Historic buildings
Chuandeng Temple is located on Dingzu Mountain and is a thousand-year-old temple. According to legend, it was built by the monk Adao during the Goguryeo period, and Princess Zhenhe, the wife of King Chungyeol of Goryeo (reigned 1274-1308), donated jade lamps to the Buddha. There are many things worth seeing in Jeondungsa Temple, such as Daeungjeon Hall (protected cultural relic No. 178) and Yakushi Hall (protected cultural relic No. 179). In particular, there are peculiar statues in Daxiong Hall that cannot be seen in other temples, namely the nude woman statue under the eaves and the figure sculpture on the pillar. The roof adopts the "well algae" style, surrounded by colorful sculptures and patterns such as lotus and flying sky. In the courtyard of the mountain temple, there is a fan bell from the Song Dynasty in China, which is 1.6 meters high and 1 meter in diameter, with an elegant shape. Not only is the Chuan Deng Temple beautiful in itself, but the surrounding landscape is also famous for its beauty. Especially in the early morning and in the evening, the sea can be seen, and the scenery is very spectacular. Watching the sunset at Jeondungsa Temple is famous in Korea. In addition, there is a bamboo forest tea garden, where you can rest.
