Containing a variety of stunning paintings and artifs from all over the Muslim world, it is informative and very comprehensive in its descriptions. The architectural gallery was my favorite, with some of the best architectural models I have ever seen and detailed descriptions of mosques and shrines in different geographical areas of the Islamic world. Malaysia has become home to the largest museum of Islamic art in Southeast Asia. We found the museum very interesting. The museum shop had beautiful and affordable items. I was also impressed by the architecture of the museum itself, which has many unique domes that have been intricately drawn and decorated. The gift shop was also full of interesting books and high-quality souvenirs. The Moza restaurant in the museum was great. My husband thought the pregnancy leg was the best he ever ate. Lentils soup was also delicious. I ordered shish-tauk who was chicken in a skewered with yogurt seasoned with citrus, garlic and spices.... Just great! The chickpeas were perfect.

This museum is large! I have limited knowledge about Islamic arts and ended up spending a few hours here. They have fascinating collection of Islamic artifacts from Malaysia and other countries. I was especially amazed by islamic arts and caligraphy from China. My other favourite area is the big collection of beautiful Qaran, stunning detail and beauuuuutiful graphic. Other areas are like Maps , Jewelry, architecture, costume etc. Not only ancient art, there is modern art area , most of them are paintings and caligraphy on canvas. BTW, the museum restaurant on 2nd fl. is nice ! I ordered simple fried rice, I didn't expect them to be this yummy ! 😋 Entrance Fee : 20 MYR

I love the architecture of this islamic museum. Stunning building from all angles. Every corner of the room decorated so perfect. Very impressive, look expensive, and immaculate, detailed marble and sweeping staircase and architectural ceiling. The washroom is so clean. They have a praying room, too.
