Itoman Fisherman's Shokudo: A popular restaurant in southern Okinawa, famous for its fresh fish dishes
Itoman City in the southern part of Okinawa Island is famous for its thriving fishing industry. If you come to Itoman, you will want to try various fish. Located about 20 minutes by car from Naha Airport, Itoman Fisherman's Shokudo is popular not only among locals but also among tourists. The exterior walls are made of Ryukyu limestone and there are plenty of green plants outside. Once you enter the store, you will be surrounded by the warm atmosphere of the stone walls and wood. There are three types of seats in the store: table seats, wooden floor seats, and tatami seats. The most recommended dish is the one using fresh fish from Okinawa Prefecture (imaiyu in the Okinawan dialect). You can enjoy dishes such as the cream-baked fresh fish set meal, the hot casserole fish soup set meal, and the tuna rice set meal. You will definitely have a satisfying meal!
