#traveldiaries Just returned from an amazing trip to Ios Island, and it was such a delight! 🌊 This place is known for its stunning beaches and vibrant nightlife, but I was pleasantly surprised by its charming villages too. I spent a lot of time at Mylopotas Beach, where the soft sand and crystal-clear water made it a perfect spot to relax. Best of all, there’s no entrance fee! I also explored Chora, the main town, with its whitewashed buildings and narrow streets. I had to visit the archaeological site of Skarkos; the entry was just 3 euros, and the history was fascinating. For sunsets, Ios has some of the best views—head to the old windmill for an unforgettable sight. The local tavernas serve incredible food; don’t miss the moussaka! The most friendliest island in greece, the beautiful Ios. From the moment you set off the ferry everyone is there to please you. Transportation is great every 10 minutes there is a bus taking you from the port to the large party beach Mylopotas. Hardly any traffic, everything is a few minutes away. The most beautiful sunsets, and the best views. After visiting a few islands I have decided this is the best one, catering for all ages.

Spent my days lounging on Mylopotas Beach, which has the softest sand and clear blue water—absolutely free to enter! The sunsets there were next-level, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink. 🌅 During the day, we explored Chora, the island’s main village, with its white-washed houses, narrow alleys, and cute little shops. The view from the top was breathtaking! One of the highlights was visiting the ancient ruins of Skarkos. For a small entrance fee of €2, we got a glimpse into the island's history. We also took a boat trip to explore hidden coves and smaller beaches, like Manganari Beach, which was so peaceful and picturesque. At night, Ios really comes alive. We hit the bars and clubs in Chora—think dancing under the stars until the early morning! The local food was another highlight, especially the fresh seafood and Greek salads. Ios is definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for a perfect blend of relaxation, history, and nightlife. The Greek island of Ios has a very small cheese factory better known as a cheesery because of its size. This is a great little trip for an afternoon, from Chora it takes about 20 minutes to drive or if you prefer a good hike you can do it in just under two hours. When you arrive you will be greeted and offered the full tour and tasting which comes with some rosé wine. This is what we opted for, it is a very small tour but also very interesting and for a great price I’d highly recommend.
