, golden sand, and a relaxed vibe. Don’t forget to walk barefoot along the shore for the full Burleigh experience!
Getting Around: Burleigh Heads is super pedestrian-friendly. Arrive by bus, cab, or even cycle along the beachfront path. Free public car parks and accessible walkways make everything easy.
Food Recommendations: Hit up nearby cafes along the Esplanade for grab-and-go smoothies or fish ‘n chips (classic beach fuel!). For the ultimate chill, order to-go and eat with your toes in the sand.
Key Tips: Pack sunscreen and a refillable water bottle (tap water is safe!). There’s no entry fee for Burleigh Hill, and it's open all year. Early mornings or late afternoons offer fewer crowds and softer light for photos.

Fifth Stay in a Prime Location
This was our fifth visit since we find the location superb. The building shows its age, so some apartments aren't fully updated (labeled as "standard") but still offer a decent level of comfort. Any issues were quickly addressed by Lyn the Manager. The outdoor heated pool and spa are excellent. The ocean views are better from higher floors, while the lower floors offer decent views, particularly of the breathtaking sunrise. Our only letdown was not getting the apartment we booked (or similar) even after reserving a year in advance. Nonetheless, the charming Luca, on receptionist duty Sunday, genuinely tried to meet our preferences.

Tasting on the Gold Coast🍺
#TravelTactics
Australia is home to breweries everywhere.
This time, I'll introduce two recommended ones in the Gold Coast (Miami) area.
Both are within walking distance. ✨
🍺Black Hopes Brewery
📍15 Gardenia Grove, Burleigh Heads QLD 4220
Here, you can order a beer tasting.
They also have fruity beers that are easy to drink even for those who don't like ginger, so it's a great way to enjoy a variety of beers in small batches!
If you come to Australia, be sure to try ginger beer. ☺️
🥃Grandad Jack's Craft Distillery
📍45 Lemana Ln, Miami QLD 4220
Here, you can sample gin.
If you find something you like, you can purchase it.
The cocktail menu is extensive, so it was hard to choose, but I decided to go for the tasting!
Be sure to stop by! ☀️

[🇦🇺Gold Coast] Introducing picnic spots with stunning views
If you're visiting the Gold Coast, why not enjoy a sunset picnic by the water with the locals?
In Burleigh Heads, young people gather with snacks after work or school to relax and watch the ocean and surfers riding the waves.
There are many restaurants near the bus stop, serving meals like poke bowls and sandwiches, as well as gelato.
📍Location & Access
• Address: John Laws Park, Goodwin Terrace, Burleigh Heads QLD 4220
• Access: Along the Gold Coast Highway. Public transport is also available, with buses running every 15 minutes and a bus stop near Burleigh Beach.
🌿Facilities & Natural Attractions
• Spectacular Views: From the top of the hill, you can enjoy a truly spectacular view of the coastline and skyline stretching all the way to Surfers Paradise.
• Walking Trails: The Rainforest Loop and Ocean View Circuit (each approximately 2.3-2.4 km) are walking paths that lead into the national park. Perfect for a stroll or a light run.
🏝️Characteristics and Atmosphere
• A popular weekend picnic spot for locals, this area has a lively atmosphere.
• Rich natural surroundings: Spread a blanket under the pandanus (silver-like palm) trees and relax, surrounded by the tranquil sea and the sounds of the waves.
• In the evening, the coastal scenery and sky are beautifully colored, creating an especially photogenic atmosphere at sunset.
I had a picnic with a friend, and by the time we left at dusk, someone was singing and playing guitar. It was a truly wonderful space. ❤️🔥

Burleigh beach, a good place for visitors
Burleigh Beach is a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful coastline. The sand is soft and clean, and the water is clear and refreshing. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby where you can grab a meal with a view of the ocean. It’s perfect for walking, swimming, or just sitting back and watching the surfers. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Gold Coast.

Beach Days & Hikes: Gold Coast Budget Guide
#asiabudgetchallenge
Gold Coast can be enjoyed for as low as AUD 50 (~RM155) a day if you plan smart. Skip the pricey theme parks and spend your day soaking up the sun at free beaches like Burleigh, Broadbeach, or Coolangatta. Pack your own food or grab affordable takeaway (AUD 10–15), and have a chill beach picnic. For some activity, go for a short scenic hike at Burleigh Head National Park or walk along the coastal Oceanway—both free!
Use the G:link tram or TransLink buses with a Go Card (daily cap ~AUD 10) to get around affordably. Stay in a hostel or budget stay (AUD 25–35/night in shared rooms) near the beach to save on transport and enjoy beachside vibes all day. Total estimated daily spend: AUD 45–55 including food, transport, and stay. Sun, sea, and nature—without burning your wallet.

Who could possibly resist Burleigh Heads?!
Although Rainbow Bay was absolutely stunning and less crowded last time 🥹, I still can’t forget this beach that every international student in Brisbane must have visited! Located just south of Surfers Paradise, Burleigh Heads is always bustling on weekends. You’ll find people picnicking, surfing, sunbathing, walking their dogs, and hiking—there’s truly something for everyone 🌸🌊.
⭐️ For those like me who don’t have a car, you can take the Gold Coast train to Varsity Lakes and then transfer to a bus that takes you straight to the beach! Plus, public transport now permanently costs just 0.5 AUD 🙂↕️. There are plenty of food and drink options nearby, including the classic Aussie fish & chips, which is always a great choice. Recently, a new Yo-Chi store opened, and it seems like every local has a cup in hand 😋.
⭐️ Personally, I recommend stopping by Miami Fish Market (P4) before heading to the beach to indulge in their fresh seafood. From sea urchin and toro to octopus salad and sushi rolls, everything is absolutely top-notch 💯. This place has always been my favorite seafood spot on the Gold Coast 🥺!
⭐️ Another must-visit is Tarte Bakery & Cafe near the beach (P5 & P6). Their salmon bagel 🥯 and kouign amann are unforgettable, but keep in mind they close at 3 PM—don’t miss out!
⭐️ One of the reasons I love Burleigh Heads Beach so much is its expansive grassy area. Even when it’s crowded, it never feels cramped. The combination of the ocean and the surrounding trees creates a picturesque scene that looks like a painting. It’s incredibly photogenic and simply breathtaking 💘. P7 shows the golden hues of the sunset starting to appear 🥹. I adore this place so much, no matter how many times I visit, I always want to share it 💌.

📍 Google Maps: Burleigh Head National Park
From here, you get a stunning panoramic view of the entire Gold Coast skyline.
At sunset, the air turns golden and the vibe is absolutely magical. The sea breeze is a bit chilly, but it only adds to the atmosphere.
We barely caught the last light before heading off for dinner — couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the day.

Burleigh Heads has that perfect mix of chilled beach town and natural escape. I started my visit with a morning swim at the beach, followed by a coffee from a beachfront café. Then I hiked the Burleigh Headland walk, where I got amazing views of the ocean and surfers below. The pandanus palms and rocky lookouts make it feel like a tropical hideaway. I even spotted whales in the distance. It’s my favorite Gold Coast beach by far.

\Gold Coast/ Recommended ramen restaurants
Here are some delicious ramen restaurants on the Gold Coast.
①Muso Rame Mermaid Beach
📍Address: 2b/2484 Gold Coast Hwy, Mermaid Beach QLD 4218
There are several stores, but this one has handmade noodles, so I recommend it.
You can choose the thickness of the noodles!
The tsukemen and gyoza are also very delicious.
②Goukai Ramen
📍Address: 3/1837 Gold Coast Hwy, Burleigh Heads QLD 4220
The ramen is based on tonkotsu, and the black garlic ramen is recommended.
The noodles are firm and satisfying.
If you miss ramen on the Gold Coast, be sure to try it😊

Gold Coast Relaxation Plan
#Let's go abroad
Burleigh Heads is one of the recommended spots in the Gold Coast.
James Street is lined with stylish general stores, cafes, restaurants, etc.
Recommended ways to spend time:
①The Fruit Shop Burleigh
They make juice after you order fresh fruit🧡
A shop you'll want to visit again and again.
②Burleigh Heads Fishmongers
A fish and chip shop next to the juice shop.
The fish are very big and delicious😋
③Watch the sunset on the hill of Burleigh Heads
It's also recommended to take out what you buy at the shop and have a picnic!
The sunset you see from here is always moving💓

Burleigh Heads is one of my favorite places on the Gold Coast. This area where the blue sea and green hills meet has a relaxed atmosphere, and no matter how many times you visit, you'll always find something new. Relax on the beach, hike the hills, or have brunch at a local cafe. The perfect balance between nature and the city means you can enjoy it no matter what kind of mood you're in. It's a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast and reset your mind.
The zoo is also nearby, so you can go there together◎
⸻
• Access: About 30 minutes by bus or car from Surfers Paradise
• Recommended spots: Hiking trails in Burleigh Heads National Park
• Beach: Swimming allowed. Popular for surfing
• Cafes: Burleigh Pavilion, Commune, Social Brew, etc. are stylish and delicious
• Toilets and showers: Located along the beach
• Parking: Both free and paid (it gets crowded on weekends, so it's recommended to go early)
• Sunset time: The sunset from the top of the hill is spectacular!
It's a wonderful area where locals are walking their dogs, having picnics, sleeping on the beach, and everyone is enjoying the sea in their own way.
The bus is 50 cents, so it's also great to go from Brisbane.

🇦🇺 Stunning beachfront dining area in Gold Coast, Australia
#aprilblooms
💞Reasons to Recommend: Rick Shores boasts an impressive ambience with panoramic ocean views. Its clean, minimalist design—highlighted by polished concrete floors and understated timber accents, compliments the stunning coastal backdrop. But what I love the most are the delicious Lobster & Prawn Jade Har Gow, Fried Moreton Bay Bug Roll, and the Matcha Semifreddo. However, they are quite expensive! Also, it can get really busy during peak seasons. Hence, booking a table is highly recommended.

💞Reasons to Recommend: Burleigh Pavilion is one of my favourite beachfront food venues in Gold Coast, Australia. It offers breathtaking views of the ocean and a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for social gatherings. There's also a variety of food and drink options, which are affordable and tasty! I definitely like the fish tacos and crispy calamaris. I recommend going here during the weekdays, as it tends to get quite busy on weekends.
