[2024 Kuala Lumpur Stay] Travel Guide for InterContinental Kuala Lumpur, an IHG Hotel (Updated Nov)
InterContinental Kuala Lumpur, where the bed is big enough to sleep five people!
On my first night in Malaysia, I stayed at the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur. The hotel is in a great location, just a few minutes' walk from the Petronas Towers. Some rooms even have views of the towers.
The hotel thoughtfully prepared welcome fruit, chocolates, and local souvenirs. The most shocking thing was the bed in the room. It was the first time I had seen a bed that was wider than it was long. The hotel staff said they had tested it and it could sleep five people! Five people!
The lobby is beautiful, with a rockery and waterfall outside the window. It feels a bit like a garden hotel. I also visited the SPA, swimming pool, gym, and executive lounge, and I liked them all. I will stay here again next time I come to Kuala Lumpur.

Practical 3-day, 2-night Kuala Lumpur travel guide.
I just got back from Malaysia and wanted to share my 3-day, 2-night travel guide for Kuala Lumpur.
1. Transportation: I flew from Shenzhen to Kuala Lumpur on Shenzhen Airlines, and also flew back on Shenzhen Airlines (from Penang to Shenzhen). The flight was about 4 hours and the free baggage allowance was 23 kg.
2. Internet: I have a China Mobile SIM card and activated international roaming. I bought a data package before I left (you can buy it on the China Mobile mini program or Alipay). It was CNY 28 per day for 3 GB of data. You can buy as many days as you need. It's buy one get one free, so it's more cost-effective if two people buy it together. We bought 6 days for two people, so it was CNY 64 per person. Incoming and outgoing calls were CNY 1 per minute.
Alternatively, you can buy a SIM card when you arrive in Kuala Lumpur. After you collect your luggage at the airport, turn left and there are a few kiosks selling SIM cards. The prices are similar. One of my friends bought a 65 GB data card for MYR 49. It was valid for 30 days and they helped us install the card.
3. Accommodation: We stayed in downtown Kuala Lumpur, near the Petronas Twin Towers. The location was convenient and there were shopping malls nearby. We stayed in two hotels (InterContinental and Wyndham Suites) and both were very good. The service was good, the bedding was comfortable, the rooms were spacious and bright, and they both had swimming pools and gyms. Breakfast was included and the staff spoke Chinese.
4. Attractions: We visited the Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur Tower, Pink Mosque, Central Market, Kwai Chai Hong, Petaling Street, Durian Market, etc. We also took the monorail. We mainly walked or took taxis. Remember to download the Grab taxi app and Google Maps.
5. Dining: There are many Chinese people in Kuala Lumpur, so there are many Chinese restaurants. You don't have to worry about food. However, the local food is a bit sweet, so people from some provinces might not be used to it. You can also try Malaysian food.
In addition, if you like durian, you're in luck in Kuala Lumpur. The durian here is cheap and delicious. You can really eat your fill. For example, the price of Musang King is about MYR 40-80 per kg. Some varieties are only about MYR 10 per kg.
6. Shopping: Our hotel was near Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. You can also go shopping at the duty-free shops at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The prices are better than in China.
7. Lastly: Remember to bring a light jacket when you travel to Malaysia, because the air conditioning in the malls, airports, and all indoor areas is very low.

You shouldn't wait for other people to make special things happen. You have to create your own memories...
Staying at the Intercontinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur was indeed a beautiful chapter in my life memories...
This beautiful grand hotel, is so welcoming, spacious and luxurious I really felt so spoilt in every aspect from the beds, the service and the delicious noms....
We were definitely wowed by the super king bed which was undeniably plush, the secret koi garden, the pool, the interiors of the restaurants, the gym and of course, the location, which is just next to the Ampang Park LRT and walking distance to KLCC, Ave K, Intermark and the Linc...
So if you want a great luxurious getaway, to rest, recharge, or refresh, this is the place to go...

The Mystic Delight: InterContinental KL Mid- Autumn Collection 2024
InterContinental Kuala Lumpur is serving up an assortment of 10 artisanal snow skin and baked mooncakes at the Best Muslim-Friendly Chinese Restaurant award winner, Tao Chinese Cuisine, helmed by Master Dim Sum Chef Lo Tian Sion's 30 years of experience in extensive cultural expertise and modern culinary innovation.
The 2024 Mystic Delight Mid-Autumn Collection features festive gift boxes in two variations - the Mystic Radiance Lantern Box and the Mystic Splendour Premium Box.
The Mystic Radiance box comes inclusive of an LED tea light candle that transforms the box into a lantern, illuminating the halls of your homes with the warm glow of this celestial celebration, while the Mystic Splendour Premium Box comes with a tea canister of Tao's Signature Black Tea.
The lantern design on the Mystic Splendour and Mystic Radiance gift boxes was curated through a partnership with the Mouth & Foot Painting Artists Association (MFPA), an international for-profit association wholly owned by
differently-abled artists to help them meet their financial needs. The chosen artwork is an original piece by footpainter, Mohd Khairuddin Bin Che Rani, reproduced with kind permission from the MFPA.
Dubbed "Strong Light", it is an ode to Chinese culture, reminiscent of his time growing up in Kelantan with his Chinese friends and neighbours, and his inspiration from Chinese television shows. In crafting the piece he hoped to represent the harmonious acknowledgement and appreciation of Malaysia's diverse cultural landscape.
The 2024 collection features the Almond & Sweet Potato Baked Skin, Musang King Durian Snow Skin with Oats and the Butterfly Pea Flower Snow Skin with Bird's Nest and White Lotus Paste, the Dragon Fruit Paste with Black Sesame Mochi Baked Skin, Lemon Snow Skin with Hawthorn Cherry Jelly & Green Tea Paste as well as the Red Safflower Snow Skin with Shredded Coconut Paste & Salted Egg Cream.

I stayed in a classic room this time. The room is decorated in light beige, bright and spacious, with an especially large and comfortable bed! After a long journey, you can have a really good sleep🛏️ The toiletries are byredo, and there's a large bathtub. You can ask the front desk for a disposable bathtub liner🌟
💛About food
The breakfast at the InterContinental is famously lavish, covering Chinese, Western, and Japanese cuisines, enough to trigger anyone's choice paralysis🍳
For dinner, I tried the Peach Restaurant, which mainly serves Chinese cuisine. The quality of the dishes is high, and the ingredients are generous, making it feel like a good value for money🥢

Kids friendly pool @ Intercontinental KL
School holiday well spent with family, when you stay at the hotel with kids friendly pool.
What’s is kids friendly? Basically to me, the pool must have a suitable depth of the pool which is safe for the kids, which is knee height and waist height for an adult. Besides that, they hotel management also provide few floats for kids to play with, free of charge. So, my kids take turn to play with their floats. They enjoy it so much and continue to enjoy the swimming pool the next day, just before check out.

This hotel in Kuala Lumpur is perfect for taking photos.
I stayed at the InterContinental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, which is the closest 5-star hotel to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers.
The rooms are spacious and bright, with a simple but not simplistic style. The design is very thoughtful, with details everywhere. There are welcome fruits on the table and a cute rabbit folded from a towel on the bed.
The hotel has a swimming pool, gym, spa, etc. The staff are very enthusiastic and the breakfast is very rich. It is very close to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, about a 5-minute walk.
Breakfast is also very rich, with many choices. I recommend the famous Kuala Lumpur coconut milk rice and Indian flying cake.
PS: Many people only transit in Kuala Lumpur. In fact, Kuala Lumpur also has fun, beautiful and delicious places. It is worth staying for a few days and strolling slowly, such as the Twin Towers, Independence Square, Hero Monument, Ghost Lane, Aluo Street, Monorail, Durian Market, Water Mosque, etc.
Hotel: InterContinental Kuala Lumpur
Address: 165 Jalan Ampang, Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur
Service: Free shuttle service to KLCC and Pavilion Square every hour
