Jing'an sculpture park must be included in the TO-DO list of activities to try during your visit in Shanghai. Located in the hearth of the city's down town it is impossible to miss out this place. You can literally just walk from the hotel (if you are staying in the area). The whole visit, including walking around and taking pictures should last between 1 to 2 hours. The place is very well maintained, clean and beautiful ornate buildings. Spring and early summer seasons are the best times to visit as you will see more colourful flowers during your visit. This is an incredible experience for those who love nature and flowers. This is one of the most beautiful parks in Shanghai. It has plenty of artworks and sculptures scattered around its green areas. And if all that imagery was not enough, you can enjoy your time chasing after the stray cats that wander around here. They are very friendly and not scared of people, possible even prefer them because they get fed. Some of the green areas are out of reach, no trespassing, in order to protect the green, so don’t expect to do much of a picnic in the green areas here. There are a lot of sculptures in Shanghai to visit. Mostly just one for the decoration of a streetcorner or a green piece of land. The park in Jing'an has a lot of this sculptures and offers nice paths to walk as well. There is no specific theme, so you can enjoy different style. My favorite is "Sister". Two hands getting close to hold each other.

Looks like Shanghai is in bloom! I popped into Jing’an Sculpture Park to check out the tulips just before the rain hit and was not disappointed. Flowers as far as the eye can see 😍😍 An older couple walked into my shot just as I was snapping the third picture, but they looked like they belonged in the photo so I kept it 🤭 I managed to spot the cherry blossoms and parrot statue in the last photo right as the rain started to fall! Spring is finally here! Visited my favourite city park, Jinan Sculpture park on 9Mar and the tulips are ready to welcome the warm weather. Seems like cherry blossom has already finished cause the type of cherry here bloom earlier than others but still managed to capture some. Sunday, December 29, 2024. After 11 am, I saw the sun shining brightly, so I went to Jing'an Sculpture Park for a walk. Jing'an Sculpture Park The last time I came here was when I visited the Natural History Museum with my colleagues. Shanghai Natural History Museum It's been about seven or eight years. This time, I entered from the gate on the south side of the Beijing West Road and the North-South Elevated Road, and slowly enjoyed the park along the path. The scenery is the same as it was back then. The closer I got to the Shanghai Natural History Museum, the more tourists there were, and even more children. It's really comfortable to walk here and bask in the sun. I originally wanted to explore the red traces, the Former Site of the CPC Songpu Special Committee, but unfortunately, it is still under renovation. However, it is also interesting to walk along the ginkgo avenue with fallen leaves.

Jing'an Sculpture Park is the only sculpture park in downtown Shanghai. Located in Jing'an District, it covers an area of about 65,000 square meters. Nothing much to see except that you’ll find a lot of cats and a hidden alfresco restaurant (Thai) which offers so-so food probably because the owner thinks it has a unique environment. Wonderful park with a strong community vibe. Full of children, parents, grandparents, musicians, dancers, singers and the ever present park cat.

🌷You really had a blast at Jing'an Sculpture Park! 🌈Jing'an Sculpture Park has become an urban hotspot for flower viewing without us even realizing it. From plum blossoms to cherry blossoms and tulips, one wave after another marks the start of the spring flower viewing season. It's also a great place to enjoy flowers for free in the city center! 📍Located at the intersection of Beijing West Road and Shimen Second Road, it's a green space in the heart of the city, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle. On nice days, many people come here to walk and play with their children, and the nearby Natural History Museum makes for a great combined outing!

Today when I went, the ☁️ little dog sculpture from the first picture was no longer there, but it welcomed the long-missed spring. The park was bustling with people, yet it didn't annoy me. Because the space is open and the scenes are rich, if you can't see the cherry blossoms, you can look at sculptures, if you can't see sculptures, you can go to less crowded areas and stay with the ☀️ and the grass, or at the very least, take a few laps on the citizen's walkway. The walkway is not boring either, with periodic avant-garde sculpture displays showing some artistic expression. Living near the sculpture park for almost three years before and after going abroad, from the initial bronze and iron types of sculptures to the now colorful and concrete images, makes one realize that sculptures can also be interesting and diverse. Two years ago, that quiet spring, I watched as the park downstairs went from bustling to empty, and this year, the park has gone from being closed to an open structure!

After a hearty brunch in the morning, you can cycle to Jing'an Sculpture Park to take pictures of the cherry blossoms. In the afternoon, I highly recommend a city walk near the Bund, casually capturing the tulips of the Bund, and the following week will be their prime time. The surrounding overpasses might be congested, so if you live nearby, I recommend cycling there, so you can better enjoy the roadside scenery. 2. If you want to include the crowd in your shot, or prefer to take pictures without people, go earlier. The early-blooming pink cherry blossoms are expected to last for a week. Of course, in addition to cherry blossoms 🌸, the park also has tulips and plum blossoms. For those who like to take portraits, you can bring a small stool or stand on the steps to take pictures, the angle is fantastic 👍. And, try to use a telephoto lens for shooting, it can avoid the crowd and capture that unique Japanese style. 😊
