Vietnam's Christ the Redeemer
This statue of Jesus is located in Vung Tau, southern Vietnam.
Getting there: Fly to Ho Chi Minh and then get the ferry boat ride to Vung Tau. Not expensive and you will be there in less than two hours.
This Jesus statue sits at the top of a hill, similar to the one in Rio. You can climb the steps inside and stand on the arms to get a panoramic view of the beach town. Inside the statue also contains a small museum with art and relics.
Well worth viewing.

The most amazing place in Vung Tau - Jesus Christ Statue
Jesus Christ Statue, standing on Mount Nhỏ in Vung Tau, Vietnam. The Vietnamese Catholic Church built this statue in 1974 and it was completed in December 1994. The statue is the largest Christian statue across Asia since 2012, which is 32 metres (105 ft) high statue of Jesus extending his 18.3 metres (60 ft) long arms on the top of 170 metres (558 ft) high Nho Mount in Vung Tau.

Visiting the Christ of Vung Tau is a must when in Vietnam
🌈When in Vietnam, you must visit the Christ of Vung Tau in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province to experience a trip that's truly worth it! 💪
🌈Located about 8 kilometers southwest of Vung Tau by the sea, the origin of this Christ statue is due to the deep influence of the former French colonial rule on the Vietnamese people, with Catholicism playing a significant role in Vietnam
The statue was constructed in 1971, during the Vietnam War, with the hope that Christ would protect the safety of Vung Tau
🌈This Christ statue, comparable to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is one of the few large Christ statues in the world 💪
🌈In terms of individual structure, the Christ of Vung Tau stands 32 meters tall with arms stretching 18.4 meters wide, taller than the Christ the Redeemer in Brazil (26 meters tall with a 10-meter arm span), making it the largest Christ statue in Asia 👍
🌈The Christ statue can be considered a symbol of the coastal city of Vung Tau, located on the peak of the Small Mountain (Nui Nho). To reach the top, one must climb more than 1000 steps . The mountain is not very high, but the hot weather in Vietnam makes the climb quite challenging .
Fortunately, every 50 steps along the climb, there's a sign to indicate progress, and there are many small platforms with stone benches for tourists to rest. Each bench is engraved with names, as many devout Catholics generously donated in the past for the construction of the Christ statue, and each bench is a testament to their contribution .
🌈Inside the Christ statue, there's a spiral staircase of 133 steps that leads to the shoulders 😎, where up to three people can stand on each shoulder at the same time 💪.
🌈From the terraces on the shoulders of the Christ statue, one can overlook the entire city of Vung Tau and the vast sea
🌈Warm reminders:
1. Admission: Free.
2. Opening hours:
Monday-Thursday, Saturday-Sunday 7:15-11:30, 13:30-16:30 🤗

3. Important notes:
🌟Be sure to wear sleeved tops and pants that go past the knees, no slippers allowed, and ladies, please do not wear skirts 👩👩👧👧.
🌟Shoes, hats, sunglasses, bags, and water are not allowed inside the Christ statue.
4. Duration: 1-1.5 hours for the round trip .
🌈Although climbing the Christ of Vung Tau is challenging, the scenery along the way and the panoramic view of Vung Tau city and the continuous coastline from its shoulders are so blue and spectacular. Looking up at the side profile of Christ with the breeze gently blowing, one feels no regrets 👩❤️👩😎🥰
