Wow! Wow! The legendary noodle shop in Yubei that I've been following for years has finally opened in Jiefangbei. Suddenly, it's only 2 kilometers away instead of 30 kilometers. I have to go!!! Chongqing 3-day 2-night intense tour checklist get☑️ Hotel🏨: Lady G+ Hotel, probably about 8 minutes away from Jiefangbei, and about 6 minutes away from Jiaochangkou subway station. With the map, you'll never get lost~ Perfect central location! Plus, the hotel is quite new. But the soundproofing in the hotel is not that great. The night I arrived, I immediately went to eat at Lao Ma Chao Shou (Jiefangbei store), which turned out to be right across from the hotel~ So delicious! I ate there two nights in a row, I don't even care about hotpot anymore🍲 Itinerary: Day1 Leave the hotel at 10 am: Jiefangbei - Bayi Road Food Street - People's Park (pass by Bai Xiang Ju~) - Bai Xiang Ju - Raffles City - randomly found a hotpot restaurant on the way, just a few hundred meters in front of the entrance to Shancheng Lane, (Lao You Die Three Drag One Old Hotpot) - Shancheng Trail - Chongqing Eighteen Ladders - Kui Xing Lou - Dai Jia Lane - Hongya Cave - Qiansimen Bridge. 30,000 steps on the first day... Jiefangbei Pedestrian Area in Chongqing is the best place for shopaholics. All the huge shopping malls cover the area which has People’s Liberation Monument in the middle. Our hotel was only ten minutes away from the place and it costed only about 10RMB to get there. The place is very big and wonderful, you will definitely enjoy paying a visit to it. Chongqing the mountain city seems to not only be dynamic in landscape. The old sits alongside the new, the poor dilapidated buildings alongside the new mega luxury shopping malls, the elderly hand in hand with the new generation. Only in such a place do you get robots alongside an elderly lady using a basket on her back to carry her grandchild. It is unique to say the least!

Jiefangbei is haven to strange delicacies and street food markets. People queue in long lines to buy beautifully fried oyster mushrooms and wander aimlessly from stall to stall. One dish I tried consisted of fried rice cakes with jellies and various toppings such as chrysanthemum, hawthorn, and raisin all glazed in a light brown sugar sauce. "Meet in the shelter, have a coffee, and listen to the owner play a piano piece." There's a cafe called "Shelter Insight" located in an air raid shelter beneath the mountain city trails. You really have to admire the laid-back attitude of the Sichuan and Chongqing people; they can have fun anywhere. I enjoyed two coffees, a small cake, and listened to the owner play the piano in their spare time. It was strangely therapeutic in such a small space. 🪑The shop is tiny, with only two small tables, a piano, and a mirror. This setup makes for great photos in the limited space. There are many tables outside in the air raid shelter, but it can be a bit dusty, so I recommend sitting inside if you're eating. The owner is very easygoing, an introvert who's trying their best to be extroverted for the business, haha. When it's not busy, the owner will play a tune on the piano, which creates a unique atmosphere. Drinking coffee and listening to piano music in an air raid shelter is a contrasting experience, but I loved it; it was very therapeutic. ☕️I tried the Ink Wash Latte and the Grape Sparkling Americano. The Ink Wash Latte is more photogenic, but the milk flavor is strong, and the coffee flavor is a bit weak, not suitable for someone like me who usually prefers Americanos. Latte lovers might enjoy it. But the Grape Sparkling Americano was perfect for me! The grape sparkling water and Americano flavors blend well, offering both the refreshing taste of sparkling water and the rich aroma of Americano. This one is definitely worth trying❗️ 🍰For dessert, I had the original Basque cheesecake. It was average, definitely not comparable to what you'd find in a dedicated dessert shop. It wasn't very sweet, which suited my preference for less sugar, but the texture wasn't very smooth. I'm not sure how the other desserts are. Overall, it's a unique little shop. When it's not crowded, it's a special experience to have a coffee, read a book, or listen to the owner play the piano.

It is very close to Hongyadong, so if you are still not satisfied after visiting Hongyadong, please continue to Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street. Compared to Hongyadong, there are far fewer tricks here. Almost all of the stores are physical stores, and even the stalls are more planned. So if you want to dine, this is a better choice. Like Guanyin Bridge, it is a combination of multiple stores, from small stalls to high-end restaurants. There are also many sky-high bars here. When you don’t know where to go at night, you can choose a bar, have a drink, listen to light music, and enjoy the entire scenery from high in the sky. But my first recommendation is to stay in Guanyinqiao, because most of the accommodation here is mid- to high-end hotels, and the terrain is more sloped, so staying here may make traveling more tiring. There are many special small shops on the pedestrian street, many souvenirs and two-yuan shops. You can look around and have a look. But be careful of one thing: there are some collective flower sellers here. They will look for targets near Jiefangbei when there are many people on holidays, and try to persuade you to buy flowers by putting them in your hands. Although the flowers are fresh and not expensive, it is still unpleasant to be forced to buy, so be careful. If you don't want to buy, stay away from them. There are police patrolling around Jiefangbei. Don't be a stupid tourist. It is a place to commemorate their martyrs. Don't go in to take pictures or you will be shouted out! Chongqing is a city that is built on a mountain basically, so it has many ups and many degrees. Is you want is more comfortable and convenient, my advice is better staying not near the river. The Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street has many hotels, malls, street food, and i think it is the best area to stay. Chongqing is a cheaper city than Shanghai and Beijing. It was my favorite one
