Bolivia is a place you must visit in your lifetime, no other place can compare to it. I didn’t go there during the rainy season from December to March. This was actually my second time at the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia. The first time, my camera was stolen before I arrived in Uyuni, so I didn't have any photos to remember, and this was my revenge after 20 years. The rainy season in Bolivia in 2023 was said to be a drought in some areas, but fortunately the Uyuni region was well-filled with water, so I was able to see the reflection I had been longing for! In the middle of the salt plains in southern Bolivia is a an oasis of an island where hundreds of cacti plants exist called Isla Incahuasi! To access the island, it is best to be booked through a group tour from the city of Uyuni. Once there, you can take a hike through the island and discover the different plants that are there and how old they are. There are toilets and lots of information at the island as well as a small admission fee.

#Overseas Travel Visiting Isla Incahuase in Bolivia was an exciting adventure. When she arrived at the island, she was dazzled by its unique natural beauty. Isla Incahuase is an uninhabited island in the middle of the salt lake of Lake Oro. The island was covered with many fossilized plants and rocks that had formed over many years. I enjoyed walking the rocky trails and exploring the magnificent landscape around me. From the top of the island, I enjoyed a wonderful view of the amazing salt lake. I also visited a small museum with many plant and animal specimens. Visiting Isla Incahuase was a unique natural experience and an opportunity to enjoy the fascinating beauty of Bolivian nature.

It wasn’t until I returned to Salar de Uyuni this year, that I realized how blessed we were to get these conditions the first time around. When these photos were taken back in 2020, I was blown away by the surreal beauty, but I assumed the salt flats always looked like this. Turns out, they don’t. 🤦🏻‍♀️ But I don’t regret going back.
