Jiageng Garden is home to a Turtle Garden designed by noted Singaporean philanthropist Tan Kah Kee (AKA Chen Jiageng). The garden covers 30,000m2, of which buildings take up 5,500m2. Laid out like a traditional Chinese garden, it contains pavilions, terraces, open halls, small bridges over flowing streams, and patches of shaded greenery. Together, the Jiageng and Turtle Gardens are truly radiant, with each bringing out the charm of the other.

Of course, niche attractions often hide unexpected beauty. Fewer people and beautiful scenery are the most worthwhile places to check in during your trip! In the hot summer, I have prepared a nanny-level strategy for you that will not let you go back. It is guaranteed to make you have fun!
Jimei Tour Guide for Hot Summer
1️⃣ Jimei Park
A must-visit place in Jimei, you must not miss it! Now you don't need to make an appointment, just go in! Open from 8:00 to 17:30. Learn about history at the Chen Jiageng Memorial Hall, check in at the monument, and feel the weight of culture. The scenery by the sea is even more breathtaking when the tide is high!
2️⃣ Nandi Park
This is a niche park that only locals know. You can see the sea train passing by, and occasionally there are planes flying across the sky. There is a "lonely tree" in the park, which is very suitable for taking photos. If you like quietness, don't miss it!
3️⃣ Lehai Park
This is a niche observation platform full of artistic sense. The pure white minimalist design style is amazing. This is a local's favorite place for walking. You can also go fishing here and experience different kinds of fun!
Special Forces Recommended Route:
Take the sea train → Jimei Xue Village Subway Station (check in luggage) → Ten Mile Long Dike → Dragon Boat Pool → Nandi Park → Nanxun Building Group → Jimei Park → Lehai Park → Chu Yuxun's Home → Dashe → Shigu Road → Sea Bicycle Path (watch the sunset) → Jimei Xue Village Gate (check in the plaque) → Jimei Xue Village Subway Station (pick up luggage)
Lazy People Recommended Route:
Take the sea train → Jimei Xue Village Subway Station (check in luggage) → Take a taxi from the subway station to Shigu Road → Dashe → Jimei Park → Nanxun Building Group → Nandi Park → Dragon Boat Pool → Ten Mile Long Dike (watch the sunset) → Jimei Xue Village Subway Station (pick up luggage)
Food Recommendation:
Yangfu Craftsman Sesame Cake, One Tree One Leaf, Chicken Motor, Dried Vegetable Story, Delicious Tenderloin, Lin Ji Four Fruit Soup (Note that you don't buy the wrong one, the tenderloin is not Chen Shifu's, and the sesame cake is not the two on the main street, so be sure to see the name before you start!)
Specialty Recommendation:
Papa Bakery Chestnut Shortbread, Wang Ji Xian Dou Gao (Chestnut Shortbread recommended taro flavor, salty and sweet; Songshan Xiaobai is better than Xian Dou Gao, especially the purple rice and taro Songshan Xiaobai, simply delicious!)
Tips:
If the queue is too long, don't buy it, it's not worth it! Travel is about enjoying a relaxing and happy time, so don't make yourself too tired!
How about it? Does this guide make you want to leave immediately? Then hurry up and go to Jimei and experience it! Remember to bring me some specialties to taste~ Hee hee~

If you visit Jimei, besides the Ten-Mile Long Dike, there are several other beautiful places worth seeing.
1. Jiageng Park: Enter from the west gate, and you'll be greeted by a stunning seawall. Be sure to check the tide schedule; the seawall is most beautiful an hour after the tide starts to recede. Walking on the seawall wet by the sea gives a very mystical feeling.
2. Jimei Grand Village: This area still retains many old Xiamen shops. It has only become popular in the last two years, so there aren't many tourists. There are many interesting and artistic small shops to explore at your leisure. When you get tired, you can buy some homemade snacks from the roadside grandmas, which is very comforting.
3. Dragon Boat Pond: Walk all the way to the end, and you'll find a very beautiful section that feels like a mini Bund in Shanghai. If you visit on the weekend, you'll see many people strolling around.
4. Shigu Road: This is a snack street near Jimei University, mostly frequented by students. The prices are very reasonable, and there are many small shops that have been open for over a decade, worth trying.
5. Nandi Park: You can see the Xiamen Bridge from here, along with a solitary tree on an island and many fishing boats.
6. Lehai Park: This park was newly built in the last two years. You can see the Jimei Bridge from here, and many locals come here for a walk in the evening. You can also go to the bridgehead to catch the sea.
7. Water Sports Center: This place hides a very niche park, especially beautiful at sunset around 5 PM. There's also an abandoned pier where many people fish.
📷📷📷 When you come to Xiamen, be sure to set aside a day for Jimei. It won't disappoint you.

Travel Guide for University Students: Four Days and Three Nights in Xiamen
Why haven't I updated my tutoring experience posts recently? Because I've been traveling.
Play:
Day 1: Arrive at Xiamen North Station, you can stay near Jimei School Village.
Tour route: Shigu Street Night Market – Dasha – Jiageng Park – Dragon Boat Park – Cycling on the Sea Bicycle Path – Jimei Bridge Beach.
Day 2 and 3: Take Metro Line 1 from Jimei School Village to the island. You will encounter the most beautiful Miyazaki-style sea metro at Neicuo. You can stay near Wenzhao Metro Station or near Xiamen University.
Day 2: Take a ferry to Gulangyu Island. You can stay for one night or leave at 6 PM. There are many beautiful attractions on the island. Detailed Gulangyu guide will be in the next post – Ba Market – Zhongshan Road Food.
Day 3: Go to Baicheng Beach at 4 AM to watch the sunrise – Visit Xiamen University – Pray at Nanputuo Temple (very efficacious) – Cycling around the sea (the coastline is very beautiful on sunny days) – Take the Zhonggu Mountain Cableway to watch the sunset – Night market.
Day 4: Xiamen Botanical Garden – Xiamen Science and Technology Museum – Catch the train.
Clothing: Short sleeves + sunscreen clothing + sunglasses, Xiamen is very hot recently.
Food: Shigu Road (Old City Satay Noodles, Lin Ji Four Fruit Soup, Ben Shui Vermicelli Soup, Shigu Road Jimei University Night Market, much cheaper and tastier than Ba Market). Ba Market is a seafood market with a wide variety of fresh seafood, but the prices are a bit high. Zhongshan Road is the most expensive, very large, and tiring to walk.
Accommodation: It is recommended to stay one day in Jimei School Village, one day on Gulangyu Island, and two days on Xiamen Island. Recommend staying at Hanting near the metro station, clean, convenient, and hygienic.
Transportation: Metro, bus, and shared electric bikes are very convenient.
