This statue of Jesus is located in Vung Tau, southern Vietnam. Getting there: Fly to Ho Chi Minh and then get the ferry boat ride to Vung Tau. Not expensive and you will be there in less than two hours. This Jesus statue sits at the top of a hill, similar to the one in Rio. You can climb the steps inside and stand on the arms to get a panoramic view of the beach town. Inside the statue also contains a small museum with art and relics. 🌈When in Vietnam, you must visit the Christ of Vung Tau in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province to experience a trip that's truly worth it! 💪 🌈Located about 8 kilometers southwest of Vung Tau by the sea, the origin of this Christ statue is due to the deep influence of the former French colonial rule on the Vietnamese people, with Catholicism playing a significant role in Vietnam The statue was constructed in 1971, during the Vietnam War, with the hope that Christ would protect the safety of Vung Tau 🌈This Christ statue, comparable to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is one of the few large Christ statues in the world 💪 🌈In terms of individual structure, the Christ of Vung Tau stands 32 meters tall with arms stretching 18.4 meters wide, taller than the Christ the Redeemer in Brazil (26 meters tall with a 10-meter arm span), making it the largest Christ statue in Asia 👍 🌈The Christ statue can be considered a symbol of the coastal city of Vung Tau, located on the peak of the Small Mountain (Nui Nho). To reach the top, one must climb more than 1000 steps . The mountain is not very high, but the hot weather in Vietnam makes the climb quite challenging . Fortunately, every 50 steps along the climb, there's a sign to indicate progress, and there are many small platforms with stone benches for tourists to rest.
