Chilling in Jinji Lake ⛴️⛵️🛥️
#chinatrip
As a national 5AAAAA scenic spot, Jinji lake has been a tourist spot opens to the public for free!!! It is located in the CBD district of Suzhou Industrial Park where you can get there directly by taking the public transportation to either Gate of the Oriental OR Culture and Expo Centre.
Nothing much to do here but I will still highly recommend to come here in the evening when the weather is good as you will get to see the beautiful sunset along with the lake view!
If you are here on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, there will be music fountain show happens at 7 pm that lasts for 20 min. (Depends on the weather). Or if you want to see the lighting show of the Gate of the Orient from the distance, this is the place and it will be on every Fri night from night fall until 10 pm. Again, this is FREE of charge!

Explore Suzhou Ancient City in a Different Way: 20 Essential Tips to Avoid Tourist Traps
Suzhou/20 Essential Tips to Avoid Tourist Traps❗
-
You should always make a trip to the south of the Yangtze River.
Suzhou is like the gentle moonlight of the south.
-
✅After many trips to Suzhou within a year, here are 20 tips to avoid tourist traps, hoping to provide some references for friends.
-
1. Suzhou does not have an airport, but it has two train stations: Suzhou Station and Suzhou North Station.
2. Suzhou North Station is a high-speed train station, which is relatively far from the city center. It is recommended to get off at Suzhou Station, which is in the city center and more convenient for transportation.
3. The roads in Suzhou are mostly straight, making it easy to navigate, so even those with a poor sense of direction won't easily get lost.
4. Pingjiang Road is the most well-preserved ancient river street in Suzhou Ancient City. Don't forget to visit Da Ru Lane, Lilac Lane, and Niu Family Lane.
5. Besides Pingjiang Road, you can also take a sculling boat ride on Shantang Street.
6. There are many gardens in Suzhou, and you must visit the Humble Administrator's Garden. If time permits, Canglang Pavilion is also worth a visit.
7. For those who plan to visit gardens at night, it is recommended to go to the Master of Nets Garden, where there is a live Kunqu opera performance.
8. Suzhou Museum is open from 9 am to 5 pm, closed on Mondays, and stops admitting visitors after 4 pm.
9. For Shantang Street, take Metro Line 2 to Shantang Street Station and exit from Exit 3, which is closer.
10. For Suzhou's night scenery, besides Shantang Street, you can also visit Jinji Lake. There is a musical fountain show on weekends starting at 7:30 pm, lasting 20 minutes.
11. Eslite Bookstore is next to Jinji Lake, featuring the most beautiful staircase for a photo opportunity.
12. You can listen to Kunqu opera and Pingtan at the Suzhou Kunqu Museum, Pingtan Museum, Shantang Kunqu Theatre, Shantang Academy, etc.
13. Besides Zhouzhuang, Mudu and Tongli ancient towns are also worth staying for a few days.
14. The entrance fee for Lingyan Mountain in Mudu is only 1 yuan, which is an absolute bargain for a scenic spot.
15. For late-night snacks in Suzhou, you can go to Jingde Road Wu Qu Fang, Nanyuan Road Nanyuan Bridge South, and other places in the city center.
16. If you're going to the Twin Towers Market, be prepared to queue. If you're going just for the sake of checking in, it's not highly recommended.
17. If you want to eat noodles in Suzhou, I personally recommend Tongde Xing for its authentic taste. The Mengzi Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles from old Suzhou are also worth trying.
18. The signature dish, Squirrel-shaped Mandarin Fish, is really good. It's my personal favorite, and you can hardly go wrong with it.
19. For accommodation, you can choose to stay near Pingjiang Road, which is close to the attractions.
20. For those buying souvenirs, you can consider purchasing some Suzhou-style pastries and various local candies.
Thank you for reading, and if you like it, give the editor a thumbs up🖼️

Sunset walk at Jinji lake 🌅
Jinji Lake is the perfect place to spend an evening. It's a beautiful view of Suzhou's modern side. And it's free.
Late afternoon start at Dongfangzhimen Gate to the East or Suzhou Centre subway stop and head out to the lake. Take your time walking and enjoying the sights or snacks around the lake.
Walk over to the other side and lake, The Culture and Expo Centre, to watch the sun go down behind the Gate to the East, more commonly known as the pants/trousers building 👖 😅
There are food options on either side. It's a lovely leisurely activity. #tripblazers#summervacation#suzhou#awesomepic

Jinji Lake; a reminder of Singapore
Surrounded by beautiful walking paths on every side, Jinji lake is relatively small compared to others in the city, which means that it's also quiet of tourists. The closest metro station is just a few streets away, you can be invested in the natural landscape, whilst admiring the beautiful built up modern buildings.
The restaurants in the area are positioned on islands in the lake. They are varied and flavourful, and have stunning views of the lake, thanking to the fact you're in the middle of it.
It's really a peaceful moment to wonder this part of Suzhou and I highly recommend.

Whenever im at the jinji lake , one thing I always try to take with me is my drone, because then I get to take amazing photos like this, took these photos from the East side of the lake, where you can see the moon harbor, Times Square and the really cool Ferris wheel!
another thing that you can do on the Jinji lake would be to go on a boat cruise or if you have your own boat you can go sailing around on the lake also seen some people using paddle boards to paddle around on this lake.
And another thing that you can’t really get over every time you visit this lake is in the amazing views you’re able to see so many nice spots and different sites that make for fantastic pictures.

the mysterious island on the Jinji lake!
#createwithtrip
One interesting thing about jinji lake is that there are so many different areas around the lake that really look beautiful and can really be a nice spot to experience in the lake.
All the different areas around the lake are covered with different parks and gardens and beautiful locations that you can either take photos or take a walk or just relax.
However located in the middle of this lake is a certain mysterious island. It’s not connected to any other areas so you’d only be able to reach the spot by a boat. It’s not really a mysterious island but it’s one of the spots that I’ve never been to and it would be really interesting to visit one day.

The Jinshui wan bridge
this place is located at the south eastern part of jinji lake in Suzhou china. This is a place called jinshui wanzhan bridge. This is a place that I have talked about and some previous posts, and I truly have nothing bad to say about this place it’s a gorgeous location where you have an intersection of winding bridges which overlook the jinji lake from these bridges. At this place you can also see some of the very popular sights of Suzhou. Such as the IFS tower and the gate of the Orient in Suzhou China.
many people come here for reasons such as recreation exercise or just taking a walk by the lake. This is also a very gorgeous location at night so you will want to check it out when you visit.

A large lake with many different parts
There are many large large lakes in China but in my opinion this is the most developed and interesting. The lake itself is huge and we decided to walk around the whole lake last winter which took around 4 – 4.5 hours.
There are some good hotels around the hotel, a large bar area/ street, several communities and many restaurants. After walking around the lake for hours you really get the sense the areas have their own character.
There is also a large pedestrian bridge which has been built recently making it easier to walk around the bottom side of the lake.
Parking is easy as there is a large car park at the north side of the lake.

Ever visited this Bridge on the Jinji lake?
Around the south eastern region of the Jinji lake, lies this magnificent bridge. for a while this spot was under construction and I had no idea that anything as crazy as that was being built. however one evening I was riding my scooter along the road and I caught a glimpse of this amazing location and had to stop.
the next morning i set out very early and this time came with my camera gear and drone and I was able to get so amazing shots.
the name of this place is called jinshui wan bridge. this is a place where many people come in the early morning for a walk or a jog, and also in the evening time it’s a whole new experience!

If you go down to the southern part of the jinji lake you will come upon the breathtaking location and that is the ligongdi area. it is an extremely beautiful and high class area from which you can watch the sun set.
On this day I went for coffee in one of the many coffee shops in this area, and afterwards I decided to pick my camera and take as may shots as I could of this area and to be honest I didn’t have to look too far. you have a great view of the gate of the orient, and the IFS tower as well.
When walking around I also noticed quite a number of people walking and strolling around this beautiful area trying to either get a workout in, or to simply absorb the serene energy.

Check out this Unique Jinji lake Wharf!
This is definitely not a common sight to see except you live in Suzhou China of course,
If you’re ever in the Ligong Di area of Suzhou, which is on the south side of jinji lake, be sure to check out this amazing location!
I stumbled upon it while taking a ride around the area, and one thing I noticed is that it’s almost never crowded.
It’s a very good spot to have an evening stroll or an early morning yoga or meditation session.
The calm and peaceful waves really heighten the serenity and it’s a great spot to watch the sunset.
The only down side I would say at this point is the fact that there is quite a bit of construction going on in the lake and around the area, but this is only temporary, and wasn’t too much of a problem for me! #suzhou #jinjilake #historicculture #scenicspotguide

Gate of the East
Never have I ever been on a such tall door that shows the gateway to the East. With a whooping height of nearly 300 metres, this archway 🌆 is a symbolic representation of that it has opened gates to the economic prosperity of the city. It also tells you that you've reached the city centre of Suzhou, right in the middle of the CBD (Central Business District). With a nice evening to spend in front of the Jinji lake (as it is in the shape of heart of a chicken 🐓 😂 ), people throng here every evening. They also do have a nice laser lit water dance🎊 show, which is quite an amusement for kids and families. Situated right above the Dongfang station, you can easily reach here by 🚈 and coming out there are lot of amazing food options. A perfect evening getaway if you're living in Suzhou #suzhoutravel #couplestrip

Vibrant cities
Great cities always have their vibe radiating miles away from them. Most plausibly, with orient tower in Suzhou they want to mimic the Oriental pearl tower of Shanghai. Giving us the nice skyline view 🤠 and a total reflection 🪞 of economic development that the city has been undergoing. Quite known as one of the most beautiful city in China, Suzhou even in the city center has some pleasant lakes. Around which they've built these skyscrapers to aid the aesthetic look of it. We spent the evening in the rooftop bar of W hotel 🛍️, sinking in both of whiskey sour and cool breeze. #urbanexplorer

Suzhou is not only famous for its gardens and ancient streets, but also for Jinji Lake.
⛵P1, P3: Photos taken near the Moonlight Pier of Jinji Lake. The Oriental Gate, also known as "Big Autumn Pants", is on the other side of the lake. It is recommended to visit at night. The large photo frame is in the Cultural and Art Center, which is very close to the Moonlight Pier. It is found that this cultural art is very dedicated to popularizing and feeling the artistic atmosphere. If you are interested, you can turn around inside and around. There is a small night market by the lake, which is quite lively but not very large, and there are not many merchants.
⛵P2, P4: Photos taken near Wanghu Pavilion Pier, with the Cultural and Art Center and Ferris wheel on the other side of the lake. You can also take a boat to Taohua Island here.
🌸P5: Taohua Island, there are three characters of "Taohua Island" written by Mr. Jin Yong on the stone wall of the island. The moment I saw it, I was "killed by the memory" by "Peach Blossom Shadow Falling Flying Sword, Jade Flute Pressed by the Green Sea Tide". The facilities on the island are more suitable for parent-child tours. If you are walking with a baby, you can bring your children to play.
The name of Jinji Lake comes from Qiongji, the daughter of King Wu Fucha. It exists to commemorate her. The lake was originally called "Qiongji Lake". Because "Qiongji" in Wu language sounds similar to "Jinji", it was mistakenly passed down as "Jinji Lake" and has been used ever since.

What's fun in Suzhou? How to plan a day trip?
Suzhou, abbreviated as "Su", also known as Gusu, Helu City, Heshi, Wu County, Wuzhou, Eastern Wu, Wuzhong, Wushi, Wuxia, Wuchang, Zhongwu, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, a megacity, and a famous Jiangnan water town!
Historically, Suzhou has a history of more than 4,000 years since the written record. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Duke Shoumeng of Eastern Zhou established the State of Wu. In 514 BC, King Helu of Wu began to build Suzhou City. During the Qin Dynasty, Wu County was established. In the ninth year of Emperor Wen of Sui (589 AD), Suzhou began to be called Suzhou. In modern times, Suzhou City was established in 1928.
With the passage of time, Suzhou has famous scenic spots such as the Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove Garden, Canglang Pavilion, Lingering Garden, Zhouzhuang Ancient Town, Tiger Hill, Hanshan Temple, and Jinji Lake!
So the question is, what's fun in Suzhou? How to plan a day trip? What are the precautions? Don't worry, read on!
I. Suzhou's heritage
Suzhou is one of the first batch of national historical and cultural cities, and the only city along the Grand Canal to apply for World Heritage status with the concept of an ancient city. It is a "water and land parallel, river and street adjacent" double chessboard pattern, and a unique style of "small bridges and flowing water, pink walls and black tiles, historical sites and famous gardens". It is also known as the "Paradise on Earth", and is a "living" Jiangnan culture. Its "Kunqu Opera, Pingtan, Gardens and Suzhou Embroidery" are all famous!
II. Suzhou Day Trip
It is recommended that friends who come to Suzhou can take a day trip route from Suzhou Railway Station - Suzhou Museum - Lion Grove Garden - Pingjiang Road - Shuangta Market - Humble Administrator's Garden - Jinji Lake Scenic Area - Suzhou Center Plaza.
Among them, the Suzhou Museum is free to visit, but you need to make an appointment in advance. It is open from 9:00 to 20:00 from Tuesday to Sunday. The three major treasures of the museum are the Pearl Stupa, the Painted Four Heavenly Kings Wooden Box, and the Secret Color Porcelain Lotus Bowl.
Lion Grove Garden, 40 yuan in peak season, 30 yuan in off-season, with pavilions, towers, halls, and corridors, full of details, worth a slow taste!
Pingjiang Road, free to visit, with black-covered boats, small bridges and flowing water, a coexistence of life and commercial atmosphere, lush trees, and a strong Jiangnan atmosphere.
Shuangta Market, free to visit, with a gathering of popular snacks.
Humble Administrator's Garden, 80 yuan in peak season, 70 yuan in off-season, one of the four famous gardens in China (Humble Administrator's Garden, Lingering Garden, Summer Palace, Chengde Mountain Resort). It is divided into four parts: East, Central, West, and Residential.
Jinji Lake Scenic Area, free to visit, suitable for watching sunsets and fountains, and walking on the lake trails.
Suzhou Center Plaza, the best and most beautiful shopping mall!
A circle down, you can perfectly experience the ancient heritage and modern fashion of Suzhou, and there are all kinds of food, drink, and fun!
III. Precautions for visiting Suzhou
1. Suzhou Museum, there are two venues, the Suzhou Museum (West Hall) designed by I.M. Pei [suitable for parent-child travel], and the Suzhou Museum [suitable for taking photos] next to the Humble Administrator's Garden. Don't make the wrong appointment.
2. Don't buy fresh flowers from children on the road, especially in high-density areas such as Guanqian Street, Shantang Street, and Pingjiang Road.
3. Don't take rickshaws (human-powered vehicles), you may be cheated, or taken to a day tour.
4. If you want to buy silk souvenirs, it is recommended to go to the old shops or specialty stores around Guanqian Street. You need to know how to compare prices.
5. For Suzhou temples, it is recommended to go to Xiyuan Temple, where you can have vegetarian noodles for 15 yuan and vegetarian buns for 2 yuan. You can also pet cats, copy scriptures, and feed pigeons. It is a place where you can stay for a day.
6. Zhouzhuang is free of admission after 9:00 pm.
