Here, tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, making Jieyang a fantastic place to visit!
An underestimated tourist city in Guangdong, Jieyang is a must-visit! With convenient transportation options, pack your bags and head here for the holidays—the environment and weather are simply delightful^_^ Just looking around feels incredibly soothing.
The fusion of tradition and modernity here is striking, with architecture that makes you feel like you're abroad, earning it the nickname "Little Kyoto." The rich intangible cultural heritage is palpable—during this holiday, I enjoyed performances like dragon dances, Chaozhou opera, and lion dances, giving a big thumbs-up to this hidden gem, Jieyang👍 Nearby historical sites like the Jieyang Confucian Temple and Jinxian Gate even offer QR code-guided tours, enriching the cultural experience. Whether by day or night, these spots are perfect for photo ops, and the best part? They're all free, hehe!
When it comes to food, the options are endless: beef hotpot, grilled beef, licorice-marinated fruits, slow-cooked soups, rice noodle rolls, herbal jelly… the list goes on! So much deliciousness—I swear I gained three pounds just from eating here!
For accommodation, I chose the Jieyang Marriott Hotel. Priced reasonably, their river-view room was a pleasant surprise, offering glimpses of birds soaring against a backdrop of blue skies and stunning architecture—like a living painting. The comfort was next-level, with plush beds in the twin room that were spacious and cozy.
The hotel amenities include a pool, gym, sauna, and more—perfect for working off those extra calories, hahaha. Exercise while you digest^_^
The breakfast spread the next morning was equally impressive: pounded tea, rice noodle rolls, yogurt salads, assorted porridges, and pastries—truly outstanding! The pounded tea deserves special mention—a dedicated station for this intangible cultural delicacy, a Jieyang specialty. Making your own bowl is a ritual in itself, and the unique flavor is a must-try. In short, the breakfast here is top-notch—highly recommended!
The surrounding area is also convenient, with a shopping mall (Wanda) nearby for a post-meal stroll.
To sum it up, Jieyang is a place I’ll definitely return to—great food, fun experiences, and I’ve heard the Dragon Boat Festival here is lively too, with dragon boat races and lion dances. For your next holiday getaway, just head straight here!
